The room was fine, staff was nice. But the pool was closed an entire day, and I have an 18 month old. We booked only because if the splash pad. Which we couldn’t use. Also they “didn’t have” double tubes so my older niece and I couldn’t use the bigger slid. They also wouldn’t allow me to hold my little one on my lap to go down the smaller slide even with the kiddie pool being closer. So we literally had nothing for the whole day. Asked for action city passes to compensate and was told no. And was not given any resort fees back. Very frustrating, as we wouldn’t have stayed the extra night for the pool had it been closed. Also no one informed us of this, we just found out when we went down to the pool.

Would Not Stay Again The rooms and hotel, overall were clean and well kept. The water park was fun for the kids but it’s definitely seen better days. My biggest complaint, however, is the paper thin walls. The bed frames are metal so every time someone bumped into it you could hear it and the constant running and thumping in the rooms around us kept us up well after 10. I know when at a hotel you expect a certain amount of extra noise but I honestly can’t remember the last time we stayed in a hotel that was this bad. With plenty of other options to stay in the area I would advise booking elsewhere.

Great place me and my family had a fun time. I came all the way from Indiana. The staff is super friendly. The rooms are pretty clean and the indoor pool is nice. It’s not the biggest but it’s got everything you need with the lazy river kids area and two sides. I left my fire stick there on accident and the manager even mailed it back to me. Very nice of her.

Great rooms. Great service by employees. Awful business planning, hence the overall 1 star. "We have water slides!!" but not on Wednesday's, which is advertised no where so when our older kids get there they get to play on the....splash pad? "Bottomless Soda!" signs, psych, "They're bottles, that deal was pre covid." I'm sorry but pre covid was over 3 years ago now, maybe it's time to take those signs down. Why are you as a business owner putting your associates in a position to deal with customers who will no doubtedly complain about these kinds of things. Thank you to the associates who took care of us.

Wonderful people! Lovely paths behind the hotel. Was there last fall. There was a view behind the hotel of 3 red maples that was spectacular! The in-house restaurant had good food and friendly service, although in October it wasn't always open. In October the very nice, small to medium water park and other amenities also weren't open all the time. Check if that is your interest. Rooms had nice amenities. Most importantly, there was coffee in the lobby at all times!...and it was pretty good with real 1/2&1/2.

Love this resort! The team members are amazing! Each year we come they’ve improved something. We always rave about our time here each time we come home. Always recommend this place to our friends and family.

We didn't even know about the entertainment complex attached to this place, we were just traveling for work and love to stay in off-brand hotels. I do wish the arcade would have been open, but it was still a really cool place to stay, and it was snowing, so I don't expect everything to be working as usual. Very nice, comfortable room, friendly staff.

We had a fantastic 2 night getaway at Metropolis. The hotel is clean and well maintained, the staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, the water park and action city were perfect for our family. Also loved the dog friendly rooms. If I had a complaint it would be the dim lighting in the rooms. Or the extra fee to check-in early or check out late. But, none of those things were a deal breaker for us. We will absolutely be back. Our kids cried when we left. Fun family weekend!

Rented a whirlpool suite for the night before graduation since my friends were staying here and I found a decent price on the internet. The room was beautifully clean and fairly well appointed.. The layout was decent although a bit crowded. My room had no comfortable chair although theirs did. Their chief complaint was only one nightstand for a king bed. There was an itty bitty kitchenette area with mini fridge, microwave, and counter space next to a raised table with two stools. The whirlpool tub was lovely for one person and a bit small for two people especially if they are larger. There was a fireplace next to the whirlpool tub I didn't even try since I run hot. The bathroom had a decent layout as well with a small wall separating the toilet from the sink and a shower/tub. My chief complaint other than the lack of a place to just sit was the climate control/air handling system which was quite loud and provided uneven temps. I set it to cool and when it was on I was okay but it got quite warm between cycles and I woke up sweating in the middle of the night. The room rental came with up to six guest passes to Chaos water park, which can still be used the following day after you check out. We spent the afternoon enjoying the larger whirlpool hot tub which was pretty good except when unsupervised children would cannonball in. I got out a few times to cool off in the lazy river. Luckily it was not crowded the day we were there.

This hotel was nice to stay at. Better suited for kids under 10. With only two large slides, it got boring for my older kids, but we still had fun. Action city was fun as well. If you planned one day for the water park and one day for action city you’d be set. Food at City Eats is ok, but there’s lots around to go to. The pullout sofa sleeper was excruciating to sleep on, you can feel every spring in it, so you’re better off bringing an air mattress. Overall, it was a good stay, we made memories and that’s what counts!

Yeah this place is definitely overpriced. Booked the room online and never got a confirmation email. So of course when we did the online check out, the price wasn’t what we booked. They basically said they have “flexed” prices for hotel occupancy. So they raised the price without even a courtesy call or email about it. Rooms were dirty, no soap, beds were uncomfortable, and every time you bump into the bed it makes rattle noise you can hear through the walls. Would recommend contacting the place after booking online and have them send a confirmation email, but also wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The hotel, action city & water park were fun for the whole family! We will definitely come back. The service in the restaurant needs work though. We ended up walking out after being one of the only two tables in there and being completely ignored. It is a shame because it's a nice restaurant and had some good selections. Service needs work though the four people working didn't look like they even wanted to be.

Vacationed here this summer and had so much fun! The water park was super nice and family friendly, the rooms were cozy but in need of a few small upgrades. The location was a very nice and was only a short quick drive to the best Eau Claire has to off.

This was our first stay at Metropolis. We enjoy visiting waterparks in the surrounding area and this one was really fun. It was nice to have the trampoline park attached to the hotel. The waterpark was nice, perfect for our younger kiddos (3&5). The restaurant was really good and the staff were very friendly. My only suggestion is to bring earplugs and your own pillows. Also, there is free regular coffee but no coffee shop at the resort. Plenty of coffee shops in the area though.

I have it a 4 stars because my room air conditioner clicked when off the first part of my stay and the WiFi sucked in the hotel rooms. The water park is a fun place to take the kids and there lots to do to keep them busy . The food options were delicious and affordable.

Great place for a family trip! Perfect setup for our kids of 9 & 5! Water park was just the right level for them and they enjoyed all of action city as well. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the room was very clean and organized. They did a great job with the lobby decorations as well, and made sure the kids enjoyed all aspects of the trip. A really great all in one spot to stay for a family vacation!

I’ll admit the waterpark was small, but the arcade made up for that. We had an absolutely fantastic time there. And everything was perfect. I love that there were good options right in Action City, and a nice bar and restaurant that was separated from the noise, with windows looking out at the go carts, which is nice for the adults. Everyplace in the resort was clean and maintained. I really couldn’t ask for a nicer and more comfortable place to vacation. And since I have family in Eau Claire, WI, this is now my go-to lodging when I go visit!!

This was our first trip to Metropolis! We enjoyed our entire 3 days at the resort. There is so much to do you are kept busy from the moment you wake up until 10pm at night when things shut down. We found the pricing of the prizes you can earn from Action City to be quite high, but that wasn't the end of the world. We enjoyed the breakfast at Action City Grille to start our day! We also had a couple dinners and lunches there as well. All food was great, service was AWESOME, and pricing on food and drinks was outstanding! We really enjoyed the outdoor attractions the first night but unfortunately it was too windy and chilly to do much and some of those things were closed the second day. ALL staff members that we encountered were very informative, kind, fast, and helpful. They all seemed to be enjoying there jobs! The pull out couch is not comfortable, and there is nothing overly special about the rooms but since your kept so busy with all other attractions available to you it didn't really bother us much. I am so glad that we choose to try this for our Kid's MEA break!

I would definitely recommend this resort. It is well staffed and maintained. The food is good. Action City is fun and decently priced. Chaos Water park is better than average for an indoor park. Personal preference: The hot tub is in a wonky location. The large dump bucket does not have a warning bell. Which isn't a huge deal, but I know some kiddos would appreciate it. Either to be there in time or to avoid the huge splash. My autistic kiddo took a while to adjust to the sheer surprise nature of it, but others may not. The wall mural was quite interesting. Did I mention the staff keeps everything clean and well maintained? Because they do. City Eats gets a shout out as well, for quality food at a reasonable price. My youngest had us eat there 3 times in two days. My only complaint. Some lifeguards seemed lax in calling out horseplay, shenanigans, and similar behavior. I get it, boys in groups are gonna revert to base behavior. Add in a dash of excitment disregulation and things could get dicey. Especially for people around them. Overall, if you are looking for enjoyable place to stay with kiddos, this is a definite destination for you.

The room was inexpensive and nice, and the beds were comfortable. Unfortunately, breakfast, coffee, and any other usual amenities were unavailable due to off-season. They were also out of detergent in the store. In addition, the late checkout fee was almost the cost of the room because they charge you a percentage of what the room typically costs, not what it costs you. I thought it was a bit ridiculous, but I needed to do laundry and paid it anyway. The staff were very nice and under understanding. Our only issues were with hotel policies.

We stayed at this resort in September and loved everything about it. The waterpark was perfect for our 6 year old, action city had a ton do, City Eats was so delicious that we went there three times and staff were wonderful. The room could have used a few upgrades but we were so happy with our stay that we didn't notice. We can't wait to stay again!

Clean and fun for kids. Pool was great! The restaurant has great food- recommend the omelets. Doors/walls/ceilings are super thin, and it was noisy later into the evening. Somewhat overpriced for what you get.

Awesome! figuring out a la cart v hourly pass was a challenge with a 4 and 6 year old. depends on the kids. go carts for 3hrs - do the pass. Any way you slice it, you're burning threw a few bucks so go with it and have fun. Great crew, lots of fun. +1 on chuck e cheese

Overpriced for sure. The bed was comfortable, the pillows are awful. They feel like the are much overdue to be replaced. Lumpy and miserable. The Waterpark was enjoyable until our 8 year old slipped at the top of the waterside fell, hitting his face on the railing and scrapped his shoulder. He needed attention and was completely ignored by the lifeguard. We had to get ice for his face from the snack stand and monitor for a concussion. He's left with a black eye and scuffed shoulder. The other guests were rude and left the doors open for others in the group to go between rooms allowing the doors to slam every time for many hours. No one masked even though they give materials stating you must. We voiced our complaints at the front desk to which the gal responded "oh, were updating the paper soon". She had nothing to say about the inept lifeguard. On the plus. The food was decent pub food.

Great family resort if you don't want to go to one of those large resorts. Plenty to keep everyone busy. Beds were very comfortable and the rooms just right. Had a nice area for the refrigerator and microwave and to keep your snacks, etc. The bathroom was spacious and the extra sink is helpful.

This place knows how to do it right. The staff was always friendly. The room was nice. The arcade staff was helpful. The front desk staff was thorough and pleasant. The food was good. The wait staff was amazing!! I'd go here before the Dells. Great place.

Truly a great place! I was there over the weekend to DJ a wedding in their Skybox Banquet Hall, and loved it. Super attentive staff, clean and super well maintained event room. Even better, they have Chaos Water park and action city, where i was able to let my daughter play (with supervision) in the pool, arcade and trampoline park. Their Hotel rooms are seriously great, clean, and super comfy. And for eats the Pub has seriously good food. I loved my breakfast, and even though they were super busy, I got my eats in less than ten minutes. I highly recommend Metropolis, and am looking forward to my next trip up there to DJ at a wedding and let my daughter enjoy everything they have to offer.

I went to the caos water park side of things. This place is awesome for kids and adults alike. The lazy river needs a better filter, otherwise it is a pretty clean place. Maybe turn the heat up just a little in the medium sized main pool.

  • 5/5 Dana E. 2 years ago on Google
We stayed at the resort, just got home actually, and felt compelled to write a review because of how many times my husband and I both noticed amazing customer service, throughout the hotel. The pub staff, lifeguards, everyone I talked to on the phone was so friendly and genuinely nice. We had a great time with our 7,4,and 1 year old. Our room was clean and honestly no complaints.

  • 3/5 Anna R. 2 years ago on Google
It was weird and ungodly expensive. Let me preface with what I do like. The staff, awesome! They were friendly and helpful. It was clean. There's a microwave and fridge in the room. Now, here's what I don't like. The curtains in the room looked like they stole Minnie mouse's bow. The carpet didn't match the decor. The lighting was weird. I woke up a sweaty mess because of the waterproof mattress pad and pillow cover. Basically, the esthetic wasn't worth the money. All of that said, this isn't the kind of place to stay for a night without enjoying the fun they have there. I didn't get to experience that, so I can't speak to it. If you're looking for a place to stay for a night, get a motel. If you're wanting to have fun, go check out those weird curtains.

We had a great time when we visited for two nights in March 2022. Everyone was very kind and took great care of us!! We forgot a stuff animal and went through their lost and found process online. It took awhile to here back and when we did I submitted for the item to be shipped to us at my cost (which was totally fine, as it was our fault). This then took some time again and today, Sept 1st, we received our lost item. Kelly, Director of Operations, personally wrote us a card and took care of us. It was very kind of her and we appreciate it. We look forward to our next visit!!!

For one of the entire days of our stay all of the attractions were closed, and we didn't know why. (We assumed sanitization/cleaning) We weren't able to try the water park during our stay for that reason. The arcade and all the other attractions were great however, the food was pretty pricy but was good overall. All of the employees did well and were quick to fix or help with things. The room sizes can be small or cramped and the design is aging a bit and needs an update. The location was good though as it wasn't far from stores, gas or food.

My family booked the evening of 12-31-21 in room 102. We wanted to do something fun with a family atmosphere for my kids but still get out for new years. We checked in at around 6:30pm. Dropped our bags and were going to swim. As soon as we took our shoes off we had wet socks . I went and reported this to the desk and they never sent maintenance, said he was on break. We used all of our bathroom towels to cover the floor by the leaking wall the heater was in. After swimming we tried to shower but after 1 shower the tub was plugged. Called the desk, no answer. We figured that we might hear a little noise because of the new year, but we did not expect the hotel to tolerating multiple rooms going crazy with drunks until 1am. We almost left and drove back home to get some sleep but I didn't want to ruin my kids night out. I have stayed here a few times, and I'm not sure I would spend almost $300 for a night of swimming again. It would be nice if there was a quiet time so the kids and parents could get some sleep. It's noisy. Maybe it was for covid but there is a spot but no coffee maker in the room either.

  • 3/5 Tatyana V. 1 year ago on Google
Rooms are okay, kind of dated but clean. I'm not sure who's bright idea was to cover the bottoms of the beds with sheet metal, but if you kick it by accident it makes very loud sound. The kid in the neighbor room was kicking it all evening. The water park was good, but also need some renovations. The tall slide was very bumpy. The kids zero depth play area was filled with iced water. When we noted it to a staff member, she said her manager made a mistake.

Nice hotel. they have some nice stuff like snacks and medications near registration you can buy and a great coffee machine. We got a room with a whirlpool and that was very nice and a nice availability in some rooms as well as a well not real but still cool, fake fireplace and some rooms also have a balcony which i thought was amazing.

Very nice place. Our room was really spacious, the waterpark was good and had something for everyone, and the game room/trampoline park was huge. Only issue was our AC in the room wasn't working the 2nd night. Wouldn't get below 78 but it didn't ruin our vacation. I would recommend this resort for couples or families.

  • 4/5 Lisa V. 1 year ago on Google
Everything was great about the room, except when we took off the sheet because I wanted to get clean sheets rather than the whole room cleaned, we noticed the sheets were absolutely DISGUSTING! It seemed as though the sheets hadn't been washed in a very long time and were very soiled. We washed them ourselves and they came out completely white. It was really gross that that was the case.

  • 5/5 Nate T. 1 year ago on Google
We had a great time. There was no reason for us to leave the resort. The restaurant on site was delicious. We made a point of buying the game pass for each day we were there which allowed the video games to be free. So for those gaming fathers and sons this a lone paid for itself for us. And the kid had a blast at the water park.

I definitely recommend having your wedding at Metropolis! Not only do they provide so many of the essentials when it comes to wedding planning (hotel block, rehearsal dinner, venue, decorations, bar), but they do it so well! Our party had an absolute blast at action city the night of the rehearsal dinner. Go-karting, laser tag, and more! The decorating Metropolis did for our Halloween wedding was awesome! Sam was an absolute pleasure to work with! She was always quick to respond to my inquiries and was very clear, precise and easy to work with! Emma and the team was fantastic to work with the day of the wedding! Thank you Metropolis!!

  • 4/5 yue h. 1 year ago on Google
It's alright for the price if your going all day. They definitely need to clean more. You can see the residue that the chlorine leaves on most parts of the playground and and the big slides could use a wipe. Otherwise water is clean and it is very fun for an indoor waterpark considering it is Eau Claire. Went on a Sunday and it wasn't as busy I could of riden the big slides all day no problem 👍

  • 5/5 All M. 1 year ago on Google
Staff is great, especially Erin, the girl who works night. She was so helpful and sweet! I would stay again just because of her. The waterpark and arcade were fun as always. The beds are very comfortable! They also provide fans if asked. Recommend it for a fun family getaway. Our toddler loved it!
