I am surprised that this place had less guests than other restaurants. The food is amazing. The ribs with honey melts in your mouth. The service was very good. It's a hidden gem it hotel. Highly recommended.

Roy’s Smokehouse is an absolute must if staying at Cairo Marriott Hotel & Omar Khayyam Casino! The customer service is friendly, passionate and easily some of the best service we had while in Cairo. I personally loved their Ribs I ordered on my second visit in 3 days. We’re talking melt off the bone goodness! Also the best part was their reaction to me ordering the ribs after their recommendation a couple days before. It was honestly just incredible joy that I would come back and trust their recommendation. Anyway, do yourself a favor and visit Roy’s as soon as possible!

2nd to last day in Cairo, staying at the Marriott, and heard Roy's was good and reasonable so we (me and my dad) decided to check it out since we don't speak Arabic and weren't to comfortable on our own away from the tour. And I gotta tell ya, both me and my dad thought it was some of, if not THE, best brisket we've ever had, and Dad lived in Texas for over 10 years. Good portion size and so tender you could cut it with a fork. Good flavor with a good smoke ring, all the hallmarks of quality BBQ. I got the nacho appetizer as well, with the brisket, and it was equally good. They claimed to smoke the brisket for 13 hrs and I believe them! And the staff was nice and attentive, place wasn't packed, and our two meals, with Miester Max beers (local Egyptian 8% beer!!), and a dessert Pepsi I'd been craving was right at $50 US. Really an enjoyable dining experience abroad after some earlier unrelated frustrations. May go back again tonight, although we have to leave for the airport at 0145 (yes, AM, which is a whole OTHER story) and may just try and sleep after we finish visiting the pyramids in the afternoon. Felt kinda weird eating "American" while in Egypt, but, damn! it was good and I definitely recommend and would eat there again in a heartbeat.

This place is located in the heart of Marriott hotel, which is a super iconic place to visit, not only to dine but also to see the amazing interior and the marble statuses 🏰 One of the best places to have a brisket with a heartwarming welcome from the employees! We got welcomed by warm buns and special made butter with meat that was fresh and delicious. 🍞🧈 We had first, the amazing nachos as an appetizer, don't eat too much or else you'll get full so fast because the potion is huge! Recommended wine would be shahrazad if rosé and Omar khayyam if red. 🍷 Then as a main course we had the waiter's recommendation Ibrahim, the "beef short rib" and Texas brisket 🍖🥩 which were both yummmm.. As sides we had mashed potato and coleslaw, and to be fair the coleslaw had a lot of mastered and we aren't a fan.. But thats just us🤷🏻‍♀️ The staff are super friendly, talks and acts in a very kind way and the meal was one of the best since a while.. 👦🏻 Def visiting back to try some of the other menu components

We actually chose the Marriott because Roy’s was here. This place is a legit Texas Barbecue restaurant, complete with a real pit, slow smoked meats over real wood smoke (no pellets). We ordered the Roy’s special which included a massive beef rib, brisket, pastrami and 2 kinds of sausage. The brisket was perfect, from the bark to the smoke ring to the tenderness. It was well rendered and moist. The beef rib was equally good. It was fall off the bone tender with great flavor. The sausage had a great bite on the casing and very well seasoned. The sauces were good if your a sauce person. Even in Texas I would recommend this place. The staff were attentive and very helpful throughout our meal. Beer was cold, it was like a taste of Fort Worth here in Cairo. Truly a must try if you want authentic BBQ!

Roy’s Smokehouse is the untapped food opportunity at the Gezira Palace. The food is extremely good and service is excellent. Placement of the restaurant at the base of the Zamalek Tower means it’s not as well known at the hotel, but don’t let that stop you from enjoying the delicious food. They smoke the brisket and other meats daily, and the quality is right up there with any Southwest Barbecue restaurant. Service is excellent as well. Yara and Mina provided the kind of quality attention that makes you feel right at home. Some highlights: Slow smoked brisket Hash rice Brisket nachos

When I decide to. Write a review, this means the place being reviewed did something extra ordinary amazing or they did something bad! Well in this case, I visited the newly reopened Roy’s smokehouse during my short business trip to Cairo, and that first visit made me come back 3 times.. Staying with the friendly professional staff, ending with a journey of flavors.. if you wanna enjoy a mix of upgrades flavors, Roy’s is a place to visit.. tried several dishes and the chef did not fail to surprise me, leaving me with a great satisfaction. Surprisingly, the prices are nonsense, you can have a big fulfilling meal for a price of a double espresso. Roy’s offer a good range of plates, a nice atmosphere and a very good price.. top this with the most warm welcoming smile of the team.. highly recommended. Separate smoking area. Note: you can see the meat smoker through the glass display.. that’s a wonderful thing when operated, with a beautiful wood smell that adds to you experience.

Today is my last day in Egypt 🇪🇬 and finally I got best restaurants. Great food, great service. It had kind of an Applebee's feel to it. The prices were very reasonable. Didn’t expect to find this kind of food at this level of quality in Cairo. We’re not staying here but it was well worth visiting.

The food is very good here. After being on vacation for 2 weeks we were looking for a taste of home and Roy's did not disappoint. The rib burger was delicious and their homemade chips are perfect. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for American BBQ.

We only used our knives for the butter. The meat was done to perfection; both the lamb chops and the beef short ribs were amazing. The fries were good quality, and the mac and cheese was very nice as well. Aside from the cigarette smoke, this was a perfect meal if you want to have a safe American food experience in the middle of Cairo.

The Short Ribs! Wow. Honestly the most tender delicious meat. It falls off the bone. So so soft and full of flavour. I’m usually a fussy eater and these were a standout. All side condiments are fresh and delicious. My only regret is discovering this place on the last day of my vacation. Would highly recommend!

Good food

Roy’s Smokehouse in the Marriott, was a great interpretation of an American bbq joint with better service and great staff. Ibrahim took care of us he was very kind and friendly. Definitely recommend to drop in for a good meal and great experience if you need a quick break from the local cuisine.

This is the BEST soups in town. BOTH GAsser and Ayman and very friendly and are ready to listen to special needs and dietary request. The salads are also very healthy and creative. The atmosphere is light and happy !

On the ground floor of the Zamalek Towers, this is a great casual Mexican with Exellent food. As its out the way of the main restaurants it's also quieter, which was important for me. Not a huge menu but sufficient, poor selection for vegetarians if that's what you are looking for.

The service is good; the old style sea food soup is excelent. Just spicy as it should be (I am not a great fan of hot spices though). I ordered the Marriott Burger; where I can only give 2 stars for that; the meat had no sold, or lacking any kind of spice. Minced thick, not easy to eat. The melted chese on the top look good, but not tastes good. However, I will come again to have some american food fajitas and 🍺

This is a fabulous smokehouse! I don’t normally like hotel restaurants because their food is usually bland and generic. However, heard great things about Roy’s so made an exception, and am excited we did. Everything was delicious and the smoked beef brisket fell off the bone. No knife needed! The mixed veggies were lightly cooked with a satisfying crunch and our waiter, Hegazy, served us like we were royalty. He greeted us with a warm smile, introduced himself and proceeded to deliver impeccable service despite Roy’s casual vibe. If I could , would knock off half a star because there’s not much of a view, but you’ll be busy devouring what’s on your plate and won’t notice.
