I will be honest, The host is super nice, very nice, friendly talkative etc… However for 300 Egyptian pounds you get 3 vegetarian dishes and a small portion of meat alongside a loaf of bread. Is it worth it ? No, it’s super expensive for what it is. Is the food amazing? No it’s average 🤷🏼🤷🏼 Is the experience amazing? Depends on you and the families mood that day.

The words 'authentic' and 'family style' are over used and rare. This is true to the word as they invite you into their home with the famous Egyptian warmth and hospitality. The food is literally from their garden and so fresh and very good. It's an experience you will never forget as they welcome you into their family. I have eaten all over the world but few if any have be as memorable as this experience! Thank you!

Only four items on the menu, but all of them well done. We ordered fish and vegetarian and both of those dishes were incredible. It was almost like eating comfort food for me. I think the place is home which they serve for from. Would definitely visit again. We forgot our phone and they tracked us down on motorcycle and returned the phone. Love them for it.

If you are looking for a local mothers cooking, this is a place. We were staying at the Sonesta St. George, we took a boat across the Nile river for 70 Egyptian pounds to get to the restaurant. We were given a very warm welcome. The entire area is very local and you feel right at home. They don’t have a physical menu to look at but they charge 175 Egyptian pounds per dish. The portion sizes are very big and the food was absolutely delicious. We got the chicken and beef and there was so much flavor in both. The side dishes it comes with includes rice, a mushroom tahini, potatoes in a gravy sauce and a vegetable stew. The restaurant is run by a local family, the mother and sister cook in their kitchen right when you order. They were very kind, honest and trustworthy. We loved everything about this experience, we met the owners 10 month old son who was adorable and they really make you feel like you’re home. I will come back here multiple times the next time I’m in Egypt, now this is an amazing local family we should be supporting.

We had an absolutely amazing time at Nubia House. The host was friendly and paid great attention to detail. We ordered fish for 2 and paid 300EGP, this included bread, plates of vegetable and spreads. I highly recommend this place! There is only outdoor seating so be sure to bring a jersey if it’s cold.

Very quaint backyard restaurant in West Luxor. We had an amazing time there. Their food was super tasty - the breads, gravies, chicken and fish were all on point. We demolished the food before we remembered to take any photos! The owner was very sweet and we spent time discussing his day to day, playing with his grandson and him demonstrating how his fishing nets work.

This was a one of the recommendations for my luxor trip. Indeed it was an awesome experience, lovely family with loads of warmth and care. My family loved the food and just a chat with the owners. Awesome place to visit and have a sit down with scrumptious meal.

The best food I had in the whole Egypt. Everything is organic and home made. People are kind, genuine and welcoming. No touristic stuff here, everything is local. I highly recommend it

This family managed restaurant is strongly recommended. I ate here with my family after a long day of tours in the west bank of the Nile. We enjoyed very much the relaxing atmosphere, tasty and healthy food, and low prices. After, we simply took a boat to our hotel on the other side of the river. Loved it!

Coming to the Nubian House was such a good chance to meet a local family and eat very authentic Egyptian food! The owners were so hospitable and treated us just like family. The breakfast was delicious and they took a chance to sit with us and explain everything on their farm and around the area. I highly recommend this spot for anyone wanting to see and feel the authenticity of Egyptian cuisine.

We’d read high praise for this restaurant and it wasn’t wrong. One of our best meals in Egypt so far. Relaxed, outdoor seating and a delicious comfort meal that will make you feel at home in the country. Kind and welcoming staff.

One of the best places to eat in Luxor. Amazing food and meat is packed with flavor and spices. Surrounded by garden it brings a calm atmosphere. Big plates full of delicious food with homemade bread.

The food is amazing and the hospitality matches. While in Egypt the Nubian food, culture, and people were my favorite. While in Luxor take a quick boat across the Nile for great meal and quaint atmosphere.

Great hosts with excellent home cooked food. Don't expect a menu, because everything is made fresh - but it's all part of the charm! Everything home grown and home made by a beautiful family, who were happy to show us their home and small farm behind the restaurant. Thank you!!

My boyfriend and I ate here during our first day in Luxor. The food was delicious and the portions were huge. The wonderful family who runs the restaurant were very kind and friendly. It was hot outside, but there were fans to help keep it cool and keep away flies. We had a wonderful time and would recommend this place to anyone looking to try authentic Egyptian food made by a local Egyptian mother and her family.

My experience at Nubian House was outsanding. Not only was the service amazing, the owner gave us a tour of his property and took time to explain to us his mantra behind opening up his restaurant. This family owned business in Luxor is a diamond in the rough and having lived in Egypt for the last few months, it was nice to get an authentic dining experience unlike the usual. Amazing authentic Egyptian food for a great price. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and would love to eventually be back.

This small restaurant is more of an invitation to come to eat with some locals in their courtyard. This place is exceptional. The people here treat you like their family and they take the time to tell you about their lives and the farm. They grow everything locally and they prepare their food according to what you like. What you'll eat will be a surprise, but a great one. You will not regret it. Thank you for your hospitality. Next time I'm in Luxor, I'll make sure to come and visit!

Not only the food is absolutely amazing, but the people here makes you feel like they are your family. We had dinner and breakfast several times, it was super cheap with very high quality (fresh food) and big portions. They are really nice people, we enjoyed nice conversations and a warm welcoming. Hope to see you soon again 🥰🥰 love from Spain!

Went there for a dinner encouraged by high reviews. The place looked very nice, the service was good and friendly, portions were big. Everything was good, but I simply didn't like the food. Everything was bland for me. I wouldn't come back there. Maybe I just had high expectations after having amazing lunch in a different place on the same street, earlier on that day.

We went to Nubian House on our last night at Luxar. It definitely was the highlight of our trip. It was a true Farm to Table experience. We even got a tour of the animals and the fruits and vegetable garden. The food was freshly cooked and delicious. Needless to say we devoured every bit of our food and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique experience!!!!

Amazing family owned spot with great fresh food and a laid back atmosphere. We even got some homegrown dried hibiscus to take home for tea. The vegetable dish and chicken dish were both very good.

The delicious dishes kept coming and coming, sizzling hot! Everything was prepared with so much love and care. Nubian food is a wonderful cuisine that you need to try before you leave Egypt! The outdoor dining area is very comfortable, and if you speak with any of the family members running the place, they’ll show you the chickens they raise in the back! You won’t believe the amount of food you get for such a low price.

Good cooking with only biological ingredients and most of them from the own farm in the backyard. Relaxed atmosphere, no one bothering. Price around 150 Egyptian pound is also cheap and fair. You should try it some day.

5 stars does not do Nubian House justice. My visit to Egypt was made infinitely better after deciding to sit down for dinner one evening there. Not only is the food phenomenal, fresh, and filling but it is run by the most incredible family who over the course of a few visits became the people I will remember best from my 10 days in the crazy country that is Egypt. I will return to Egypt simply to spend more time with the Nubia family. They are special people who own an incredible home restaurant. I am lucky to have come across them during my time in Luxor.

I went because of the high reviews... To be honest the place and the hospitality is AMAZING!!! the food is average. No menu and for 2 persons we pay 250 Egyptian pounds. One small portion of beef(5 small pieces) but very tasty and one vegetarian order. You will be full but i think that the food can improve

Stopped by this delightful authentic restaurant for breakfast on our final day In Luxor. Lovely courtyard with seating and a wonderful tasty Egyptian breakfast. Husband and wife owners are friendly and welcoming and the meal was one of the best I've had in Egypt. If you're around the West Bank and feeling hungry for some delicious traditional food at a reasonable price, then stop by. You'll not be disappointed!

When I say this might be the best chicken I've ever tasted, I do not mean it as an understatement. The owner is super nice and his wife might be the best chef I've seen. The hospitality from the whole family is unbelievable and the food, even more so. The meal left me speechless and wanting to come back again for more, which I definitely will! I'd rate higher than 5 stars if I could. Absolutely amazing

We had an awesome breakfast here at Nubian house. Everything was so fresh and the falafels were some of the best we’ve had. The owner even took us around his farm out the back to show where he grows all the ingredients which made it extra special. Highly recommend!

A very welcoming family serving delicious food that they produce in their garden. We had a very relaxing lunch and enjoyed all of the amazing dishes they served us. Thank you for your kindness and for such a pleasant experience.

A rustic restaurant by the Nile, run by a humble family. The food was freshly made. It was a home cooked meal. We got vegetarian and non vegetarian food. The spinach soup was amazing. There is no set menu, yet one just enjoys the chef’s creations. You just tell them if you want vegetarian or otherwise. Tasty, simple yet scrumptious meal. I would highly recommend for those who like to sample traditional food ( farm to table) and are willing to experiment.

Opened by a very lovely local Nubian family. Meat, fish, and vegetables are freshly prepared before the meal. We were shown amazing hospitality. The price isn’t too expensive — 300 LE for two main dishes, two plates of vegetables, sides and drinks. Would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Probably the best meal I had in Egypt. The meat falls apart and the sauce and flavors are delicious. Very nice experience to feel the love of the family operated farm to table establishment.

Local family run restaurant that usestheir own fresh produce. I got here a little late, 8.20pm, the kitchen closes at 9pm, i was going to grab a takeaway, staff very very friendly told me to stay and eat no problems. The food was bloody delicious, you can taste the fact they use fresh ingredients, it was an absolute feast for one, I didn't realise it was 2 fish 😊🤔 rice, okra, vegetable with sauce, salad and fresh bread all for 200egp. I will definitely return to try the chicken or meat option. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone & everyone. 😎❤️🤤🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🤙

The food is excellent. Everything is home-grown and freshly prepared. We also catch the fish ourselves. The portions are very large. Egyptian cuisine. A short walk behind most of the bars, therefore quieter.
