The atmosphere is cozy. Staff is friendly. The waitress was quick to take my order and bring the food. I liked the chicken cheese kababs. Did not like the lamb chops. They were very dry and overcooked. I'm not sure if this is how they always make it but it gave a bad impression. A big downside is that the utensils were dirty. I had to tell the waiter to change my spoons. Owner has to work on some of the food items and cleanliness. The taste of the food is not always consistent. I will definetly update my review if anything changes.

Just reminded me of my college days when we used to go to Old Delhi to eat chicken. We ordered Chicken Behari Boti, Chicken Achari and Rogni Naan. All of them were amazing. The flavour was excellent and the chicken was tender and cooked well. The service was really good, the restaurant and kitchen were very clean as well. Everyone at the restaurant was extremely courteous. I and my wife really enjoyed the food as well the time spent there. I would definitely recommend this restaurant! You won't regret this one.

The BEST restaurant in the Edison area. We ordered chicken karahi, goat karahi, goat korma, goat biryani, chicken biryani and the lamb chops. Everything was absolutely delicious. The lamb chops were well cooked and moist, the karahi and korma dishes were very flavorful, the paratha was soft and fresh. I wish I had taken more photos but we enjoyed the food so much I almost forgot! I highly recommend this restaurant, when I come back to Edison for shopping needs I will surely be coming back! Update: came again at 9pm on a Monday night, still pretty busy and the food once again is unmatched. Amazing!

Our first food in NJ. Exhausted from traveling… Tabaq offered us Naan, Tadka daal, chicken tikka masala. We loved it and so grateful we grabbed it before they closed. Went back for Sunday breakfast. Halwa puri amazing. Hubby loved the lamb chops and yes Tadka Daal again 😊

I recently dined at Tabaq Pakistani Restaurant, and I must say it was an awesome experience. The highlight of this culinary gem is undoubtedly its consistently amazing, fresh-cooked food. One has to be patient with its service as it takes a while for the food to come. But it's totally worth the wait. Their Butt Karahi is the star of the show but all the dishes are very good. Their hospitality was very good too

It’s a well decorated family style restaurant. We tried out their butt chicken karhai, chicken karhai, goat special karhai, chicken malai kabab & chicken behari boti with poori that they suggested. The amount was so great. A single dish can easily serve 2 persons alone. And taste wise, the food was great, not the best though! For my tastebud, it had less salt in it. The spice range was good for me. The poori had too much oil in it. The mango lassi was average. But the goat karhai was amazing. I can still feel it’s taste. Their service was great, we were loving it! But suddenly at the end the servers kept insisting to put Google reviews for their restaurant! I never faced this kinda behavior from any restaurant & it irritated me!! Cutting one point for this behavior! But for their dishes, it’s definitely 5 ⭐️

Tabaq is a must visit if you want to taste the best kebabs on Oak tree road. They offer many types of kebabs. I have greatly enjoyed the Lamb chops and Chicken behari kebabs. The tandoori rotis are very fresh and crisp. Also they serve various types of curry’s.

So there is a buzz in the town about their "Chicken Cheese Kabab" and "Chicken Makhani/Butter Chicken", But I like Bhia Kabab the most, and found the Butter Chicken slightly on the sweet side. We tried Haleem, Nihari, and Biryani as well and found them very delicious. Space is tight but the staff is accommodating, highly recommended for families if you don't mind a little wait for the table! Dislike: They close around 10:00 PM and start pushing the guests around 9:45 PM. They can easily extend their time to midnight especially on weekends.

Travelers passing by and bumped into this place. Honestly, the best kababs, samosas and chats I have had in a long time. Photos don’t do justice. The ambience and service is good as well. Cutting off 1 star because they do not serve you water since covid so you have to buy water :)

The service was very good, all the servers are so nice and helpful. Family friendly restaurant. The food was pretty good, the karahi was not really spicy (we asked for spicy) but other than, food was flavorful. The mix platter grill is pretty awesome tho, must try.

100% Halal and delicious!! The customer service is amazing, they’re just so sweet! We ordered papri chaat, garlic naan, rohgni naan, goat butt karahi, butter chicken, chicken kebabs, one plain paratha and chai. The food had so much flavor and spiciness. The best items were the chicken kebabs and the rohgni naan. I would def recommend the place if you’re in the area! 10/10!

I had food catered from Tabaq for Eid. It was amazing. Muhammad was extremely responsive and assured me the food would be ready whenever I needed it. They were able to prepare the food with just 24 hours notice. The food tasted incredible and all of guests loved it.

Located in the bustling South Asian suburb of Edison, this place was recommended to me by a friend. The ambience of the restaurant is above average, it just feels as if we are sitting in a forest and having our meal. They should rather improve it by renovating into a traditional Pakistani interior to make the people feel like they are dining in their own country. Service definitely needs to be worked upon. When entering the restaurant, there were two staff members in conversation with each other and none was even caring to ask about the number of people in order to assign the table, which was needed to be asked upon. Also, the restaurant failed to provide drinking water for a long time even after being seated. One elderly customer too complained about the slow service by the staff. The order did arrive after a good 30 mins, which is fine as they needed time to cook the meat to perfection! It was Mr.Ehsaan who did the serving duties of taking and bringing the order and he was courteous enough to let us know about any delays. The food is the best part of their restaurant. Initially we started off ordering Lamb Chops and Butt karahi chicken. It was accompanied by Roghni Naan and Sesame Naan. Lamb Chops: The flavor of lamb was out of this world, the meat cooked to perfection. It easily came off the bone as soon as I had a bite. The charred pieces of lamb too felt tasty enough. Lamb chops with Roghni Naan made it a deadly combination! I wish they had served mint chutney with this.. would have been even better! Butt karahi (Chicken): Honestly, please order this if you are in a group. This dish is definitely one of their signature dishes and it was delicious too. The gravy did feel tangy as I tasted but didn't understand the other spices which were there but anyways.. I enjoyed it. For the first time in my life I enjoyed boned chicken. Must say these people do cook meat to perfection! Roghni Naan: Always seen it in the YouTube food vlogs of Peshawar/Lahore and it fascinated me. The naan was soft to the core and fun to eat . It was so good that one can easily eat it without any accompaniment. Sesame Naan: This dish was also fresh out of tandoor! Soft and crispy enough, it went great with the butt karahi chicken. Chicken Biryani: I was expecting biryani to be great but probably had some really high expectations. They used the broken basmati rice for the biryani whereas the biryani lacked a bit of flavor. The meat pieces were in good quantity but had a lot of bones. Also, they didn't provide the raita. I hope they improve on this though! Special mention to the chaas they had provided, it was delicious! But sadly they only provided one so we had to request them another one! Whereas we also had to ask them for extra onion and lemon for lamb chops. The restaurant should keep an eye on little things as such! Overall a good place to try out the food, but service needs to be improved upon if they are to be competitive enough!

The restaurant was located in a nice place and had a very nice ambiance The food was very good but not Pakistani amazing The service was a little rusty but it is to be noted there was a very ling line of people just waiting for a table It was clean but air conditioning was not good and tables felt sticky Over all it was a good restaurant. Soup was very good 10/10 Chicken karahi special seemed plain but they did ask if we want the butt karahi option that if you are from Lahore Pakistan you know is the ultimate option But it was expensive for just a couple of people. They also have bhaia kabab option (again Lahore referrance)

The restaurant has great food. Really tender kababs as well as chinese items. I wish the music would be lower or not playing. Also the staff were friendly and even replaced a component in my dish which i was not satisfied with. Great place to dine and highly recommend!

This is my family go to spot for Lamb chops, I’ve been ordering from here for the past 5 years. I’ve seen the price increase and quantity decrease with the lamb chops. Ordered the usual lamb chops and i should have gotten 3 chops rather i got 2 and a literal lamb bone with some fat hidden on the bottom. I wouldn’t have written this review if it was a first time incident, but I’ve notice it with the past 3 orders I’ve placed during the summer. I’m paying $20 just for lamb chops, give the customer what they are paying for. This review has nothing to do with the quality of the food, I love it that’s why I want my money worth of it. Just do the right thing and don’t be sneaky GOD is watching, even if it’s just a piece of meat. Your customers keep coming because they expect to get what they pay for don’t fall short on that. Great restaurant other than that.

I went here with a friend today and I love the food. If you are looking for flavorful food, low to mild spice, with nice portions…THIS is the place. We had the lamb, goat korma (literally so amazing and flavorful), plain naan, and the chicken biryani. All the meat was tender and the naan was so soft and fluffy. Best naan I’ve had. Also love the new decor. The only downside is it is a little cold inside. 10/10 guys. We will definitely visit again!

Usually my reviews are rarely this negative for any restaurant but this place is one of those rare occasions where I had to post an honest review. First off the food was super mediocre. We went here cause we actually forgot the name of the restaurant we went to last time which was actually great. This one was a complete disaster. The food was very mediocre. I mean if all restaurants are closed I'd probably go here. The only reason I am giving it 3 stars is cause the naan was good and the chicken tikka was somewhat ok. Now for service. I have rarely seen restaurant wait staff so disinterested in their work. I am not asking for you to be all smiles and friendly but at least pay attention to the customer when they are ordering. The waiter we got was literally acting like we are there to get free food and he's upset as to why you guys are here, now I have to work and get you the food. He literally did not feel interested at even looking at us and paying attention when taking the order. Multiple times we had to request for some items. The only good thing about this restaurant was the environment. It was a nice cozy place to eat. That's where the good part ends. I won't bother to go there again since it's almost a two hour drive for me. Hopefully they'll be able to improve their services and and the food quality eventually.

Their Uber Eats delivery service is very very bad. I ordered four items tonight through Uber Eats, it was two types of biriyani with chicken behari boti and chicken tandoor. To my surprise, I found so many flaws in their service. 1. They should have mentioned about the type of biriyani on the top of the container. 2. There should have been more raitas for each biriyani. 3. The quality of chicken in chicken behari boti is not fresh. It seemed stale food. 4. I ordered also for chicken tandoor, generally it comes with salad by default. But they didn’t add any salads with the tandoor. They only provided one small container of white chutney for behari boti. Their Uber Eats delivery service is really awful.
