DO NOT come here with a guide, carriage or local taxi (unless careem). Come back alone or send the taxi away. They charge him very unreasonable commission, and in the end the artist Mohsen makes no money at all for himself! This is the real Lotus Papyrus. Artist of 50 years, kindest man you will ever meet. All authentic papyrus art, hand painted. Extremely reasonable price!

Visited the store for the second time on March 10, 2024. A store with excellent prices, artistry and quality. You can accept Egyptian pounds, US dollars, or credit cards, but some handling fees may be added. It is recommended to pay in cash (change will be given, so you don’t have to worry about other stores asking you to buy more) You can ask your grandpa to write his name (English letters) on a papyrus bookmark for $3. I personally think it is a very suitable gift for close friends and family. If it's just a gift for an ordinary friend, if you want a cheaper price, you can go to other stores. We don't accept bargaining here. Of course, Grandpa's quality is definitely worthy of the price he charges, otherwise why would there be an endless stream of customers while living in a back alley? On the first day, I wandered around the street and went to the store to pick out two pictures and make two bookmarks. When I returned to the hotel in the evening, I placed them with other trophies and found that they were not of the same level. The next day I went to the store and bought two more for my family. Silver and gold jewelry may be high-end gift options, but I think the papyrus bookmark here is by no means inferior, and even more expressive. *Grandpa likes to use the Japanese brand pen (uni-ball) in Figure 1 as a trace after coloring, but the pen is hard to find. If you have any enthusiastic friends who happen to come to Egypt and visit Luxor, you can bring a few for grandpa. I believe grandpa will be very happy😃

recommend! The boss is very kind and lovely Affordable The boss said that the paintings are all hand-painted Available in various colors, sizes, patterns There is also a luminous version In addition, it is recommended to buy bookmarks and write the specified text. The boss will draw hieroglyphics

We visited this shop on June 2023 during our overnight stop in Luxor on a cruise. I was looking for a handmade souvenir that I could bring back home and found this shop near Luxor temple. The artist/ owner is very kind and talented. Just check out the quality of his paintings. He is not pushy and the prices are very reasonable. My daughter was very delighted and got very inspired with his work.

I don’t write many reviews but I had to for this shop. The shopkeeper’s family and himself are the artist for this shop. He takes time to speak to you about his papyrus, not pushy with price and he gives you fair one. You come out feeling good about supporting local artist rather than buying from souk. Shopkeeper spoke to us for over 30mins, telling stories and you can feel his passion and him just being genuine, not too often you find this in Egypt. You must come here for your papyrus needs.

Highly recommended. Honest and nice artist giving the authentic papyrus art, unlike those cheesy and factory-made. Just buy souvenir at here. The price is good. You don’t need to waste your life on bargaining. He can customize for you.

If you are looking to buy papyrus, then you come to this place. Mohsen is the warmest, most genuine person I have met in Egypt and his love for art is clear. I overpaid at another shop in Luxor, returned it and bought as much as I could from Lotus. Last night I spent 1-2 hours sitting down in the workshop and talking to Mohsen about family, art and Egypt. He explained to me all his pieces, showed me the techniques and colours he uses and answered all the questions I had without hesitation. When it came to the final price I did not try to haggle, he already saved me so much money (by telling me I overpaid for the previous one I bought), he gives fair and honest prices. Even if you are unsure about buying Papyrus, just go and visit Lotus Papyrus and meet this wonderful man. Thanks for everything Mohsen.

You have to stop here when in Luxor. An amazing shop and the kindest artist. He explained his work for us and his prices are reasonable. I also realised that other shops actually charge 8 times the price and the discount ends up being 4 times the price which they share with the tour guides who take their clients there. In this shop, there is only kindness. Thank you, sir.

This is where I made the best memories during my trip to Egypt. I was able to custom-make a handmade book flower with my name written in hieroglyphs, and at the same time, I was able to have a pleasant conversation with the owner and look around the store. You are a really nice person. I highly recommend stopping by!
