I was expecting a different service quality since this place is so highly rated. I wouldn't know how the food tastes here since it never arrived in the 1 hour I stayed here. I waited for the order for 50 minutes but they didn't manage to bring it. Ordered 3 porridge, 2 were brought but the third for me never arrived even if my wife reminded them that it's missing. They brought orders one at a time at the same table and we had to remind them of what's still missing. They may have been overwhelmed but this is not acceptable.

Whilst on a quick trip to Edinburgh we found this delightful little spot for breakfast within a short walk from where we were staying. Pleasantly affordable. The food, excellent. The owner and staff pleasant and engaging! Highly recommend.

I cannot speak highly enough about this place!!! We all had delicious breakfasts and we kept raving about it for the rest of the day (seriously)! I ordered the waffle with strawberries and chocolate and I couldn’t help myself from taking a bite before I thought to take a photo. It’s a TINY little place about a mile south of Old Town but the menu was diverse and the food was incredible. After we were done, we decided to get some scones to takeaway for the next morning, and the gentleman behind the counter very kindly filled our container up with some extra goodies for us to try on the house! An absolute gem!!!

A very friendly place with food so good you will just inhale it before you know what's happened. Alternative milks? No problem and no extra cost - other cafes take note - why should I pay more for plant-milk!?

My wife and I came for breakfast for our first day visiting Edinburgh. This cafe is excellent. Fair pricing and incredible food. What a way to start off the day! The egg and sausage roll is a excellent breakfast sandwich, the eggs Benedict is perfect. They have excellent coffee, and really good milkshakes too!

You’re treated like a VIP here right from the start. It was my first time and Majid the Owner is so lovely. No dietary requirement issue is a problem. Food was great. We’ll be back!

Amazing breakfast place. Friendly owners. Casual atmosphere a bit similar to an American breakfast diner. I would recommend the all day breakfast, especially after a night out

A great, cosy, old school cafe. I attended for breakfast & arrived a few minutes before opening. At this time there was a family, visitors to Scotland, I think, already waiting. The menu is quite straightforward, and displayed on the walls, which stops any faffing about. I had the full Scottish breakfast which was delicious & very filling. Quality ingredients, served promptly at a decent price. I attended having stayed at The Salisbury Hotel a short distance away after a gig at The Queen's Hall. I suspect this will be my go to venue for breakfast whenever I'm in Edinburgh. I thoroughly recommended this cafe. Please ignore the previous one star review that was a complete mistake, due to a trigger finger !

Very nice little café. Friendly Staff and very tasty food. Instead of toast they serve real bread with a crunchy crust. I had the "All Day Breakfast" and there is absolutely nothing to complain about.

I had a quick eggs Benedict here. It was sufficiently tasty, although I would suggest dressing the dish with herbs or such to deviate from what is a fairly standard eggs Benedict. The general atmosphere was nice. I recommend here if you are looking for a cosy café away from the centre of Edinburgh.

Lovely little place, had festive drinks on offer and really nice cakes. Good selection of food and drinks with good vegetarian options. Not too expensive either.

These guys were so friendly! They made a kid's hot chocolate for my toddler and made sure it wasn't too hot, and then they helped me with the door when we left (I had my daughter's buggy). Just had the drinks and some cake this time but we will definitely be back to try some of the other things as it was very nice
