If you were to die and go to heaven you would want to eat at Sophia. This place is the best restaurant on Long Island . The service from (2) Jose’s , Juan , Monique, and Richie the bartender are simply an amazing experience. There skills and mannerism is second to none. This place is a five star for your entire experience.

We went here for a work meeting and this was really nice. Everything they served was delicious except the dressing on the salad. The waiter was very very nice and very attentive. The ambiance was good too but the food get 5 thumbs up. Will definitely be going back with my family.

Everything was amazing! We had the zuppa di clams for appetizer, penne vodka and shell steak with vegetables and mashed potatoes. It was all so fresh and perfectly cooked! The restaurant was also very clean and reasonably priced, definitely recommend.

Yes, the meals are half eaten, but who is going to wait for me to take photos? I couldn’t even wait! I have enjoyed so many different plates at Sophia’s from the duck to veal Sophia’s and zucchini flowers to baked clams and, especially, the eggplant Rico’s. I have never been disappointed. In fact, I took a chance with the lobster which was fabulous (and I’m pretty sad that I forgot to take my leftovers!). The service is impeccable. IDC how many stars from Newsday, this place is underrated and definitely a gem!

I've been to a lot of restaurants in my neighborhood and this one is one of my favorite, I pass by it everyday for 7 yrs and this time we decided to make a reservation to try it out, the staff is very friendly and the food is everything it's full of flavor omg. Went with a party of 12 for a special occasion. We asked if there was a fixed menu to help with the cost. They said sure, we got a small portion of pasta, a small salad and a choice of chicken francese, a short rib, salmon, or veal parm. The food was ok and then the check arrived. They charged us over $85.00/pp!!! Our bill came out to $1500.00 with drinks and tips. I was taken back, seeing as we could have had steak and lobster, and it would have been cheaper. We spoke with Jose, the manager, and he rudely agreed that it would have been cheaper to order lobsters or steak off the menu, and he added that "WE asked for the fixed menu." I'm sure it was our mistake not to ask how much, but when I arrived home, I looked at the website, and the highest catering package was approx. $85 pp, which included hot and cold appetizers and filet mignon and lobster as choices as well. We did not receive any of those options. The catering package closest to what we received was approx $55/pp. I tried to attach the packages to the review but it wont let me. They totally took advantage of us for not asking and just assuming the cost pp would be cheaper than just ordering off the menu. The manager gave us a gc, but we couldn't apply it to this astronomical bill, and we won't be going back, so that was a useless gesture. This ruined a beautiful celebration and really not worth the money for food that was good, not great, just good.

On 3/4/23 My friends and I had dinner at Sophia's. Dinner and service were fine. My friend and I both had the stuffed veal chop and raw oysters. On Monday both of us become ill and as of today, I'm still not 100%. I went to Sophia's today to speak to a manager. I waited at the door for about 10 minutes and finally found a waiter who stated the manager will not arrive till 4 PM. I told him my concerns and he acknowledged and walked away. I understand how things happen but complaints should be taken more seriously and some kind of apology was in order.

Amazing Food, Attentive Staff, Pretty Place(Dining and Bar) Nice set up. Decorated Nice for Valentines and the Place stayed Busy.

We had our Union party here. 2nd time. The food is delicious. Everything they served was delicious. The waiters were very attentive. We had our own private room and had the privacy we needed to have our fun. There is parking in the back that I didn’t know the first time. Will be back with my family.

Went for dinner with family. Traditional service, so don't expect them to be your best friend. That's my favorite type of service. Wine selection was decent for a small place. Place just had enough people, never a wait but always changing table tops. Osso Buco was very flavorful and tender. Big bone, so lots of lovely marrow, yum! Family ordered an array of things, veal milanese, fra diavlo and pastas. All on point, flavorful and delicious. no complaints. Dessert was kinda fun, always like the sorbet or the gelato in the fruit. Reminds me of something fresh, even though if we dont know how long its been frozen for. Refreshing digestif or, as i went wit, scothc neat to conclude my dining experience. Cheers!

This was a nice surprising find! the food was delicious and authentic with nice portions, the fish that I had ordered was exceptional it melted in my mouth! Good service and atmosphere as well.

Blown away by the food. Very fish order is amazing. The homemade past is fantastic. Cannot wait to go back for lobster night.

Second time in this restaurant, first time, the food was great this time the fried Calma was very chewy stuffed clams were like rubber ask them for median rest steak mine and my wife’s came back well done I will never go back there again. If it was up to me, they would get zero stars.

Great happy hour spot. Bartenders were friendly and live music was entertaining. We ordered the zuppa di clams, eggplant rico, italian hot peppers, burrata & tomatoes, the deep fried zucchini and drinks. oh

The place is definitely a bit dated and nothing too pleasing on the eyes, but the wait staff treated their tables well and the food is tasty enough. Definitely worth a visit to form your own opinion. I recommend the pork chop Parmesan as a main dish. It was unique and juicy. It does get a bit noisy at times in the main dining area, so be prepared to talk over it and listen intently to your wait staff and your table's conversation.

Excellent dishes sometimes a little bit smaller on portions considering the prices. But overall I’ve always had a nice experience with my friends. Just make sure you prepare to park behind the building or you’ll do U-turns on Merrick Road in Amityville

The food was amazing. We were in farmingdale on a Friday night and it was too packed for us. We decided tk fond somewhere else a little more pur speed. This place was definitely on the higher end side of Italian in the area. I ordered steak and it was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. We had dessert and even some coffee. Everything was very good.

Food was bland not flavorful. nothing that I would say I'm definitely going back there. The coke was excellent...alot of restaurants have a bad mix with soda. Service was excellent though and waiters were very attentive.

We had the lamb chops,Talapia off the specials, buratta and soup of the day. All impeccable. The complimentary bread was fabulous. Our waiter,Marcos was fantastic. I liked it so much that applied for a job.

I ordered the Chicken Parm for take out ..It wasn't good but awesome . Definitely Organic Chicken that melts in your mouth tender and delicious. Since I owned a restaurant I know great food.. Former Owner of Luca Bella White Plains.. What was impressive was the customer service.. I had a question about preparation and the owner came out his name is (RICO) and answered all my questions.. He was so gracious and accommodating I decided to reorder for the next day and had 2 days of the Chicken Parm... It's a nicely appointed a little outdated place with white cloth service with a great mature crowd. As for the service I think it is great because any questions I had they were able to accommodate us.. Worth the trip
