I
was
able
to
sleep
enough
to
safely
continue
my
drive,
but
that's
the
only
positive
I
can
think
of
because...
1a)
I
feel
like
someone
who
is
fluent
in
English
should
be
a
primary
requirement
of
this
role.
The
overnight
clerk
who
checked
me
in
was
not
and
I
still
don't
know
what
time
checkout
was
supposed
to
be.
Turns
out
that
wouldn't
matter
at
all
because
I
wanted
to
get
out
of
there
ASAP.
1b)
I
couldn't
understand
what
he
was
trying
to
tell
me
as
to
why
he
needed
to
hold
onto
my
credit
card
for
10
minutes
while
I
went
to
my
room.
He
said
he'd
bring
my
card
to
my
room,
I
said
I'd
come
to
the
front
desk
to
get
it
(I'm
a
female
who's
obviously
traveling
alone
and
it's
~2am).
I'm
at
my
car
when
I
receive
a
call
from
his
personal
phone
asking
if
he
can
come
to
my
room
now.
Again,
no.
I
get
to
the
lobby
and
he's
quietly
talking
to
someone
else
on
his
cellphone.
I
grabbed
my
card
and
was
terrified
that
someone
would
be
inside
waiting
to
ambush
me
when
I
open
my
room
door.
Everything
about
this
situation
felt
so
wrong
to
me,
but
this
was
the
only
hotel
available
on
Thanksgiving
Eve.
1c)
With
my
credit
card,
address,
phone,
email
and
last
3
digits,
I
could've
easily
sponsored
someone's
well-funded
shopping
spree.
I
had
to
cancel
that
card
because
I
still
have
no
idea
of
the
legitimate
purpose
for
holding
it
after
I
had
paid
online
in
advance
and
offered
another
card
for
incidentals.
2)
The
side
door
that's
just
steps
from
my
room
not
only
didn't
lock,
but
it
didn't
even
close
all
the
way.
Amplified
concern
for
my
personal
safety.
3)
There
was
an
obvious
smear
of
what
looked
like
blood
across
the
top
of
the
bed
cover.
It
wasn't
in
an
easily
overlooked
spot,
it
was
right
in
the
middle
of
the
bed.
I'll
sleep
in
my
car
at
a
truck
stop
before
settling
for
this
place
again.
