This
hotel
is
a
textbook
example
of
relying
on
its
history
to
sell
itself.
When
it
first
opened
and
during
the
twentieth
century,
I
can
see
how
it
could
be
perceived
as
a
luxurious
hotel,
but
that
is
no
longer
the
case.
In
reality,
any
good
and
modern
three-star
hotel
is
superior
to
the
grand
hotel.
The
rooms
are
old;
the
beds
are
far
too
soft
and
uncomfortable;
the
shower
head
was
broken;
and
there
is
no
air
conditioning.
I
could
continue,
but
you
get
the
idea.
The
breakfast
was
acceptable.
A
five-star
hotel
that
does
not
even
serve
natural
juices
for
breakfast
is
a
bad
sign.
There
are
some
expectations
for
a
five-star
hotel,
and
this
hotel
falls
far
short
of
those
expectations.
The
service
is
quite
good,
and
the
staff
is
attentive
and
professional,
but
this
does
not
compensate
for
how
bland
the
rooms
are.
I
cannot
recommend
this
hotel
for
the
price
of
a
single
night
at
£245.
