Stopped by here yesterday with my Dog and great to see a dog friendly pub, was made to feel very welcome. The staff are great, very welcoming and polite. Compliments to the chef my Burger with cheese and japenos was delicious, burger was quality and lovely chips and fresh salad. 5 stars what a gem of a place and the food is amazing. Plus they have their tree and christmas decorations up as well :) Highly recommended

Their vegan menu is a must try! I got the vegan sausages and mash and I was very impressed with the rich flavours. They have an extensive vegan menu and if you’re only in Eastbourne for a day, this is the place to visit.

We discovered this pub by accident and let me tell you, it's a gem!! The staff are incredibly friendly and patient, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was 100% worth it. I got a crispy pork belly with all the trimmings and I was impressed with the quality of the food and also with how good the prices were! Definitely recommend!

First time visited, be careful as its not a Green king pub, menu is different. What we has was nice too. No car park which I could see, so have to park up on side streets.

Me and my wife had our wedding reception and wedding breakfast at the Crown and Anchor Pub. The Landlady was incredibly helpful and helped accommodate all our needs. On the night Olly and all the staff were brilliant they took all the stress off our shoulders and the event ran so smoothly. The buffet (£15pp at the time of writing) was absolutely delicious and the wedding breakfast was equally delicious. We highly recommend the Crown and Anchor Pub for dinner but also for hosting functions! Lastly but not least the function room has a private balcony and sea view!

Had a really great meal with the family here. Booked for a Saturday night, table for 6. The staff were really friendly and service was good. Nice selection of drinks, draft ales and lager, wines and spirits, also soft drinks for the kids. They had a good selection of quality pub grub and a good kids menu too. There was a great lively and friendly atmosphere too, no sterile silence. I had the steak and ale pie and it really had that home made feel, in a good way. It was packed full of tender meat and a lovely rich gravy with a fantastic pastry, not just the lid. Also the vanilla cheesecake was 🔥 super thin base with no excess sugar in it.

The pub itself is a good place. Went on a cover band night but only vaguely recognized two of the songs most likely because the average age in there that night was about 50 including the band. Still, they played well, the staff are reasonably friendly in the pub, it's got a nice outside area close to the seafront which is a plus. Little pricey but to be expected nowadays. The upstairs private function area also has a stage and a bar and a larger dance area and has played host to quite a few live events which has been good.

First time visiting The Crowne and Anchor, food was lovely and tasty and bar service very good. Only slight downside was the kitchen as the food orders seemed to be quite slow at coming out saying that the whole atmosphere was very pleasant and friendly and we will pop in again for food and drinks.

Fantastic pub! The food surpassed our expectations. We came in here for an early dinner escaping the rain outside and ended up having one of our best meals so far in Eastbourne. The staff were so kind, after I mentioned being cold they put the fire on for us and turned the radiators on which made us feel so welcome. The menu has such good variation, so happy to find somewhere I can have a good roast dinner on a week day. Can't fault the place. Will definitely be going back.

It's a great family pub and also dog friendly to sit outside for great food in the summer. The entertainment is also great for music lover. They also play BT Sport which is cool for football.

Having been in Eastbourne I thought I would review some of the most talked about places. The pub is large and has outdoor searing and dog friendly. The food menu is quite extensive with many specials offered as well. They are advertising their food as a selling point so I thought why not. The drinks selection is comprehensive and nice cocktails too. I ordered the crispy pork belly style Sunday roast. It took a little while to come out but was very average the skin was chewy not crispy and the mash was average. Maybe I came a bit too late and the food was already a bit old. However I did feel disappointed, considering it was nearly £15. Apart from that the service was great all the bar staff were friendly and helpful. I will come back and try some other dishes to check food quality. The location is great though with easy access to beach and nice views.

Visited for Sunday Roast today. We were there for 3 hours to be served 2 courses. The pub did get busy, as the football was on, but the staff seemed to be hanging about behind the bar chatting for most of the afternoon. The food was nice, I requested extra butter for my starter of bread and paté and the waitress actually sighed, and it seemed too much trouble to put a smile on her face. Very few potatoes on the mains and extra potatoes cost £4 for four potatoes. We gave up waiting to order any desserts after having to ask for a menu after finishing our mains, 45 minutes earlier.. it is a good sign for a place to be busy, but there seemed to be enough staff behind the bar, for them to have been more attentive

The place is nice, but I cannot understand people why they come for eating or having a drink so they can enjoy the place, but more of then went eating or drinking they had to talk very loud, it look some time like market, I hope that all the people should understand where they are going, if they likee to take please go to street food courts. The problem ribs is to dry.

This vibrant and popular traditional pub is one of Eastbourne's most iconic venues for dining, live entertainment, and sports entertainment. Without question, the food us excellent and varied. Whether you're a seeker of traditional fayre, ranging from roast dinners to delectable dishes, such as the Crown's ribs, or a committed vegan, the Crown's menu is varied enough to appeal to all tastes. And little people are certainly not forgotten. There's a creative menu for all age ranges. There's even a detailed spirits menu reflective of the professional team at the Crown. Located on Eastbourne's iconic seafront the Crown and Anchor is a must-visit location. Keep in mind that on certain sports nights the Crown can be quite lively, but always in good fun. There's never a problem with guests behaving. Without doubt, the professional staff are well respected and the message is clear and upheld by staff and guests alike - scallywags and ne'er-do-wells are not welcome! I highly recommend, without reservation. Best pub food in Eastbourne and a great place to rub elbows!

Only have the pie if you're a fan of food swimming in masses of strange oily gravy. The cabbage (we think) had a congealed mass of it on I'm not sure how long it had been plated up before it was served. The chilli was good.

Great good, nachos with a good layer of toppings. Lamb shank main, in an amazing gravy. The brilliant selection of veggies were let down by limp broccoli which was overcooked. Would that stop me visiting again, not a chance great food, fantastic staff service. Almost five star, almost… 4.6.

Have walked past many times, and it has always been busy. Nice atmosphere inside and a nice recently renovated outside area. Staff are friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The menu covers a large range of tastes, and a lot of dishes are homemade. Hubby had the Boston burger, which came with chips and coleslaw. He was very impressed with the burger being so tasty, and all of it was freshly cooked. I had the chilli con carni. Very nice 👌..didn't think it would have a kick at all, but it did just right. Rice was cooked perfectly. Garlic bread was a nice surprise, but don't bother with the salad. Well worth the money. We will be back as we want to try some more dishes 😋

Great Place on the seafront. Large choice of Beers and Wines. Sunday Roast very good. Steak and Ale pie very good. Moist, pleanty of gravey, accompanying vedge well cooked. Only dissalpointing dish was Garlick Mushrooms. Not a lot of taste. Overall a good choice for food and drinks. Buzzing atmosphere. Staff all at the top of their game. Outside seating area a great place to watch the world go by. Never boring. Live music some nights. Went 3 nights on the trott. So must have been good

Remarkably friendly and quick service. Very wide range of vegan and gluten-free dishes, which is really great as this is not yet offered in Germany. Unfortunately we were only there on the last day of our holiday, otherwise we would definitely have come back.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, excellent house gin and the Long Man bitter was glorious. Food portions were generous and the food itself was top notch. Could even smoke outside. If you're in Eastbourne treat yourself, you won't regret it.
