I like the cashew chocolates that are available here. They are really awesome. So if you are in pondy don't forget to taste it and take it with you while going back to home. Enjoy your visit...

Cottage restaurant is run by the folks of arabindo ashram. The place is very minimalistic in terms of decor but it is very spacious and neatly maintained. This place is very famous for the evening snack that they serve from 4-6, all kinds of sweets, Savory, chaat items are available. This place also has a small bamboo forest like setup as a centrepiece of their decor. Cost is also very cheap compared to other mainstream restaurants, quantity is also very good. Must try place.

Eating is not just about tickling tongue. It is an experience. If you want to experience eating, Cottage Restaurant is the place to go. Architecture, serenity and ambience are part of the experience. I feel in love with this place many years back and I continue to be fascinated. You can expect the best quality in whichever food item you select. They serve South Indian breakfast. They have North Indian snacks and also baked varieties. However, there are timings for eating on the terrace. Restaurant timings: 7.30 am to 1 pm. 4 pm to 6.15 pm. Remains closed on Mondays.

This is very good place. Th food quality is awesom. I had taken food there also and got parcels too. It's good for breakfast and early dinner. Very very good sweets They are open from 7-12 in morning and 4-6 in evening. So it is only good for early dinner or evening snacks along with breakfast. The coffee, Gulab jamun, jalebi, barfi, dosa, uttapam are mind-blowing

Came in for breakfast and had dosa with tea and a sweet treat. Came in at under 150₹. Everything was good. When I asked how to order they explained with a lot of patience and were also very nice. This is important to note because another customer was being very rude, even condescending and they maintained their politeness and niceness throughout the exchange. Service wise I have no complaints, everything came out in due time. I might just add that my water wad taken before I had finished drinking it, but I had no plate anymore so I can see why there was a confusion. The place is very calm and makes it a nice respite from the city noise. It is quite popular though so depending on the time you'll see a lot of customers. I tried returning a few times for breakfast but they only had sweets, I didn't understand why but it might have been because of Diwali.

Came with high expectations. Extremely misleading information provided in overview details. One of the aim Sri Aurobindo's is to serve and provide food, but here the aim seems to be opening and closing on time. These were the following misleading information provided.: 1. The restaurant is in Ambur Salai and not H.M.Kassim Salai. Had difficulty with navigating the route with local auto drivers. 2. In the 'overview' section, it is given that restaurant closes at 1. We reached there by 11:45 - 12'ish, the restaurant is already closed and they are asking people leave and offered to pack their food instead. Wouldn't go here again.

It is my all-time favourite place since I was a kid when my father used to take me there and we would order this cutlet which I would still recommend, God it's so good and the vibe in the restaurant is simply great 🩵....

Good place with a green bamboo view. Food and service is not so good. Very late service. Although masala dosa just met the expectations. But still some one can try. Very affordable price. Dessert options available.

Old people at reception never smiles. Worried about calculation of simple additions. Use calculator. No alternative dishes except their choice. Chutney is very poor taste and far away from quality.

Best one in Pondicherry for authentic Bengali sweets and savouries. They serve tiffin too but very limited menu.

Sweets, no doubt are excellent. Try Rasgadham. Went for breakfast and felt like the food was made two days ago. Better off to fast than have breakfast here.

Cottege restaurant is run by people of Sri Aurobindo ashram. Food quality is good. Variety of sweet options available. Cost is affordable compared to other restaurant in the markets. Famous for evening snacks and morning breakfast. 4.30 pm to 6pm. Ambiance is average, like a bamboo setup. Staffs are calm and friendly. A must visit place for evening munch.

We went for south indian bfast with huge expectations unfortunately bfast closed as early as 9.30am. We got to taste snacks and chat. Thayir vadai was good but pav bhaji was complete disappointment. Bhaji was nowhere close to the authentic in taste/texture/color. Pav was so hard and rough. Coffee was very average. However the ambience, hospitality and cleanliness ✔️

A big fan of their cashew chocolates. Been a customer for a long time. Not to miss visit at pondy. Guess its run by the Ashram. Very well maintained and it's spik n span. They also serve a wide breakfast menu. Highly recommended. A must try.

The ambience is great here with bamboo trees. There's lots of demand for this place, irrespective of the day. The quality of food cannot be questionable ever, that's the trust they have established. There's only one point I thought needed for a person visiting this restaurant is parking for the vehicle. Otherwise all good.

This restaurant run by Ashram is one of the must stop for Bengali Sweet delicacies and various chat items. One can happily sit and enjoy the South Indian tiffins and chat items.

Ambiance is too good and very clean. Bought butter cake and banana cake around 11 AM. It tasted bitter in taste when we had it in night after refrigeration. Sweet was good.

Cute little place managed by the Ashram. Extremely clean, spacious, reasonably priced, non fancy menu. They’ve a wide variety of snacks and sweets + some bakery products (all of them are eggless) Had the banana walnut cake - it was very good.!
