Entering this restaurant, the aroma was pungent, more than most other Chinese restaurants. Venturing into the place, it was a musky sauna with a wet atmosphere. Similar to Florida after a downpour and then miraculously sunny. Having to ask the waiter to put the ac on, we received a questioned look, and the smell withered away. The presentation was nice, and the food came out quickly, perhaps too quickly? The food was not impressive nor worth the stay. The pork soup dumplings are below average, lacking flavor, and were full of fatty grease that isn’t found in most soup dumplings - 4/10. The pork chive leek buns are flavorful and fresh with a nice consistency for each one - 7/10. We also ordered beef fried rice, and sadly we were beyond disappointed. There’s no flavor, salt, soy sauce, lacks garlic, but let me tell you, tons of oil, enough grease for John Travolta’s hair in Grease - 4/10. However, after 3 okay dishes, I saved the best for last-shockingly. The beef chow fun was delicious and contained the correct and respectful about of salt, sauce, and oil, honestly overall an 8/10. Side note: the majority of customers seem to do take-out.

everything is fresh and homemade. especially if you get soup noodles, you get a HUGE bowl for less than $10. all their dishes are authentic and very delicious. i highly recommend trying the scallion pancakes, soup noodles, and a vegetable dish. and if you want a really authentic touch, they also have stinky tofu!

Decent service and delicious dishes. Not many employees so if it got a little busy, there was one server trying to help out everyone. But still! Everything got to us in one very yummy piece. The interior is clean but very hot since they didn’t have any air conditioning on. The food was perfect. I mostly recommend the rice boxes because it comes with so much. I tried the Fish filet with bean pepper sauce. It came with the fish, sautéed string beans and cabbage, white rice, and a boiled tea egg. Their soup dumplings look to be freshly made and they’re quite tasty. Their pork and chives buns are also very well made. One hundred percent recommend that you try one or the other. Or both! Last of all, we tried the Shanghai rice cakes. Sautéed with a nice and tame sauce. The rice cakes were nice and bouncy. Now time for my typical COVID comments as of September 2021. Every staff member I saw in there was wearing a mask. They keep the tables evenly distanced and the server is always wearing a mask. Felt like a very safe environment during these times.

It’s been awhile since I’ve dined at this restaurant and the soup dumplings are still solid. The dough looked thick, but is actually the right thickness. There were lots of soup in the soup dumplings and this restaurant served it with vinegar with extra thin sliced ginger, perfect compliment! The fish with pickled vegetable noodle soup was just ok. Menu said cod, but it tasted like tilapia, so it was a bit disappointing. The dining room was also stark and not very inviting, the place can definitely use some warmer lights to liven up the ambiance.

Not sure if they switched ownerships but the quality of this place fell off a cliff. Used to be regulars but now you order a $15 rice box and get frozen mixed veggies and flavorless meat. Will never come back again.

Overall place is good. Some dishes I like more than others. Soup dumplings are always a nice pick. I like their beef and beef tendon noodle soup. Pan fried pork dumplings and House Fried Rice are always tasty here. Price is reasonable and borders on too cheap for some dishes. They have a VIP CARD that free to apply to where some dishes are at a special price (rotating menu). Love this place especially for takeout. Easily feeds 3-4 for $50 or less

New nice and clean environmenty, delicious hand made noodle. The bow is so big (seem to be 10inch)! The price is surprisingly only $11.95 especially considering the inflation now days!!

This joint open @8:30am! Lots of seat to choose that will filled up really quickly. Many, many dishes to choose from. Many delicious dishes @reasonable prices to choose from! Breakfast served from 8:30am, lunch won't be available until 11 or so. I like their casserole of all kinds, you will need at least 2 people to finish it, or take it home with you

This restaurant sucked. I would give it zero, no negative stars. They don't accept card and only cash and venmo not telling you in advance. The soup dumplings weren't good. We had the crab one and it tasted VERY fishy and not fresh. We didn't even need to taste it to know it was fishy. Just by scent. They took our side plates we were going to use for our soup dumplings. I had the beef noodle soup and it lacked a lot of taste and flavor. The same went for the appetizers we had too. Total was $80 for beyond horrible food. Don't waste your time with this restaurant. If only they tasted their own food. Haaaaaaiya!

Ate here for dinner on Monday, November 7, 2022. This place was a phenomenal Chinese restaurant a few years back with extremely tasty food and friendly customer service. However, this place has gone down. As we entered, we noticed only one gal running the front show (cashier and waitress). When we said a "party of three" her reply was "Cash Only". There was no hello or any type of welcome greeting. Very cold. We even had to sit ourselves. It took some time before the waitress came to our table to take our order. There was a bottle of warm water on the table and when I asked for ice, the waitress response was "we do not have ice" in a snotty manner. We ordered the pork buns, won ton soup, beef noodle soup, Peking style pork shops and fried rice. The food was blah and definitely not the same as in the past. Missing flavor. When I asked for a knife to cut the Peking style pork chops, the waitress gave me an extremely dull butter knife. When I asked for a sharper knife, she gave me a plastic one. I have to say that I have never been to a restaurant where they use plastic utensils along with nice plates. A big turn off for a dining experience. Will I be back? Hell no. Let me say that again...HELL NO. Not only will I NOT Return, I will let all my peeps know not to waste their hard earned money at this place. Food is mediocre and service is horrendous. Avoid this place.

The dough was too thick. Gizzard was too hard to chew. Our crab and pork soup buns had no soup because the skin was broken and soup was leaked. We couldn't taste the crab in the buns. Owner insisted there was crab meat in it. This restaurant used to be better.

The rice platters are relatively cheap and have huge portions. The pan fried dumplings are so delicious.

We were excited to visit the area again after living in NJ and frequented Shanghai Noodle often in the past. This visit has left our family extremely disappointed. Their quality has gone way down. We ordered a rice dish which was ok, but was served days old rice that smelled like an old rag. We ordered 2 orders of soup dumplings that took half an hour and then came out raw!! We will not come back again. Extremely sad this business has gone down the gutter!!

Got the pan fried pork & chive dumplings, house special fried rice, soup pork dumplings, sha cha beef noodle, and mango drinks. Every item was so flavorful. We placed the order 10 mins prior to closing, and they kindly accommodated by staying open 15 minutes after closing to complete our order. The gent in the front of the house was warm, and made me feel so welcomed - even offering a drink as I waited. All in all, we’ll definitely make the 30-min trip from home to (re)visit in the next few weeks… what a great authentic taste & top-notch service to match.

noodle soup- noodles did not have the "Q"/ bounciness . Tasted like those in refrigerated packets. The soup tastes like flavoring packets and quite salty, especially with the mustard greens. "Stinky" tofu tasted off and did not have the expected smelly-ness. Only saving grace was the beef ho fun which was decent. (hence 2 stars instead of 1). Waitress did the absolute minimum, and seemed annoyed when asked questions about availability of something off the menu (oyster pancakes). Agreed with the other review that the lighting is very dead/hospital like. Halfway through normal peak dinner around 6-7pm, we were the only table left and was so quiet/cold feeling. Not recommended.

The spicy peanut noodles was fantastic. And the dumplings were so delicious. Cant wait to go back. There is plenty more in their menu that I still want to try. And the service was great. Would recommend to anyone.

I can tell that this is a family-owned business because the atmosphere is cozy and lacks all the expensive decor. And every time my family goes there it is being handled by one lady. This restaurant takes cash only and does not take credit cards - so be aware when you go to this restaurant. However, nothing beats the food. Everything tastes good and nothing is fake. The food is real authentic Taiwanese dish. The dumplings are huge but sometimes the taste is hit or miss. Regardless this is one of my family's favorite restaurant for a quick bite.

The pork soup dumplings were so so compare to other Shanghai restaurants. It seems like there was food coloring added to it, and the dumpling itself is so thick compared to others as well. The salted fish fried rice is excellent just like Penang across the street!
