He is an excellent Doctor and an excellent Surgeon. Before we met him around July, my mother had lost 30+ pounds of weight approx. in last few months. After we met him, he diagnosed it correctly and narrowed down the cause. He was able to do the correct diagnosis very fast and due to this he has to perform the procedure in a very short duration too, to prevent further loss of health and weight. The surgery was successful. It has helped my mother to start gaining health. In case of emergencies, Doctor Merchant has personally taken time out of his personal hours / off hours and returned our calls. He is awesome and a Nobel person. He and hist staff including nurses, office mgmt, are very professional and extremely courteous. They do not return any stone unturned, for the well being and care of the patient. I salute their sincerity and professionalism.

I chose Dr. Merchant for my surgery because I had read many positive reviews about him online. I needed surgery for two hernias that I had a put off for many years. I neglected to deal with this until the pain became significantly impacting to my daily activities. I saw doctor Merchant at the University Hospital (Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences) located in Newark, New Jersey. My experience with him has been completely positive. In my opinion, he is highly experienced, very personable and shows a genuine concern for the patient. He took the time to explain the procedure to me thoroughly and was very honest about the outcome. My surgery went extremely well. He even went out of his way to make the incision in an area that would leave minimal scarring (unbelievable). Later that day (after the surgery), he made time to meet with me to reassure me and let me know that all had gone well. I was so impressed with his bedside manner, professionalism, and compassionate level of care. it has now been three weeks, and I am healing and feeling great. I would tell anyone out there, "go to Dr. Merchant"! I am thankful and relived that I came across his name, and went with him for this procedure because surgery is not something you should take lightly. ✌️

Dr. Merchant inspires confidence. He answered all my questions about my inguinal hernia procedure. He was straightforward about benefits, risks and possible side effects. The staff was kind, respectful and caring...especially Joan (I think was her name) in the recovery room. Most importantly, the surgery seems to have gone extremely well (I'm three weeks past it as I write this). I had some discomfort the night after the surgery. SInce then, I have had no pain. I was able to walk a mile the day after the surgery, 3 miles the second day, 5 miles the third day and take a vigorous hike the fourth day. No scars from the incisions. I am waiting another week before I try jogging and work into strength exercises. I feel fortunate to have such great care.
