Awesome kite spot, friendly helpful staff, storage right on the beach. You will need kevlar shoes or similar as the coral can be quite sharp when walking out. Tobia island is only 8 mins away by kite and is a beautiful spot for kiting. I've been several times, wind is thermal and blows most mornings, sometimes afternoons as well.

-Excellent spot for kitesurfing always windy due to its location. - Amazing team, I got training from 3 different trainers with 3 different kits and boards to give you more experiences out of your comfort zone. - They allowed me to kite from the beach, Island and from the middle of deep water while they are following me by boat for rescue if needed. - Mostafa gave me the riding course and then Abdullah trained me in deep water and finally I got the last session with Ali to sharpening my skills, all of them were a great supporter, honest, perfectly managed my time, you just have to relax and trust them, they are keen to keep you safe and feel relax with this extreme sport.

You’ll find this place away from the buzz of Soma bay and if you are like me you’ll enjoy this family atmosphere. Asab and the staff are very friendly, and can communicate easily in English, German and Polish. The spot has it’s own lockers and all other facilities for storing, cleaning and preparing your kite gear. He can organize transport to get here for a cheap price, and you can pay by card once you leave. The unique feature of this spot is that being next to Utopia island you can kite there in the morning and after the wind is changing direction around midday you can kite back to the beach. You also have 2 lagoons with shallow water, but make sure you are not at the low tide as it is dangerous due to all the stones and corals.

Amazing kitesurfing centre with IKO certification, welcoming staff and very effective instructors - always focusing on safety first. Highly recommend. Located right next to pickalbatros beach club hotel in Abu Soma.

We had an awesome week at Soma Bay with the great crew of Abu Soma Riders Kitesurfing Center. Ali, Azar, Abdallah, Ahmed, Mohamed and the rest of the crew are just wonderful people and very experienced and highly-skilled instructors. Their advice and local know-how was very good and always correct. The spot is simply kitesurfing paradise - with Utopia island the highlight. It’s pretty much their private island paradise in the morning - before it gets busier in the afternoon with tourist boats from the resorts. The water is crystal clear and flat - freestyle and freeride paradise. No wetsuits required - the water is almost too warm with 30 degrees. The crew took great care of us on the island with landing and launching our kites and always keeping an eye on everybody to keep things safe and returning students quickly with the well-mainained zodiacs. As a beginner, my wife felt very comfortable with the crew and progressed fast and after 3 days she was able to ride back to the resort with us. At high tide, you can kite in front of the station, at low tide you need to walk about 50-100 m - but don’t worry, the Abu Soma riders crew will help getting your kite and board safely to the water. Back at the station, our kites where landed, cleaned, dried and packed before we finished showering. Awesome service!! Loved the 3 grass kite launching and landing pads. They use young Duotone and Core kites, all in very good state and plenty of models and sizes to choose from. We had 7 out of 7 days wind. The thermic wind kicks in every morning and lasts at least until 1 pm - sometimes all day. Don’t trust Windfinder, use Windy or the local forecasts of Wjndguru. We were also treated to (free!!) local lunches and simply enjoyed hangjng with the crew and the other guests. It felt quickly like a family. Simply an awesome week and we hope to be back soon!!!

Some times you come across a small jewel, a restaurant or a hotel where everyone feels like family. This is one of those places. From eating lunch together to talking about everyday stuff and getting to know each other. And oh yes, they are really good instructors too and this is a great spot for kite surfing!

Very good place!!! Instructors are great, they really take the time to teach you and to stay in water with you. Once you are certified, you can cross the bay and go to the small island.

This is a great place for rental. The kites (or most importantly the bar and lines) are in the excellent condition, much better than elsewhere in the area. The spot is less crowded than others. This place also offers better prices and by far the best service - you will be really well looked after! The reef does bottom out at low tide, so there is a walk across the reef (about 50-100 yards/ meters) to get deep enough to kite but this is not an issue at high tide.

I've spent amazing 10days in that spot in June. All staff is very friendly and helpful. I didn't even once had to pump the kite or set up equipment! All was done and ready for me before I managed to put wet suit on and apply sun cream on my face! 😃 I felt like VIP guest all the time! The biggest advantage of that spot for me is that is quieter that other spots in Soma Bay. Because is quiter is less busy on the water which made me way more relaxed on the water and that give me opportunity to integrate with other kitersurfers in free time on the beach. Comparing to other spots in Soma Bay I never had to wait in the line for compressor or for staff to help me land the kite. Azab who is managing that place is very nice man who I had a real plesure to talk to. I highly recommend that place.
