The food was amazing and the service was great and the view is to die for! The young gentleman with curly hair speaks English fluently and the other gentleman who can't speak unfortunately, is the sweetest host we've ever had. The food is fairly priced and quality wise was the best we had in Aswan. They have their own boat Service so, you don't need to pay for crossing the river. I definitely recommend this restaurant. I wish we had more time to go back and try other items on the menu.

This restaurant deserves a 5 Michelin Star! Aside from it is located in the Nubian Village and is an overlooking of the River Nile, The food is great! The taste lingers in your mouth and the staff is amazingly accommodating! The ambiance is lovely and the owner named Jamaica is absolutely friendly and he ensures his restaurant gives the best service! We would definitely recommend his restaurant to all the visitors here at the Nubian Village!

Location is amazing. Their fluka “boat” takes you and brings you back to the eastern bank of the Nile for free. Food is delicious but portions are a bit less for price.

We had an amazing dinner with the family of Abdul ! An extremely nice family that is very kind and makes incredible typical meals ! We also went the day after the dinner to have the Nubian breakfast that was awesome and very generous ! Also the prices are very cheap ! Thank you for everything and thanks again Abdullah Junior for the trip on the boat 😍 it was our best memory during our trip 😍😍

Good vegetarian dishes, with zucchini, with onion. Friendly people, they always have a smile in their face. They speak good English and even french. Tasty drinks for decent prices. Nice place to have lunch, dinner or to relax in the evening with view on the Nile

One of those hidden gems for travellers that you tell your family about back home. Food is absolutely fantastic, big portions and reasonably priced. They even gave us a free soup with the meal. Owner (King Jamaica himself), his son (Jamaica) & staff have Nubian roots but lived in different places in the world among which Australia so they speak perfect English. View is amazing, right on the Nile river. We were welcomed as guests and left as friends. Welcome break from the classic Arabic approach regarding women also. There are women working here whom seem equal to the men. Girls sitting on the terrace making their English homework. My wife appreciated seeing this.

Can’t miss this place if in Aswan! Family owned restaurant with beautiful Nile view. It’s especially nice to sit there in the sunset time. Food was incredibly tasty: ordered beef and camel tajine. Beef was very tender and dissolving in your mouth, camel meat didn’t seem as tender and it had more texture to it, but maybe it’s its specialty (that was my first time trying). Lentil soup with vermicelli was also nice. You can order hibiscus and they also served us nubian coffee while we were waiting (food takes circa 20 mins to be prepared. The only downside was the music for me. Expected Reggie place to have Reggie music but not pop covers. It spoils a bit the scenery imho. Wish this place all the luck and success in the future💕

It’s difficult to describe our experience at the King Jamaica restaurant in Aswan but I will try. My friend and I were staying at the Mövenpick hotel and were desperate for food with flavour, spice, made with love so I googled restaurants close by. The hotel helped me get in touch with the King Jamaica restaurant to my surprise, I ended up speaking with Ayman, the owner and visionary of the restaurant, who graciously offered to pick us up in his boat. Let the adventure begin! He pulled up and took us to his restaurant while sharing bits of information about his upbringing, culture, and love for food. Once we got to King Jamaica, he indulged us in frozen watermelon juice, which was exactly what I didn’t know I needed. Then came the food! Every dish was seasoned perfectly, incredibly fresh, and paired with perfect company. The rest of the day was just magic as we ended up spending it with Ayman and his friend - indulging in the magic that is Aswan. To say I cannot wait to return would do an injustice to the pull that place and people have had on my experience. I will most certainly be back :)

The best food we had in Egypt so far! Better than the Old Cataract hotel restaurant 100%. Worth a short boat trip. Delicious local cuisine, camel and fish tagines are top! The guys working here are very friendly and welcoming. So happy to discover this place before leaving

Got beef tajine and it was super tasty and very large portion. Main dish meat served with amazing vegetable stew, rice, lentil soup, tahini, pitas and salad. Owner is a very positive and interesting person. Can take here special Nubian coffee made by amazing girl who can also teach you some magic🧚🏻‍♀️✨

What a lovely way to wrap up our visit to Aswan than with a quick boat ride across the river to the charming King Jamaica restaurant. Offering a great selection of Nubian cuisine (at reasonable prices) with a gorgeous view of the river Nile, this is one of the best spots to enjoy a sunset meal. Best dishes have got to go to the camel curry tagine and the stuffed pigeon, and they can whip up a decent vegan option upon request too. Especially fun was the low cushioned balcony seating upstairs, would recommend in case it's a bit windy, and finishing your meal with a spiced Nubian coffee. Overall a great meal with great service from this family run restaurant, that also really makes you feel part of the family. Can recommend!

We had many amazing meals at King Jamaica during our time on Elephantine Island. The view and service is amazing and the food and drinks are delicious for good prices. King Jamaica himself is very kind and gave us much good advice for our travels. You must visit here if you are in Aswan! It is also very easy to reach since it is right next to the public ferry

My spouse and I had an exquisite experience at King Jamaica. The tagine was delectable, and the lemon mint drink was refreshing. The staff were welcoming, and the owner, King Jamaica, added a personal touch by sharing captivating stories about his journey from Australia and his deep-rooted family history on Elephantine Island. His anecdotes added a layer of richness to the already vibrant ambiance. This restaurant is not just a culinary delight but a narrative that intertwines with the legacy of the island. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a meal with a side of history and cultural enlightenment.

One of our favourite meals in Egypt! We were slightly worried it would be too touristy but were proven very wrong. Honest Egyptian food, from very kind staff. The bechemal tangines were delicious and came with so many other side dishes. Great for vegetarians.

This incredible experience at this place made us come back every single day sometimes twice while staying on the Elephante. It is already an experience by itself just to sit down and have a chat with locals but food, drinks (coffee, tea) are another level! Is a must visit place while visiting the island! Beautiful view and once you're here it is really difficult to leave! ❤️

Outstanding experience in every way. Food was excellent, especially the house made tajine. Service was excellent as well, the view over the Nile was amazing as it is located on the Elephantine Island on of the major attraction sites of Aswan.

Delicious food, huge portions, and amazing owner! We went there both nights while staying on Elephantine (we usually don’t visit the same place twice, but our impression was so good that we wanted to come back), and both nights we were so stuffed that we barely could stand afterwards. The restaurant is also very pretty (very Nubian and colourful), and has a pleasant breeze and view of the Nile. The first night the owner took us on a boat trip with his son after we ate, where he showed us around the island and the beach on the west bank. Lots of Nubian and Egyptian history! Didn’t even ask for anything in return. Overall we would highly recommend this place!

King Jamaica's food was our first heartiest dinner of the trip. It was amazing to say the least and the view is to die for. The owner of the restaurant is a fun person to talk to. He was warm and very hospitable. I highly recommend this place if you are in Aswan.

I came with a few of my friends traveling from the US. Everything was absolutely amazing from start to finish. Ayman arranged for a boat to pick us up from our hotel and drop us back. Everyone at the restaurant was so hospitable and kind. The evening started with some Nubian entertainment and some dancing which everyone loved and then we got our food and let me tell you, it was off the charts!! If you’re looking for some authentic and delicious food, this is it. Every single dish was cooked and seasoned to perfection including the rice which was the cherry on top. Highly recommend King Jamaica and cannot wait to go back on my next visit. Thank you so much Ayman for such a memorable experience!!!
