This hotel is a great place to stay. The location is excellent and right in downtown Aschaffenburg. What I liked best about my stays was that the staff genuinely care to make your stay a pleasant one. They really go the extra mile. I highly recommend staying here if you intend to stay in Aschaffenburg.

High quality food but the balance and presentations are lacking. The flavour of the night was... horseradish. Service slightly uneven things being missed or delayed. But the food is well cooked and overall experience makes the place a 4 star.

The best Wiener Schnitzel in town. My girlfriend is alergic to nuts and we asked to change a dish. The chef came to our table and explained what he changed and which combination to the dish he did to harmonize the plate. Amazing. Never had such experience here in Germany.

Was at the restaurant to eat, and had high hopes. We got a tongue-salad, and a mozzerella salad as starters. They were both above average, but the maincourses went in two different directions. A sea bass-dish, I believe, that was beyond magnificent, but then I myself got the driest confit de canard I have ever tasted. I don't understand how it could have been dry, but it was served as a drumstick and a breast, and the breast was just like sand in the mouth. Battered very beautifully however, but taste was 0/10. :D I hope the chef gets an asskick, but in this line of business he/she probably already works in another place, as it's a few years ago. :) I'm sorry this had to be a hotel-review but couldn't find a restaurant only review.

Lovely family run hotel where staff are beyond friendly and helpful. The level of service is like a 5star hotel and food I'm the restaurant is delicious. Sadly, they don't have a lift which means I can't stay as much as I would like

Very friendly staff, rooms are spacious but a little outdated with regard to interior but clean and nice. Excellent location near town centre.

We spent 2 nights here Aug. 2022. We really enjoyed our stay, and would recommend to others. First of all, the staff and owners were wonderfull people - very welcoming and friendly. We had many interactions with the staff, and 100% of those were exceptional. 2nd - You cannot ask for a better location - a few minutes walk from the train station, and all of the things you will want to see in Ashaffenburg. You litterally walk out of the hotel door, cross the street, and you are on the paths around the Schloss. 3rd - The food. We only ate breakfast here, but it was very good, with a lot of homemade extras. And quite reasonalbly priced as well.

We had intended to overnight in Frankfurt downtown, but the hotel prices were so outrageously high that there must have been an exhibition in town. So we decided to take the local train to Aschaffenburg and catch the Bullet Train the next day to Munich from there. We had made a reservation at the Restaurant for that evening, and we were very surprised to find an excellent Restaurant with exquisite service and food. I started with a beef broth with liver dumplings, followed by a Pork roast cooked in hard cider with bread dumplings. It was cooked to perfection. My wife had a very delicate and delicious cauliflower soup as her first course and a special Salade Nicoise with strips of beef and fish, which was different but excellent. We enjoyed our stay so much, we decided to go back the next time we get to that region. By the way, if you want to travel with a group of people by train within the State of Bavaria, you can get a so called BAVARIA ticket, which covers up to FIVE people on that one ticket within the State of Bavaria. So taking the local train from Frankfurt airport to Aschaffenburg, then purchasing a BAVARIA ticket for your group you can save quite a lot of money on your travel. Just thought that I add this to your options here. Anyway, check out the Restaurant Oechsle in the Hotel zum Goldenen Ochsen. I guarantee, you won't be disappointed. On one more note... the staff in the breakfast room the morning of Sep. 15, 2022 was very polite and very friendly. We felt well taken care of. Thank you. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ

I stayed here with my wife and son for the start of my Europe tour . The rooms were very clean and beds comfortable. It is a minutes walk into the old town, River and other local attractions. The morning breakfast was very comprehensive and everything of high quality and fresh. It's reminded me of how nice it is to be back in Germany. All the staff have been great and service exceptional.
