The tunnels are quite small so try this only if you have strong legs and can commando crawl. I stopped right at the last photo; this portion was only about 3ft tall! I had to turn back because some French guy in front of me decided to bail out and this is definitely not a two-way tunnel.

Personally, I don't think there was any mistake in planning or construction of this beautiful and majestic building, we just don't understand yet the purpose it was built that way. The inside is a true adventure with lots of crawling and climbing, it's physically very challenging but totally worth it.
