A fantastic park with reasonable Sunday parking at £1.50 for the whole day. Abundant walking trails along the river, made even better if you try a hiking app called Komoot. It's a kid's paradise, boasting climbing nets, swings, and even a mini rock climbing area. Don't forget the skateboarding spot and sand pit. Football goals for the sporty, and dogs roam freely (be aware). Adjacent to a large Sainsbury's for all your picnic needs. This place has it all - football, tennis, picnics, playtime, scenic walks with barges, cows, and more. People paddle boarding, fishing, and swimming too. Definitely worth revisiting. One caveat: public toilets need attention. Male toilets open, female and disabled closed, and a toilet paper shortage in the men's. An ice cream van nearby on the day was a sweet surprise though. Overall, a five-star gem with a minor maintenance hiccup. To make it even cooler, consider offering electric scooter or e-bike rentals - the pathways seem ready for them. Pro tip: Buy something at Sainsbury's for access to their customer toilets. Enjoy your visit!

Great place to wonder round. Parking at Sainsburys is easy and not expensive. Free on Sundays to park.

The park is situated alongside the River Lea, providing picturesque views and opportunities for river walks. There is also a riverside path that you can follow, which offers a pleasant route for strolling or cycling... The park offers a large expanse of green areas, perfect for picnics, leisurely walks, and outdoor activities.

This park is just brilliant! The kids love 'em. The whole place is like a massive sandpit with lots of things to play with. Plus a lot of parking space available next to it

Brilliant place to take your family for a great walk or picnic. Play area for the kids and acres of grass to exercise your dogs. Public toilets on site and plenty of parking. Pay and display with cash or cards.

Very lovely place to walk. The park is located close to the city center but also close to historical church in Bengeo, St. Leonard's Church. It's definitely recommended to visit for about an hour walk to Ware along beautiful canal. Public pathways are usually clean during summer, late spring, and early autumn. Perfect place to walk your dog, or of you don't have one, to have a nice BBQ:)

We used the sandpit and play area. The sandpit was a decent size and had a little water fountain & gully. There was a canopy over a large section which provided some much-needed cover on a sunny day. The large water pump wasn't working and there were a few abandoned items, such as a broken spade and other small plastic bits. There wasn't anywhere to wash/rinse the kids' hands and feet afterwards which was disappointing.

Great playground, water taps by the sand pit, big climbing net frame, lots of different activities. Only downside was the toilets were closed which doesn't make sense as we were there for 3 hours and had to walk across to Sainsbury's to use their toilets.

A clean, tidy, well maintained park with some new equipment for the kids. Paths lead off to the woods, down to the river and into town so lots to do. Some antisocial dogs about though!

I really like this park. Lots of different areas suitable for all ages. You can easily spend a good few hours there. The flooring is all sand so kids can just sit and play in the sand with buckets and spades etc. There is a huge climbing rope frame at one end which the older kids love. There is seating, but on busy days they get taken quickly. My kids love it there.

Really nice spot for playing with the kids at the river. Not too deep but deep enough to jump in from bridges and off the sup. Lots of access points for a SUP. Hertford people; they are excessive litterers. For a classy town I'm amazed at how unclassy people are. Pick up your litter!

Acres for the kids to run about plus playground and sandpit. Lovely river to swim and splash in. Miles for walking. Café at the swim pool/ soft play. Shame the ladies was locked and 5 of us had to invade the gents with one on guard outside 😕. Lots of fairly well behaved dogs. Carpark reasonable cost.

It is a very nice and family-friendly place. On the playground are lots of swings and slides. Massive sand pit and water play. My 3 years old loves it. There is a massive field of grass where people can go for a walk with their dogs. I saw tennis courts and a swimming pool is quite nice as well. The only flaw I found is that it is really busy during weekends and holidays.

Something about a playground dominated by sand really makes you question if we're really doing enough to challenge the format of a play area. It's a great place, and my son keeps asking me to take him to 'the sand'. Great for families and toys are often shared. Friendships blossom as a result.

A fabulous play park, great for children of all ages. It does get busy though and if you have children with sensory/additional needs, the sand and water plus noise can be overwhelming for them. I do think it's a great facility though and you could spend all day here as ice cream van, skatepark and Sainsbury's opposite.

We are so lucky to live next to such a wonderful park. Really good for families with children of all ages as there is something for everyone. The sand and water are a great addition.

Fantastic open space for families as well as a great space to walk, play sports or exercise. New play park with huge are of sand, includes lots of buried 'fossils and dinosaur skeletons' for kids to discover and water pumps to enhance sand play. Highly recommended

Fantastic playground that was recently refurbished. A great sand play are for the summer with active water features and dinosaur excavation. A good number of slides and rope climbing frame so there is always something available to play on.

We love walking around here. Loads of dogs running around. A nice loop to do if you stick to the path as well. It's a good morning walk and good if you have kids as there is a massive playground for them, the biggest I've ever seen. Good for training your dog off the lead as the fields are quite big and quiet at some times of the day. There are toilets as well but I'm not sure on the opening hours.
