REVIEW: MIMI HAIR BRAIDING LLC Located @450 Central Ave, East Orange, NJ Service: Knotless Braids 1/29/23 Enough is Enough. I have put up with this for years and will not be going back ever. Please stop Patronizing these businesses that don't respect or appreciate you as a customer. Mimi and her workers are very unprofessional and do not know how to talk to people. You have to go through Mimi to book all appointments, but it's like pulling teeth. She acts as if her services are being provided for free. She takes forever to respond, gives you the run around, and when she finally books the appointment it's still not guaranteed. You can request an appointment with a specific hair braider, but when you get there they say I'm not doing that today or I didn't know anything about the appointment. Not only is your time not valued, but they are completely out of line with their attitudes and tone when addressing you. I think they forget that this is a 2 way street, they need us as customers just as much as we prefer them and I say prefer because there are a million braiding shops. Their work is good but at what cost. We as customers need to start holding these businesses accountable and demand better customer service or walk out and go somewhere else. These business owners need to HUMBLE themselves cause without customers there is No Business.

I went here on November 9 around 11 am as a walk in customer and requested a specific style. The woman near to the door gave me the dirtiest look after I told her what style I wanted. If the style is “too cheap” for you to do, just say so. No need for the dirty looks and gossiping in your language about the customer. I ended up going to the other Mimi’s braiding shop near Blink fitness and they gave me NO problems and no attitude

This is the WORST hair braiding salon my family and I have ever been to! Do NOT go here unless you want to sit here for hours unattended to even if you have an appointment. Actually setting an appointment here is completely USELESS because they disregard it every time. They will say “they forgot” about the appointment even though you have a text confirmation which says otherwise. These people are some of the most UNPROFESSIONAL and DISRESPECTFUL people I’ve ever encountered. They disrespect you, your time, and your hair. The worst of them all is the owner and the owner’s sister. They are very rude. If you’re looking for a braider, go somewhere else unless you want to experience THE WORST HAIR BRAIDING EXPERIENCE EVER!

I would love to give them some stars. Spoke to someone on the phone that told me they couldn’t do my hair on a particular day. I waited briefly for another offer like maybe the day after. The offer never came they just hung up. I imagine they have so much clientele they don’t need me as a customer. I’ve seen their work on other people and they braid nicely. Getting an appointment is the hard part I guess. So I won’t be getting the Mimi experience. I had to go somewhere else. Good luck getting her to take u.

Sat- 10/14- 8 HRS of travel... what a disappointment!! I moved to NC 10 years ago and this is my first trip back to Mimi... NOT only did I travel over 8 hrs, I traveled with 5 MORE customers.... Well . lets just say that 200 HUMAN HAIR MICRO BRAIDS - Was NOT HUMAN HAIR AT ALL! OMG .. SISTAS.... You come into the community , expect clients to pay for service and to be LIED to ( my feelings were hurt because I've been coming here since I was a teenager, now 42 prior to my move to NC) .. then I was told .. "everybody likes this hair" and if you want real hair its "80" a pack... okay.. so where is that here.. WE DONT HAVE IT! Meanwhile, over 50% of my hair was braided and my style was paid for in FULL.... WTH.... MONEY isnt the issue... the women who braided my hair, elder was SO SO SWEET and she did an amazing job on the actual braids.. AND i will be back to give HER a larger tip! . but listen here MIMI .. I had 5 WOMEN back at the hotel who would have paid $400 HUNDRED Dollars for HUMAN HAIR MICROS... but instead of me brining them back to you for service, I spend ANOTHER 8 hrs.. taking out this BRILLO PAD TEXTURE .. "HUMAN LIKE" HAIR.... and then we ALL took a train into NYC for $160 100% HUMAN HAIR BOX BRAID.... Please do better because I BELIEVE YOU CAN .. SINCERELY ALLAH IS ALL SEEING ........... REMEMBER THAT!

I got the knotless braids special and I would recommend this place and would go back again. I would recommend however to bring your own braiding hair that’s already washed. They use their own hair but it is not washed. The lady who did my hair did a good job. I got there at 8am, but texted the owner a few days in advance to lock in my appointment.

12/18/2021 I went and got some straight backs put in i didn't have any issues i went early in the morning so it was still empty i have about 10 braids with added hair i think i paid $90 but i only went there once so i cant leave much of a review because i got a basic style done

The girl that did my hair was very rude. I asked for medium box braids and before I could finish my sentence she cuts me off and says “we don’t freestyle, I need to see a picture!” With a dirty look. I’ve never had a stylist tell me that. And she had a nasty attitude throughout the rest of my appointment. I asked for medium knotless waste length box braids. I got butt length small knotless box braids. Would not recommend.
