Camel market

Market

😐 A bit hectic, if you look un-Egyptian you will definitely stand out. We were looking to wander the market but were stopped with a 50 pound per person entrance fee, extra 30 for pictures. This may be spottily applied, so take your chances. The herds of camels were impressive People often mention market,

Camel market is interesting. Lots of camels and auction style. The sellers hirer agents to sell they chose which agency at the market to sell from. Lots of time sellers dance and sing to draw attention to their camels being sold.

I went there in a rental car around 7am on Friday morning. Pay the ticket fee at the entrance and enter. The camera was free. Camels move in unpredictable ways, so you need to be extremely careful. The camel merchant was also run over and looked in pain. Since this is a men's workplace, women are encouraged to wear long sleeves, long pants, and a scarf.

Very traditional. Definitely worth it, but it's not for sensitive souls. Don't rely on Google Maps, my Uber driver wanted to throw me out in the desert on the way. Don't take the route from the west, but east through the delta.

The Birqash Camel Market is truly an amazing experience and a must see for anyone who likes to do things off the beaten path. You can experience local than the tourist only. It also one of the biggest camel market. And If you are interested photography the camel market is a wonderful place to visit. My personal recommend with local guide as the place is out from Cairo about 30km away and they don’t know English.
