We arrived here after poor treatment in a different restaurant. The staff were fantastic and very friendly. The food was absolutely amazing and cooked just across from us. Service was quick and very cheerful. Staff were singing along to the back ground music and always smiling, even as the place got busier and busier. The staff turned my ruined birthday surprise into a fantastic evening!!! Thank you so much. Very strongly recommend

Really enjoyable atmosphere and delicious pasta at Gordon's. We ordered the pasta of the day, and it was a good portion and very tasty. Nice vegetarian options available. We'd gladly come back here. Credit cards are accepted.

my friend and I went here for our new year's eve dinner and it did not disappoint. we thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, customer service, and the food! I loved how quaint it was. I believe the owner was working and he paid so much attention to each table! everyone was so nice and my god, the food was amazing! we felt like long time friends of the place. so warm and welcoming. definitely 5/5 stars.

Randomly chose to go here as our first stop on family vacation. Couldn't have picked a better place. The food was incredibly tasty and presented beautifully, staff was friendly and welcoming. It's a family owned business and it shows, making everyone who walks in the door feel like you belong. If you're thinking about going here, please do! You won't regret it.

The food was great but not perfect. To be fair the waiters can be regarded as a bit ‘arrogant’ according to UK standards- where people are usually too kind. Atmosphere was quite stunning with the old town’s view:) Pesto tagliatelle recommended.

Ravioli was wonderful. The cocktail was ok. Although they forgot to bring our drinks until I asked about it. However the waiter was quick to correct the issue and even credited us the drinks. Like most businesses around the world they appear to be struggling to find a full staff. Even with that challenge everyone was very nice and quick resolve any issues. Definitely will them a go again.

I am very particular about the pasta I like and they didn't have exactly what I wanted. But they were happy to customise and make something that wasn't on the menu. Turned out delicious and they even had proper spicy chili which I requested. I was very happy with the meal and their service!

Really pleased with my experience at Gordon’s. The service was very quick and the food was even quicker. Really tasty and good quality food, priced very reasonably I would say as a student lol. The banoffee pie was by far the best dessert I think I’ve ever had! Had a good chat with the staff who were keen to help. Can’t understand the negative reviews at all! Some of the reviews mention sushi and curry which aren’t even served at this Italian! Will definitely be going back 😊

This place was great! Service was awesome at (late) lunch around 3:30 after a tour, and the pizza was pretty great. The Arancini were kinda unflavored and under seasoned, but it’s not like they are high brow grub and the dipping tomato sauce was good. Pizza was also good, pretty large given the price, and overall I would definitely go back here and try their other dishes.

We were here last week and have to say we had a great night! The food was lovely, the staff were great craic and looked after us so well! We laughed all night, such nice atmosphere, staff and food, we ate so well! So tasty!

We loved this place. We have ordered soup of day, olive and bread, and pasta. All yuuuuum. Staff was super friendly and the service was really good. Try this little Italian restaurant if you travel to Edinburgh.

Had high hopes from the reviews, and the prices were not cheap so we expected a lot and were left disappointed. The garlic bread was the pre-sliced stuff from the frozen section in the supermarket (still the nicest bit of the dinner!), the pizza was quite bland and they forgot the jalapeño topping ordered, and the risotto was heavy and stodgy, too creamy to enjoy. The staff/service was good though, and the food came out quickly. Won’t be returning.

One of the best Italian restaurants in Edinburgh. I was last in here over 30 years ago and it's still as good as it was back then. The staff were very courteous and friendly. It gets 10 out of 10 from me.

Visited again this year while in town. And can't praise the place enough. Food was fantastic, drinks great, great price for what you are getting. Staff are as usual brilliant, especially the owner Gordon and Willie, they can't do enough for you. But don't believe the negative views, well worth the visit. Made nan's holiday! Will definitely be back!

Usually we are skeptic with Italians restaurants abroad, but this one definitely worth it. We tried both pizza, pasta and risotto, all were well done, tasty and delicious.

Gordon’s Trattoria is a small Italian restaurant near the end of Royal Mile. The Penne Speciali & Tagliatelle al Pesto were both 5/5. The fresh pasta & sauce made the whole experience better! Portions are large. I didn’t finish my pasta. Their house red was also a solid choice. It’s a small restaurant but ambiance is cute & they keep the place clean. Service was excellent! Would definitely come back to try their pizza & calzones next.

The food was really nice and the place was small and cozy but the staff is really amazing smiling and fun loving the kitchen is so small but it gets dishes out like anything amazing speed and good quality.

Delicious food and very friendly staff. Only downside was they forgot all about our appetisers which they did bring later on while we were having mains so the bruschetta got a bit soggy while waiting to be eaten :/. Regardless, Id definitely come here again!!

Great food and excellent service! We ordered Risotto frutti di mare and Lasagna al forno. Both were served very quickly and turned out delicious.

This place is flipping great and Willy is a legend......friendly, helpful and lots of advice for us tourists. We visited 3 times in our 6 day stay and will definitely be back and highly, highly recommend. Thank you so much for the excellent food and laughs 😃 ❤️

Had dinner there. Limited menu for an Italian restaurant. I liked the pizza dough, fresh and well cooked. The ravioli was average and needs little flavors. Portions are OK but pricey. Just to draw your attention and allow me to say this of what I know about Italian ppl is that they are always smiling and welcoming, so the watiersses should learn this attitude as well. (Smiling for your guest n make him feel comfortable is more important than asking him to close the door!).

Ridiculously overpriced for what you get on the plate, an ordered dish with chicken and chicken was burn, plus if u like peppercorn sauce no liquid you can order. Salmon was good except that u are getting just rockets salad and chips with it, not even a sauce which I asked abt before order and it was promised that's goin with sauce. Service wasn't really good too

We were able to sit outside with our dog! The man who helped us was very friendly and social. The food was sooo good and omg... the Pizza Calzone wad massive! I had the Pasta Bolognese and it was wonderful. Perfect sizes and a good price. I haven't seen it inside, but it was very busy. I will eat here again when I am back in Edinburgh!

The staff was so friendly and thoughtful. The menu has lots of choices. The food portions are on the bigger side but makes it even more of a bargain on the already great prices! 10/10 would return.

Just a great little family owned restaurant!! Pizzas were the best we have had in a very long time. The staff were amazing, especially the Manager Willy, nothing was too much trouble for him and he went out of his way to make us feel welcome. The Xmas tree pizza for our daughter was just perfect!! We will 100% be back next time we are in Edinburgh

We went there for a dessert and cappuccino. It was a very good taste. But, waitress seems to expected more from us. We got bill quickly even without asking for it. The space looks more like fast food with narrow space between tables and open kitchen area across. A smell from kitchen area was a bit unpleasant.
