I wish they can do something about the long que and the loooonnnng waiting period to receive the medication. And you share this time waiting with all these sick people and the germs. Hectic. Some people hanging on the shelves spreading the germs. O no! Still terrible. The owner clearly battling. Hours wasted waiting to be helped. If I don't have to I will not come here again. Huge ques always. Sic

Lots of parking, huge pharmacy, has everything you need. The wait for medication was very long. Didn't find the staff very friendly.

At no other pharmacy do you have to wait over 30minutes for your script to be fulfilled. I gave up in the end and asked for my script back. You try and support the local pharmacy not the big chain and for what

Very well stocked, clean and large pharmacy. The staff is friendly and we'll informed. Received great advice and my needs where met above my expectations. I found the medication price to be fair. Also need to mention the parking area. This is a major plus point as you do not need to pay for parking and there was lots available when I visited. Kept clean and well maintained. I will return and support them again.

Service, what service? Past ridiculous! Although we live barely 4 blocks away will never use them again, they have had enough chances to sort out their system

It is an absolute pleasure dealing with Berea Pharmacy - The convenience of using Whats App to send a script and then to be notified when medicine is ready for collection is just fabulous - saves so much time. Staff are courteous, efficient and friendly. I am proud to support and recommend this local business.

This used to be one of EL top pharmacies now its a place of frustration and waiting.. Went in to collect basic pain killers on script for my son's toe nail he had pulled. Took 35 m to get the script ready. Yet they have 6 pharmacists at the back all shuffling about. To be honest, Dischem is like 10 min and you're done and the script is ready. Something is broken in the way you process the scripts. It can't take that long to get basic S4 painmeds ready. Not very efficient at all... frustrating to visit.... wait.... wait and wait some more.. and then once you done waiting wait some more. I won't be back

Their service is so slow! I don't understand why it takes over an hour just to get medication.

Terrible, Terrible is an understatement. Don't expect to leave this pharmacy quickly, customer service is good but waiting for your medication is what kills this place. This is East Londons biggest pharmacy but also its worst. PERIOD

The sooner you realise that the only difference between a COVID positive person and the other people you allow to enter your premises is that the the one you are discriminating against has been tested whereas the other people you allow to roam in your pharmacy are not any wiser. This place takes the stigma of COVID to new heights. What's worse is that this is supposed to be a place where one receives treatment. How do you punish a person for knowing their status and discriminate and dehuminse that person by allowing the whole world to see that they are COVID positive. The Constitution guarantees everyone a right to human dignity and your practice violates that in an atrocious way. I would understand if there were no protocols in place (mask wearing, sanitizing and social distance). What was worse was watching the security person (with dreadlocks) allow white people to come in without subjecting them to reading and confirming if they have COVID (like we really can answer that) and seeing how he made each Black, Indian and Coloured person read and confirm to him that they were in fact not COVID positive. Wow

Extremely disappointed with this chemist attitude towards its customers. I ordered my monthly medical script supplies and was to collect in the afternoon on 31/12/21. I could not get back in town in time to collect. I then phoned and was answered by voicemail. Oh well I will collect in the morning I thought. They advertise emergency services so it should be ok. When I went to collect in the morning I found them closed so phoned the emergency number on the gate only to be answered by voicemail. Tried phoning later again. Still voicemail. They have my cellphone number but did not bother to phone when I did not collect. Knowing they would not be open the next day they could of least phoned. I had no miscalls. Really poor quality service. Zero caring. I Farley

Worst service I have received in my life at any pharmacy. The system they have in place is ineffective and wastes so much of the client's time. The assistants that help you are not competent to transfer the information to the actual pharmacists at the back. Waited 40 mins for them to come back to me and they didn't do what I asked initially. Rather stay clear if you don't have time to waste. Update: I have changed my review from 1 to 3 stars because I appreciate the effort of answering and contacting clients that were not satisfied with the service received. However, I want to clarify. My approximate waiting time is based on my actual time in the shop and includes the different queues and getting ahold of the pharmacist that initially helped me for clarification. If you want to buy something OTC that's not on a medical aid, then the service is pretty quick. The actual waiting time comes into effect when you want to load it onto your medical aid. This takes longer and the system they have in place may lead to unnecessary time wasted due to products being out of stock or the information not being conveyed directly from the client to the pharmacist. This is probably why there are a few one-star reviews. If this system can be modified then there would be fewer negative reviews in the future.

It is ridiculous how slow the service is to collect a script. Last night (21 March 2022) I handed in my daughters script at 18h00 and by 18h55 I was still waiting and eventually left. Today I've returned to collect the script and after 15 minutes only then someone came to assist. I don't know the logistics and staff required to facilitate services, but this seems to be the norm for Berea Pharmacy and needs to be looked at.

I recently placed an order online for a particular brand of cosmetics which my wife likes but can't seem to find in Cape Town where we live. The entire experience from start to finish was an absolute pleasure. The best part was seeing my wife's face when the delivery arrived. Thank you!

Always nothing but top service. You enter a pharmacy that is well stocked and organized. The staff are tops. Your scripts are filled in good time. There is plenty seating available whilst you wait. The stock of all necessities is very well presented. You will always have a pleasant shopping experience even if you are suffering from a cold or a chronic condition. Well done Berea Pharmacy on your excellent services and assistance to the community

One of the major pharmacies in East London. The online order facility via WhatsApp +27 71 454 3120 provides some much needed convenience.
