I was admitted to the emergency room at the Bogenhausen Clinic on March 17, 2021 with an acute aortic dissection and was then immediately operated on in the Cardiac Surgery Clinic. I also received very good care in the intensive care unit and later in the normal ward. Then the usual examinations were carried out in the emergency room and an access was made into the vein in the arm. I don't even know what other tests were done. Admitted to a ward room late at night and then scheduled for a catheter examination with stent placement later in the morning. Fell asleep very late. The catheter examination began not immediately in the morning, but shortly after midday. You're at a bit of a mercy when you're pushed into the examination room. But the experienced employees always looked after me well. At some point I woke up after a light sedation and was able to look at the screen images. Stents were no longer possible, the coronary arteries were already too closed. I was told all that was left was major thoracic surgery. For me, worst case. At night we went to the large operating area and prepared for the major operation, which was supposed to last 5 hours. Many hours later I woke up in the intensive care unit. Someone always looked after me there. After 3 days of transport to ward 16, where I stayed in the room for another week. After a few days I was allowed to shower again for the first time. A pleasure. The staff in the department looked after me very well. I was fully cared for and was discharged on a Saturday, 12 days after being admitted to the hospital Overall, it's unbelievable what was achieved there for me. Open chest heart surgery is a maximum procedure. Nevertheless, the healing took place very quickly. Many thanks to the whole team.
