I cannot say enough good things about Chez Piggy! I booked a reservation to have something new and interesting to celebrate with my husband. And I am so happy I did! Our server Mike was so amazing and attentive, and the food was amazing! It is a little pricy but so worth it. I have been to more expensive places and this one is so much better. It is seriously worth the little extra money. I will definitely be going back. The drinks actually have kick and the food is so fresh and flavourful. Absolutely delicious. Perfect!

This was a great experience! First time to Kingston and to this restaurant. It comes highly reviewed, and I concur. It's a little tricky to find for first-timers because the sign doesn't really give it away. Follow the alley and it will open up to a beautiful courtyard patio not seen or disturbed by the street. Everything was wonderful. The ambiance, the energy, the friendly staff (Kasey is awesome), and the food. Some may consider the menu pricey. I don't mind paying for good food, and this is good food. I trust the pics will do it justice. Their in house strawberry shortcake on a biscuit and gin sangria are must haves!

Came here on a weeknight for dinner and was super impressed. This was my first time at this restaurant and had no idea what to expect. We were seated upstairs and it was very quiet, the server immediately came up and asked if we wanted any drinks and was super attentive. I ordered the scallops + bubbles and it was amazing. It is scallop risotto cooked in sparkling wine. The flavours were incredible and the scallops were cooked amazingly. I would love to come back and try something different from their menu.

Our server was absolutely wonderful, and did her absolute best to make sure our experience was as enjoyable as possible. Very capable and amiable. The food however was not to our taste as the flat iron steak was very salty and the confit duck was very dry.

We celebrated our return to Canada after a long absence caused by the pandemic with a meal at Chez Piggy. Great choice. I started with their fresh spinach salad with a light vinaigrette dressing. Then, both my bride and I ordered the scallops on a bed of risotto. The scallops were absolutely delictable. I savored every bite. I was too full for dessert, so I enjoyed a vintage scotch to finish. It was a memorable celebration. I believe in magic!

This is one of the best restaurants in Kingston. They do have a wonderful selection of vegetarian and pescatarian options. I love their Cauliflower Steak, and my partner always gets the Linguini Aglio Olio. The outside patio has been absolutely lovely, especially with the heighten care to observe COVID precautions. The staff are friendly and the service is excellent. I highly recommend this place.

Love this place, it is neat and clean. The menu offers a variety of flavors - Greek, Italian, Asian and more. The sandwiches are big and delicious. The potato chips are warm and fresh. The nachos is loaded, it is a meal on its own. The gnocchi is creamy and nicely done. The pita bread is paired with generous servings of flavorful humus. The cuttleries come with pretty napkins, I hope they sell it in their gift shop.

This place has the best service by far!! I loved the waitress, the atmosphere, the food. everything! You should try the bread and butter they have! We ordered the spring rolls to share (the best and most original I’ve tried so far!), one glass of wine and two different biers, chowder seafood (don’t remember the name) and β€œdo ewe believe in magic”. This was by far the plate we ordered. There was no space for desert. The bill was around $150.00 It’s not s place to go d every weekend, but definitely it’s worth for special celebrations.

On our way to Toronto, we decide to do a lunch stop at Chez Piggy. It’s one of the restaurants in Kingston where you can eat in the terrace outside with your dog. We ordered the PEI oysters and it was super fresh: rating 8.5 out of 10 The main lunches which we ordered, Korean fried chicken sandwich, fish cakes, club sandwich and grilled cheese and salad were quite tasty. Overall rating for the lunch courses: 7.3 out of 10. Eating at a restaurant with your dog is priceless. Rating 10 out of 10.

Recently had my parents visit and we chose Chez Piggy for dinner. It is very clear that the team at Chez Piggy is taking every precaution they can to create a COVID-safe dining experience. Having experienced their level of professionalism, I will think twice about the safety of some other local spots. Great menu, great meals. You can't go wrong at Chez Piggy for a finer dining experience downtown.

This place is very cozy and well decorated. The oysters are amazing. The salad was good and the grilled chicken on top was just OK. Heidi the server has worked here over 35 years and is truly a treasure for this place. The covid measures are top notch! Plexiglass shields around EACH table. Thank you so much Heidi!! And kudos to the chef!

Second time here and it wasn’t quite as good as I remember. Food was still good quality and cooked beautifully but the composition/presentation was a little off to me - didn’t have the balance and visual appeal I was expecting. However, the service was excellent! The biggest issue we had was when one of our party got their to-go dessert. I’m not convinced a two-bite brownie and a little bit of sauce can ever been deemed as worth the price they charged for it.

Food was amazing still. So nice that this is still a great Kingston destination - my last visit was nearly 20 years ago. We enjoyed appetizers, mains, and dessert. Sat on the patio - it was lovely. Service was a bit slow to start (new waitress) but we got through just fine.

Came here for lunch at the recommendation of our B&B host. It's located in a quaint little alley with a number of other restaurants. They appear to have outdoor seating, but the weather wasn't conducive to that today. We were very pleased with our food. We shared the spring rolls as a starter. I enjoyed the muscles as my main and my husband had the crab cakes. Thumbs up for both. Service was good, as well.

$12 is really expensive for an incredibly small and average ceasar. Not impressed with what is apparently the best ceasar in Kingston.

One of the best spots for food in Kingston. Wow, amazing experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely phenomenal and what made the experience perfect was the outstanding customer service. Gregg thank you for being such an amazing host.

Grabbed lunch here with a big group of people and we were all very pleased with our food! We made the fantastic choice of sharing plates so I got to try a bit of everything: *Hummus + Pita: Comes with a couple of ingredients you'll find in a greek salad. It was good! *Crispy glazed duck drumettes: A tad spicy from the gochujang but wonderful flavour. It might not be a crowd pleaser but it was a pleasant surprise to me. *Cha Gio spring rolls: Amazing! If you're looking for something everyone will like, this is it. *Tom Yum Talay: Very popular, according to our server. It could've used a bit more seafood and it was a bit spicy but this was my favourite dish I tried. *Beet, Goat, Avocado salad: Ordered this with chicken on the side. The avocado was creamy but I found the flavour of the beets to be too overpowering for my taste (but if you're a fan of beets, you might like this!) *Linguini Aglio Olio: A favourite among our table. *Summer in the city: The taste of pesto was amazing! Very tasty dish. Our server was incredible and very helpful. I would love to come back any time!

I would like to take a moment to express our experience on August 21 at your restaurant. My partners were thrilled to visit Chez Piggy for the first time to celebrate his birthday. Unfortunately, the experience from reservation to in-person was less than what we expected. The wait to be served took between 15-20 minutes long, and the food's quality and flavour were not meeting its reputation and nowhere near as good as it used to be. I ordered the iced dirty chai tea, and I was disappointed with how it tasted. The balance between the chai tea and espresso was completely off. We ordered fries, calamari, and the specials of the night. The fries were basic from presentation to flavour, and the calamari was served cold and had to be sent back for a remake. The remake tasted better, but the flavour, texture, and presentation were still basic. I questioned the quality and was told it wasn't from frozen. I think there's a need to re-evaluate the level of excellence of these dishes. Our first course was poorly executed, from presentation to flavour. I sent it back, and my partner got a Caesar salad as a replacement, which was not their favourite. Receiving a full bill without any effort made to recover our poor experience was disappointing. Though you made an effort to remove the calamari and drinks from the bill, those are basic customer service gestures in the industry. We were hoping for something above and beyond to recover from the experience. It felt like there was almost instant deflection and defensiveness every time feedback was given. As a frequent customer, I found today's experience disappointing as a whole. I hope this feedback will inspire your restaurant to find new ways to improve the current menu and better focus on customer service to go above and beyond to provide exceptional experiences for others.

This has become a regular place for us to stop for lunch during our drive between Toronto and Ottawa/Montreal. Their courtyard patio is really nice and their food options are great. They are also open to customization. The Chez Piggy club sandwich and the Grilled Cheese avocado toast are our favourites.

This was the best restaurant experience that I have had in many years! I can remember coming to Chez Piggy for various family celebrations, so I thought I would pop in for dinner on October 3. I was welcomed warmly as soon as I entered the restaurant. My server was efficient and courteous. As far as the meal meant it did not disappoint. I started with a flavourful tomato based morrocan bean soup with the in-house fresh bread, followed by the rack lamb chops, which were perfectly cooked. I finished the meal with a dessert called Sweetie Pie, a key lime pie with coconut cream and candied lime. If you are ever in Kingston, Chez Piggy should be your first call!

Came here for a night out while in Kingston. Place is neatly tucked into an internal courtyard with a wonderful patio. We choose to go inside, and had a wonderful dinner. Service was excellent and the options were diverse and interesting. My wife did not totally love her dumplings but the rest was great and ambiance brought it up a notch. Definitely worth the visit.

My girlfriend and I had a very lovely dinner at the restaurant last weekend. The building is very beautiful with the stone as the shining star. The crispy glazed duck drumettes and the baby greens & nabulsi salad were excellent! We also really enjoyed the mushroom gnocchi. The only misstep was that the braised short rib needed more sauce, it was a touch on the dry side. Everything else was on point, the service, cocktails, dessert. I would come back again.

Absolutely loved our dinner, the food was amazing as was the service, and the atmosphere was very cozy and warm on a cold fall evening. The plates were just the right amount of food, not too much and not too small a portion, so you had room for all 3 courses. Worth it for a date night or special occasion for sure!

I've been going here with my family for years, always fantastic dishes.. it also serves the bear Ceaser ! I ordered the 3 course pre fixe. It changes according to the day I guess. It started with Salad and croquette, was good. Nice and light... it the portion was small.. for the main, it was rack of boar.

Visited this place for a brunch on Sunday. Very cool place, the interior design has a vintage look to it. The patio is in an alley away from the road which is very nice and quite. The food is delicious and has a homy taste. The service is good. We got seated right away and the waitress was very attentive.

This is a lovely restaurant with kind staff and a beautiful atmosphere (having primarily eaten in the patio area). The food is very pricey for fairly small portions, look forward to spending at least 30 on most entrΓ©es, but it is well made and gourmet and hasn't disappointed yet. It is a good place for the feeling of a semi-decadent night out.

Holy. Cow. We found this little hidden treasure after doing amazing escape rooms at Improbable Escapes. And boy, were we happy with this pick! The service is incredible, the food is unbelievably good, and the atmosphere is its own genre, like a casual fine dining. Elegant cuisine with a familial vibe. Perfect for a date, a dinner with friends, or for any other occasions! Great wine selection and a appetizing menu. We will definitely be back! P.S. oh, also, their sanitary and safety measures are astounding! Masks up everytime the server approaches and plexiglass between all tables. Truly, we never felt safer!

Was recommended by our concierge to come here; they were spot on! The place is a cozy little rustic place within a beautiful courtyard. A true hidden gem. We tried a number of dishes and each one was better than the last. I recommend everything on the menu. Topped off with some mimosas and coffees.

We got recommended Chez piggy from a friend and it did not disappoint. Fish cakes were delicious, but could've been crispier for the texture. Steak tartare was also delicious, but could have used A touch of salt for best flavour. The frites and lemon garlic aioli were unreal. Short ribs were mouth watering, accompanied with the mushrooms demiglaze and spun potatoes. duck confit was all off the bone and its sides were succulent as they were sweet and satisfying Over all dinner was top notch. Our server was also really cool and down to earth. He was on the ball even though he was swamped with 4 tables and still managed to serve us in a timely manner. Would recommend

A neat little restaurant down an alleyway. Portions were smaller than expected but good food nonetheless.

Good service and ambience, very clean, but very small portions and poached eggs undercooked.

  • 4/5 Pascal Creative D. 3 years ago on Google
Some pretty good food and the service was very acceptable. However, for quite an expensive place (aprx $30/entree), the service was too casual in my opinion. The site itself, old abandoned stable converted into this restaurant, is outstanding.

It was okay but didn't live up to the hype. We were so looking forward to coming here due to good reviews but that wasn't what we experience. It could be a matter of preference too but even the fries did not meet our regular expectation. And we were starting when we got here, we were ready to eat. Food was bland, although each piece of seafood tasted fresh, not enough flavors. The servers were really polite though and the place was following covid protocols.

Great patio space, great food and good service. I even helped myself to some of the grapes (not seedless) growing next to me πŸ˜… and those were delicious too haha. Seriously though, this place is worth trying. The steak was chewy but juicy. The burger had a great mix of veggies and sauce... I may talking myself into going again.

Had a great evening dinner at Chez Piggy! Food was excellent and quick. Great local drink selection. Had a nice pint of Matron. All the staff made sure we were very comfortable in the outdoor patio while maintaining a safe distance from other guests. Will definitely come back for brunch/lunch/drinks! Also - Bring a facemask!
