Kana Kato Restaurant & cafe

Buffet restaurant

👍 Good food. The owner or manager was a nice guy. The view over the nile and the boats all inside of it as well as the main land is great. It was a bit hot cause the roof was lined wood but they have a fan so it kinda compensated.

The hotel is clean and okay to stay. However, i recommend not to book the tour with them, it’s the worst experience during the whole Egypt trip, the tour guide at Abu Simbel only explained for 3 minutes and went on to another group. Can you imagine Abu simbel temple and all these old carving explained in 3 minutes? Moreover the Nubian village guide was not professional, on the Nile river we ran into another boat which was very dangerous and he insisted to bring us to a shop even though we told him that we need to get back to the hotel for our next Felluca trip. In the end, we missed our Felluca trip and were not able to see the sunset. They did compensate for the Felluca trip. Overall the location is convenient and the rooms are clean but humid.

The hospitality at the rooms and restaurant at Kana Kato is outstanding. The rooms have the best view to the Nile, they're sunny, clean and spacious, with comfortable beds and a proper functioning AC. The restaurant has amazing local, fresh, delicious food. Ahmed's hospitality is just the best. This is a great place to stay and while in Aswan and the Elephantine Island.

Great stay! Everything quite perfect. Ahmed speaks very good English and we had a nice conversation 😊 The hotel is easy to find. The restaurant serves local cuisine(better than in Aswan center). We especially liked the seasonal juices. We were offered free ride to cross the Nile. There’s public ferry nearby and for 5LE pp it’s easy to reach Aswan. The view of Nile on the balcony is great. Pack mosquito spray for elephantine island in general.

It is the best option in Aswan and one of our best stays in Egypt. The place is super clean, beds are comfortable, it has AC and a good breakfast. But the best part is how the Kana Kato family takes care of their guests. From the free transport to and from the island to Aswan, helping you arrange all the visits you want to do at a fair price without any pressure to sell you something. It was really a fantastic stay!

A chilling oasis in the middle of the Nile river. From the moment we stepped in we felt serenity. People are so kind, food is delicious and affordable. I definitely recommend Kana Kato to everyone.

We went for the restaurant and cafe they have outdoors. Amazing place, lovely unique food and atmosphere. If you go there, try the camel meat tajin. Their bechamel was very good also.... Make room on your table for a shisha or two. The guy is super friendly as well, we had a long chat after dinner.... Highly recommend it.

Personally Kana Kato was our best hotel in Egypt (Yes better than the 5 stars in Cairo). The rooms were great - extra sofa bed, quiet (relatively speaking) and comfortable; there was working AC. The owner was fluent in English and was extremely friendly and jolly. There is an exclusive private speedboat service from Kana Kato to the East bank! Wide selection of delicious and fresh food, hookah also on the menu! The Om Ali is to die for. There are many juices or smoothies to choose from. I recognize not everyone might be into this, but it was connected to a charming maze of rural dirt pedestrian roads.
