I would give them 0 starts if it’s possible, I have been waiting for more than 3 hours and nobody comes and checks on my mom, the staff are falling sleep and get annoyed when we ask how much longer the doctor is going t take to see my mom, she’s been having pain all this time and they don’t care, they just throw us in a room and forgotten about us. I don’t know what is happening to this hospital it wasn’t like that before, this is emergency room they need to have more than 1 doctor for the floor .

Go to RWJ instead! If I could I would give them 0 stars! They are horrible both pediatric and adult ER. My son and husband both were so so sick from the same thing and they waited over 5-6 hours. My son in a room no one came to check I had to ask them to check his fever and run tests, I had to beg for them to even take the temperature. And my husband was placed the the hall even though there were rooms available. When asked how long the doctor will be they could not give us an estimated time but told us there are more critical patients that need to be cared for first doesn’t matter who comes in when. Absolutely HORRIBLE!!! We ended up leaving and going to different place.

Dr. Albin Xavier has horrible bed side manner. Let me just say I was left to remove my own IV. Blood squirted all over the room. My arm turned into a bloody fountain. There's more that happened but that sums up my whole experience. Oh and I paid my copay of $100.

Came in (in a wheelchair) with an anterior dislocated hip at 7:30 pm. I had the worst pain of my life. The doctor came by briefly to see me around 11, and he would come every couple of hours. I waited with severe pain until around 12 am. Just to get ibuprofen. I had to wait several more hours to get stronger IV drugs plus an x ray and finally got my hip reduction at around 5 am. I have never waited in a hospital for so long, not even when I went for minor issues. The only good thing about this hospital to me was that the nurses who took care of me were kind.

I would rather DIE than going to this horrible place!! The front desk check in staff is rude and frustrated. They will make you wait in long lines even if you are begging them for pain. This place does not look like an emergency healing destination at all. My personal observation - Americans are preferred and treated first than Asians.

The pediatric Emergency room has to be one of the worse experiences I have ever dealt with. I understand children can be tough and not communicate as well as adults, but the level of treatment my child received has to be mediocre at best. The ER pediatric doctor should take some training on bedside manners. Her style was intrusive and not considerate of the toddlers perception of how frightening an ER experience can be or how much smoother it could have been for both the medical staff and child. The trauma caused by the unnecessary rough experience and service caused by the medical staff is just unacceptable. I hope you guys can turn it around for any future children that show up for your service.

Continuation of my original post. The office that I left a voicemail with, after I was unable to get a simple answer from the ER staff, never contacted me the next day. The Department of Patient Experience failed to respond to my voicemail, so I called them. I was told by the individual who answered the phone that she never received that voicemail and she had listened to, and responded to, all of her voicemails that day. Imagine that! I told her that I was trying to find out if my friend was allowed to have visitors and she decided to check for me. I already knew he could not because I got that information the day before, after several phone calls. She told me he was no longer there, have a nice day.

Awful experience with pediatric ER, if you have the option of going elsewhere I would strongly recommend that you do so. Dr was dismissive. Nurse was beyond unprofessional and screamed at my sick young child in their face. Waits for everything were extremely long because of the lack of organization. Overall terrible experience and I would never bring a family member there again.

I am not from NJ, I came from Massachusetts for Thanksgiving Weekend. I went to the ER experiencing pain and psoriasis like flare ups. Once again, I am not from this area - so when I tried to explain that with my dad the receptionist was very rude to him. All of the nurses were rude- ESPECIALLY Dr. Devli and made me feel bad for not getting treated immediately after experiencing symptoms and practically insulted me. I am a college student - so it’s very difficult for me to just wake up and decide to go see a dermatologist. The only people that were nice to me were the young EMT’s who took my vitals & bloodwork. They could tell I was visibly upset. Very disappointing considering this all took place in the pediatric wing of a hospital. Imagine how they treat even younger patients!

I went in for a head and neck injury, I had to leave. After waiting for 6 hours, I had to rudely ask for an ice pack. Then 2 more hours later after falling asleep several times. A guy who didn't identify himself told me he was going to recommend a CTI scan and not a brain scan because I wasn't in a car accident where my head went through the window. I'm 285lbs and landed so hard on my head it took the hair off my scalp. My spine also feels compressed. My head is lump shaped from the incident. After this random man spoke with me the nurse brought me to the scanning room where she proceeded to tell me that the technician doesn't answer the phone and that she was bringing me back to wait. My head and neck was never observed for swelling nor was I given any type of pending diagnosis. The nurse said she was going to ask if they were ready and 25 minutes later an orderly wheeled me over, I was tod by another tech that I had 5 people infront of Mr and that the surgeon never received a call so, out of desperation I left to head to the closet drug store to get some relief from the swelling. Maybe I'll try another hospital if i don't die.

Update on Unorganized Staff Thank you, JFK, for your assistance in tying to help remedy this situation. My wife has received a different doctor and it seems as though everyone has has to interact with her are more courteous and professional. However, it should not be the result of a complaint about your treatment of sick people, especially elderly patients. I have been moved to docile, at the moment but, I’ve not been moved to status quo because the treatment could resurface.

I was admitted 7/30 and discharged 8/3 everyone was wonderful and compassionate on 7/30 Unfortunately I was rushed back 8/11what a horrible experience. I was ignored 11:30 to about 3:00 no water no food they left me to go to the bathroom on my own with a yellow risk of falling band on my wrist then I was discharged 3:30 and was told a Lyft would be called to take me home. They left me to go out to the entrance on my own no wheelchair like last time no discharged papers was just told I can leave and sat from 4:00 to 5:30 waiting for my ride. When I was picked up by the EMT I was told I didn’t need to bring anything with me. Thank God I had the Uber app and was able to schedule a ride home Otherwise I would still be waiting. When I asked the person at the desk I was told they usually take thier time since they’re free. The security guard on duty I believe her name was Emily ,I apologize if I didn’t get her name right was the only one there that showed care and compassion and helped me make sure I got into my ride before she left as her shift ended. What an ordeal go to another hospital can’t be worse

Went to ER due to a fall. Told them I needed x-ray of upper body. They did all sorts of test and blood work. No x-ray. Now I had to schedule with my Dr. So I can get x-ray. Have to wait 3 weeks and deal with pain. They are incompetent or don't care. Plus while I was there when I rang for nurse they came when they were good and ready.

I came here after I broke my wrist. Everyone from the nurses to the doctors were really kind. The staff is diverse and friendly and accepted my humor and or crying. It was overall a good experience despite the fact my wrist was broken and I was in pain and needed surgery. I think most people think coming to the emergency room think that their issue is the most important and will / should get instant attention. As far as I can tell ERs have one doctor that can see people so be patient - I promise your turn will come.

It’s 4:15am and I just returned from the emergency room with my son. I typically don’t write reviews but I had a terrible experience. I know large hospitals don’t care about reviews because they will make money whether their patients are satisfied or not. The staff was so rude and nasty. No one even cares to greet you. After hours of waiting, the doctor shows up for 2 mins and rushes you out. If you don’t want to do your job or if you absolutely hate helping people go into another field! The medical system is expensive and pathetic. JFK, you need to do better.

Been here in the er since yesterday at 4 pm. They finally put me in an er room at 4 am after laying in the hallway for 12 hours. Now the fun part. Now here for 28 hours and have not been offered a single crumb of food. Once again they are going to see if they can find me a turkey sandwich. Btw my IV has been empty for 6 hours now. What a splendid institution

I just want everyone to know that this location sucks. They have absolutely no conscience on how to run the ER department. Most of the nurses are rude and made the patient suffer. My mom was left without IV for like 2 hours and even with her pain she was left unattended without any pain meds for another hour. You actually have to beg them to come and see the patient. I would definitely suggest to go at some other hospital specifically when it comes to ER. If you’re reading this it’s my humble request please don’t be present at this location!
