First of all, this is not a restaurant, it is someone's very welcoming house, you will not get to order from a menu, but call the owner an hour prior to showing up and she will prepare a very very generous and absolutely delicious meal for you, including a welcome drink and Nubian tea. Everything was perfect, but the food is only half of it, while I was sitting there, I felt as if I was sitting in my grandmother's house, I felt very welcome and the vibes were amazing, it was great to sit in a local house, and have a wonderful conversation with the hostess who was a very kind lady and fully engaged in conversation. If you're the shy type, don't worry, she asked if we were comfortable with her joining us in the room. Wonderful experience, definitely went above and beyond my expectations, worth every penny and more, priceless honestly.

We just came back from diner at this wonderfull "home cooking" restaurant. Two days ago we met a boy at a boat trip along the Nile. He told us about this mother and her cooking skills and invited us for diner. The boy didn't lie: the food was absolute delicious! After diner we had a chat with is his mother and brother; both beautiful people! Very recommended place!

We spent a fantastic afternoon at Sabaha Kato while we were staying at Elephantine Island. The home cooked lunch was absolutely delicious (we particularly enjoyed the lentil soup and moussaka) but what made the experience so special was the opportunity to spend a couple of hours with the owner and learn more about Nubian life. We'd highly recommend spending some time here if you're visiting Aswan.

If you are ever in Egypt, Aswan. This is the place to stay. The breakfast, food, family, and vibe are so amazing. You will get the best experience staying here at Sabaha Kato. This family will treat you nicely and you will not want to leave this family. The view is amazing. When you wake up in the morning, this family brings so much peace. If you're looking for an organic/authentic experience with the Nubian people and Egyptian culture, this is the place to stay and the family will guide you with so many things. Don't hesitate to book with Sabaha Kato , this is the place to stay if you want to experience real Egypt /Nubian culture. Blessing for this family, I was taken care of with so much love. The hospitality is 5 starts.

This is a great opportunity to meet a local family and have amazing food. I called and asked if they could do dinner for two vegans and it was the best food I had during five weeks in Egypt! It was a bit difficult to find in the dark, as google maps isn't very accurate, but walking through the narrow alleys was part of this very unforgettable experience!

I went here for late lunch and was delighted by the experience. If felt like I'd met my long lost aunties. I was not only fed but welcomed into the family to sit and share stories of culture.

I just had the most enjoyable meal and conversations at Sabaha kato tonight. I showed un late evening and the owner & cook opened the place for me. I had some delicious fried chicken with salad, Rice, zuchini, bread, etc ( more food than you can possibly eat). It was lovely to meet the neighbours and learn about nubian language. Thank you!!
