    AVOID THIS COMPANY. This is has been the most frustrating online/retail experience of my life! Waiting for 3 MONTHS for delivery, sending to an incorrect address, inconsistencies with stock displaying false info on the website, putting the emphasis of the blame on the customer and lack of basic customer care and communication. My mind is set on not using this company EVER again and giving them so many chances after taking a liking to them on their youtube channel @charterhouseTV. The first issue came about when the first batch of items was a no show to my address. It came as a surprise to me when I found out that it had been sent to an old address, which was listed as a billing address during the order and on the finance process. I checked with the finance company I processed the money through (on 3 separate occasions) and they had confirmed the billing and delivery address was correct and that Charterhouse had this had been obtained by them, so there should be no issues. When I rang, I got through to one of the directors they were really not helpful at all. Initially, there were no suggestions other than driving to a previous address, where I have no way of getting into the property to gain the items that had been sent. What was even more frustrating, was that the rest of the delivery was due to be sent to this old address including a 450 Litre tank with a large stand. The mere suggestion by the member of staff to drive to the property and collect the item myself really wound me up as you can imagine trying to load a pallet into a car, how the earth would I be able to take a pallet delivery myself? They also doubted the stock display issues that I had mentioned on the website even though on adding the order and checkout stated no issues at all: so this left me feeling a little shocked and upset. I decided not to make a fuss but continued with the order when the Director had informed me that the address had been changed so there will be no further issues. I thought this would be the last of it; so, It came as a shock when I then spoke to another colleague on the phone who said the address had not been changed by this director. They then stated that the address had now been changed (2nd attempt) and that I would have a refund on the difference I paid extra delivery. Another shock when I found out via email after speaking to James, that none of this had happened, again?! This is a disgrace and absolute incompetence. The next frustration started with my original order on the plants, rocks, and background being significantly delayed, the plants by 3 months! I can accept that sometimes distribution issues affect online retailers but for three months? They also stated that at the time of the order the dispatch on the items would not have any issues,  I was informed when I contacted them about the delivery issues that these items would take a while to get to me. I was always the one chasing for an update and it seemed to be open-ended every time. The money I gained from the credit over the delivery issues was used for more plants to make up for the ones I was waiting for. To add insult to injury, I had major issues with this also. Again, the website stated that everything was in stock, I was given a date of dispatch and delivery date: like last time. I then had an email the day before delivery notifying me that there would be a delay to my order. This then took ANOTHER MONTH to arrive. You really can't imagine a company getting this so wrong and really not being that bothered about it. It is absolutely ridiculous, that a company can be so incompetent, have such issues with stock management, communication issues and lack of customer care. I really wanted to like this company even after they messed up my first orders, I gave them another chance and they blew it again. I genuinely really won't be using them again and I do not recommend this to any of you.

    The aquarium is amazing and well designed. You can si the Mantas Rays in the clear top cave. They have a variety of mantas and sharks in the tank. Also you can find a red octopus and more. The tank is not the big but is enough to see the mantas.

    Shown no interest what so ever to help me finish a bespoke tank I have made. It needs fully kitting out and plumbed up. Even a courtesy call to say its not for them would have been nice instead of no answer on emails or never getting back to me on the phone! Shame as they look like a good outfit.

    Delivery was ridiculous over 2 weeks..... quick enough to take the money and dont want to no after always being fobbed off with fake days and times with my own persistence I managed to collect my parcel from the courier depot else I felt like I'd never revive it

    Ordered a part that was "apparently" in stock, waited 2 weeks for it to arrive and got Nothing!! I rang up charterhouse and they tell me the part isn't going to be in stock for 2 weeks, still no part an No offer of a refund!!! what an absolutely joke. I haven't even got my money back. I hope trading standards resolves this. Be careful Anyone who makes an order online. RING THEM AND CHECK THEY HAVE IT IN STOCK OR LOSE OUT!! And don't expect a refund. Rubbish company that leave people waiting weeks/months. If you can get it quicker from another company do it, as you'll be waiting days/weeks/ months, with charterhouse

    I have had superb service from charterhouse until there was a problem with one of their products they was unable to sort. I bought a Hanna salinity checker and payed good money for the item it was reading with an error margin of 0.002 which is well over the manufacturer guidelines (tested against two refractometers), so I had to pay to post it back to them a week later which they then sent it back to the manufacturer, instead of doing the right thing and just replacing the product they 'fixed' it and sent it back . Low and behold I'd still did not work so I sent another email to which they said the product had been fixed to manufacturing standards and there was nothing they could do 'contact Hanna' not great customer service, I have spent hundreds of pounds with this company but won't be spending another penny with them. Unfortunate .

    Ordered a gravel cleaner. Turned up broken. They wouldn't replace it. Wouldn't refund it. Said the only option was for me to buy a new one. Really bad customer service.

    Biggest mistake I made was trusting there testimony on quarantined stock since setting up my tank and receiving stock from this site I now have white spot For the first time do not buy live stock from here you will regret it like I do

    Last two deliveries of food delivered unsuccessfully and emails ignored. First time was some AB+ which the cap came off in the box and lost a quarter of its contents. The rest went bad before it should have. The second was frozen food which you’d expect to defrost a bit. Well, two of the three packets had holes in them and all the fluid leaked out. I give this review only because my emails have been ignored.

    Brilliant service from start to finish orderd coralline alge for my reef tank turned up with drip acumaltion pipe nice touch there delivery on time as stated. Can't fault it will definitely be ordering my coals and live stock from here. Thanks everyone at charterhouse aquatics

    poor service from these guys I ordered a roma 240 and had a 3 week wait for delivery less than 48 hours before delivery was due the emailed to say the product was out of stock surely they knew this when taking the order. thanks to these doing this due to taking out finance have left me unable to get the tank at all now dont trust them at all order from these at your risk look at other reviews these seems to happen regularly order st your risk

    After initial instillation of a salt water marine tank including sump and all the bits needed everything was fine, but then after a couple of months or so the tank had a serious bout cyanobacteria, it was everywhere which charterhouse could not rectify with their amateur maintenance staff, asked them to change maintenance man as we where having no joy and what did they do send the same guy round who had no idea of how to fix it...After more months with no joy with a different maintenance man, we got Aquatic Design Centre who are much more experience of a company to sort it out, and are now doing a great job looking after our tank. So all good there but lost loads of coral in the meantime due to charterhouse' amateur staff. Ok we bit the bullet of losing money and coral but the tank is now in a very healthy state thanks to the Aquatic Design Centre. Then another problem with our tank arises. I find the corner of the tank starting to have cracks and is now spreading. I contacted Matt the owner and he asked for me to email him some photos which I sent. He said it has been bashed or hit with something which I totally disagreed with as I know for a fact nothing has. Also how can it be when the outside of the tank is smooth as the day it was installed with no external marks scratches or any sign of anything hitting the glass. I emailed him saying this and am still awaiting a reply. This has probably been well over a month now maybe 2. I have had no communication since not even a single email let alone sending someone round to have a look at it. Total cowboys of a company. Very easy to take your money (and we spent a hell of a lot) and absolute shambles of after care. Avoid this company and I don't use the word Cowboy lightly. 1 star is too much to give these amateurs.

    Bought a new light for tank only for it to come used with bolts snapped in to fittings. Rang them and I'll be honest he did send new bolts and gave credit of £35. I personally don't think this is exceptable as the light was £400 and could of bought a used one for half the price. Safe to say it will be getting returned.

    Cannot fault the service! Quick delivery, no issues. Great price matching service which is ideal! They come back to you quickly and always accept the price match!     Writing this after a lot of thought. This used to be my go to website but I will not be ordering anything from here due to terrible customer service and poor communication. Ordered AI hydra lights and brackets for my reef- they sent an opened pack of brackets- used one (I paid price for new), which had screws missing. It was a nightmare fixing it and found correct screws by wasting a lot of time and money. AI hydra lights were faulty which I asked for replacement which they delayed despite my request that my reef has no light and BH weekend is approaching- No communication- Just closed phone lines. Finally I received replacement light, I escalated this poor service and used brackets without screws sent and no apology was offered rather , just trying to shake off responsibility. you have genuine responsibility to check the quality of products and atleast if it is new pack or old opened pack. You have lost one customer and maybe more.

    Absolutely excellent, can not fault these guys. Quick response with email enquiries. Checked with courier and emailed me to let me know what was happening with my order. Reasonable prices and a good level of stock, bought everything needed to set up my marine aquarium. Definitely no issues, highly recommend Charterhouse aquatics.

    Having been new to the world of fishkeeping, I didn't know which stores were best in terms of stock availability and customer service. Without doubt, Charterhouse Aquatics is the best online store I have come across. My initial order was great and when I had a problem after six months with a heater, their response was an example of the very best customer service I have encountered. Assuming they have the items (which they usually do), I will be getting all my future aquarium equipment from Charterhouse!

    What a helpful company. My Eheim Ecco Pro 130 broke a few days before I was due to go on holiday. I contacted them regarding warranty, and despite them saying that the warranty didn't cover my issue, they still shipped me the replacement part (worth well over £20) for free within 2 days. This has saved me a lot of stress. When I bought my pump 1.5 years ago, they also happened to be the cheapest. I won't be buying aquarium products from any other company from now on. Can't rate highly enough.

    Excellent service. I have been shopping with CHA since before their Hertford branch. Was so happy when this opened as I now have the option to collect and it is very quick. Delivery options are excellent from cheap/free services to next day timed delivery options. The staff remember my name which is very positive and adds to the friendly nature. The staff are very knowledgeable about not only their stocked products but also the aquatic hobby in general. CHA offers price matching which add to the value, and have recently started Charterhouse TV which is similar to BRS TV. I would be very interested in seeing product testing from the team - giving hobbyists more peace of mind and make choices easier. (I'd love to be part of that!) I've had a few issues in the past, all rectified in one way or another. Goodwill is not something that CHA is big on, but the issues do get sorted by either refund, or simply waiting for stock to become available. Overall, a very friendly atmosphere, and knowledgeable and helpful staff contribute to the 5 star rating. Keep up the good work, get in touch if you want help testing new products ;) Paul

    Brilliant, I ordered some marine salt (at a Brilliant price) and it arrived the very next day, unfortunately the lid had come off during shipment, so I popped them a message and I've received a brand new bucket the very next day.     Tried charging £16 delivery for a £1.99 cable just because I am on the isle of wight (which doesn't cost anymore as we are classed as mainland uk), even after I contacted them they still refused to charge any less and didn't want to help at all. Bad customer service.

    We've used Charterhouse for a number of years now, normally to purchase higher end items that we can't buy locally. They have a fantastic range of equipment to suit all budgets, dispatch is always super quick and items are well packaged. Customer services have always been very approachable and worked hard to resolve any issues.

    Very happy with the experience. Ordered a tank and it came very fast however the lid was damaged. Got very good customer service and they sent out a replacement lid and some sand as a sorry. Overall- good value, fast delivery and good customer service. Thank you.
