We spent one week in Rafiki in private rooms and everything was amazing!!!!! (17-24 November. 2023) The accommodation was much better, than we expected and the rooms were clean and taken care of. People are amazing at this place and they made us feel home. Very friendly people from everywhere of the world. We participated on like 4 -5 organised program and everything went well, we visited beautiful places and the guys were always helpful. I even got some ear drops from the reception when I had ear problems from diving. I must tell the people (workers and volunteers)made our stay more memorable. Thank you everybody 💗💗

This place was by far the best hostel I’ve stayed. The amazing staff are super helpful with anything you need at the hostel or the diverse range of Rafiki events on the daily. I extended my stay here because it was such a great base to enjoy all that Dahab has to offer. You won’t regret your stay here.

One of the best hostels I've stayed at, from the moment you arrive you'll understand what I mean. The rooms are amazing and you're surrounded by comfort and good company. The hostel organises amazing activities at fair prices, if not free. The team is incredible and makes everyone feel at home and connected. Shoutout to Karim for all the amazing memories. I highly recommend experiencing Dahab with Rafiki!

Honoured to have been one of the first to have visited what no doubt is going to become a fantastic franchise model for hostels worldwide - made in Dahab! Clean, functional, modern, yet warm and inviting. Getting this balance right - European professionalism infused with an authentically Egyptian charm - is by no means an easy feat. Cozy chill-out corners, a fabulous swimming pool (I hear a jacuzzi is soon around the corner?!), a phenomenal co-working rooftop, comfortable mattresses (with curtains!), individual lights and plugs - I'm in backpacker heaven! Rafiki Hostels pulled all this off so effortlessly, you can't help but leave this place feeling impressed. Looking forward to continuing to follow your journey!

I spend 7 nights in total in Rafiki hostel and I recommand it 100%. I've travelled a lot and I can honestly say this is one of the BEST I've been to. The bed, maitress, pillows are high quality so you'll sleep like a baby for sure. The hostel itself is really well located. There is an AMAZING rooftop with wall plugs, comfortable couches and tables so you can definitely work there while admiring the mountains and the sea. But most importantly : the people! Everyone has been so welcoming since day 1, being so kind and caring. They are super available to organize fun and nice activities, to give you tips and advices and even to show you around 🥰 Warning : leaving that hostel will be extremely difficult. You might actually want to stay forever 🤷🏻‍♀️❤️

It seems impossible to make Dahab better than it already is, but Rafiki has done just that. Truly a home away from home, with the staff and guests becoming family instantly. Quality dorms/private rooms, amazing breakfast included, daily activities to get you involved, a pool on the back patio… the list goes on — a social atmosphere full of cultural exchange. My four day stay in Dahab quickly turned into three weeks, and Rafiki is to thank for that. It really is hard to articulate the magic of this place, you’ll just have to experience it for yourself.

Laid back, helpful, and incredibly welcoming hostel! We stayed at Rafiki for 4 nights while discovering Dahab and its surroundings, and our trip was made so much better thanks to the relentless efforts of Rafiki‘s team to provide big Egyptian breakfasts, organise trips like a beduin dinner, and get us discounts eg for dive centres. We stayed in the private room, which is a quick 2min walk from the main building — the best of both worlds for us as we could join all the fun activities, like jam sessions, karaoke and board game nights, but retreat to our room to get a good nights sleep. What made our stay so special was how warm and welcoming everyone was, and we immediately felt like we were part of a family rather than merely staying at a hostel. They also kept asking for our feedback and immediately fixed anything we reported, like the bathroom door lock in the private apartment. Huge shout out also to the owner Hashisha who used his contacts to help organise the next leg of our journey in Luxor ❤️ We can’t wait to come back to Dahab, and can wholeheartedly recommend a stay at Rafiki.

I really enjoyed my time there! 1st of all I liked the pool, it’s rare in Dahab to have even small pool in the hostel. And the place itself is colorful and matching, also the rooms is comfy, very cozy. And the bathrooms so clean and looks fancy!

The worst accommodation I have ever stayed in. There were cockroaches in the kitchen and bathroom. Huge ones. I have booked a single Deluxe room with a private balcony and air con. The room had no balcony and only a broken ventilator. It was in the apartment on the ground floor. There was no view and it was very hard to breathe in the common room as it was very humid. The hygiene in general was extremely bad. There was no hot water in the bathroom for all 4 nights of my stay. The management fixed it as they wrote to me when I left. But imagine having to shower with cold water in December. They knew that this unit had water problems but they still sell it on Booking. The window mechanism in my room was broken and at night it was quite cold. They give one used blanket in the rooms. I got the second one for the other nights and an additional bed sheet. But I got a skin rush after my stay. Probably because of the dirty blanket. The hostel is made of 3 separate houses. The 3rd one with private rooms is quite away from the common area and it does not have a hostel vibe at all. It is a very improvised unit. And so is the management behavior. It is all huge improvisation and so far it has been working for them. It is all about the profit. There are volunteers who are working there and no one was at the reception during the night. The breakfast was starting around 8:30 and not 8 as written. A good example of their bad practices is that they offer transfers for $38 when you can find these for $13. They became all about commission and adding more capacity while losing quality and good communication and a nice guest approach. I would give them rating minus 5 if I could.

Very low hygiene standards. The private rooms smelled funky: mold and dirt. Towels were dirty. There was so much dust everywhere. Couch was horror par excellece. Breakfast was not got at all. Stuff were volonteers who were not interested into building good energy. This accommodation provider is a factory of fake reviews. If you look carefully you will see that massive amount of reviews is from local mails from their friends etc. Not recommended. Spend couple of bucks more and get some proper hotel and clean accommodation. In person you can get much better rates. Never take their non refundable offer. They will not refund you eventhough they will sell you wrong room and get other rooms overbooked.

Very nice hostel. Bright, clean, cozy. Special love to the back yard and the lounge❤️❤️❤️ Everything is clean and neat, functional and simple. Well lit and fully equipped kitchen area, located in the lounge, makes the space feel homey. Loved the bathrooms. To me bathrooms are super important. Not too spacious, but very well arranged. Big mirrors, clean toilets, big sinks, showers. The back yard! It's a special love. Bean bags and wooden pallets stile sitting area, just love beyond explanation 🙂 and the pool. Not a spacious swimming pool, but tather a dipping pool. It's a very lovely back yard! Also, would like to mention the location, very convenient, not right on the main road, so it's not super noisy, but very close to - easy to catch a taxi. Close to the beach, I'd say 7 min walking😜 around 7, maybe 5, maybe 10, haha. Close to the market, also somewhat 7 min walking🙂 super cool. Had a great time there and would highly recommend visiting.

The most amazing hostel i have ever stayed in. I have travelled a lot and stayed in many hostels, but Rafiki is the best I’ve been too. Everyone made me feel so welcome from staff and colleagues. They do daily activities which makes everyone come together from all 4 corners of the globe. Will visit again!

Rafiki’s team is one of the friendliest I’ve ever met. I have yet to come across an issue they couldn’t help me with during my stay. The room’s design is perfect for both people who want their privacy and those who want more social interactions since the beds had curtains in all sides. Every place in the hostel was always clean and resources almost never ran out. Their trips are entertaining and a good place to both have fun and meet new people. The hostel doggos outside are just the cutest!

it's my first time being a solo traveller in Dahab, so finding a female dorm room was awesome 👌🏼 The people are great! everyone is friendly ❤️ they respond fast through WhatsApp (which is a plus). During my stay, I got sick (motion sickness and cold in my stomach), and the staff & people around me helped me so much until I got better! Can't thank those people enough! 🙏🏻 Truly, they're like a family ❤️❤️

Awesome place! I've been to Dahab many times and this is the the best Dahab experience I have ever had by far. The staff is awesome and they somehow attract awesome guests as well. We all became best friends instantly! Comfy, clean rooms, constantly bombarded with activities day and night and the best recommendations on how to enjoy Dahab or how to find any little thing you are looking for.

In general, the stay has been fantastic. I can only comment on the private rooms as I've not stayed in the dorms. Having clothes washers is very uncommon and appreciated. Having a full kitchen to use is also amazing. The guide put out is very helpful for guests. Whatsapp group as well is excellent for building a community amongst the guests. Daily tours/activities are amazing. Helps to build a great sense of community. I extended my stay because my satisfaction has been high and I've met some amazing friends. So overall the positives far outweigh any negatives during my stay. My 2 rooms have been clean and comfortable. The volunteers and workers I've net have all been wonderful. The tours and activities I've participated in have been excellent experiences I will take with me for the rest of my life. Rafiki is quite new and busy with so many guests coming and going now. Definitely the best place to stay in dahab if you want to have a strong fellowship of other travelers. I'm probably 10 years older than everyone here and am solo traveling have felt comfortable and embraced by the whole community. Do t hesitate to book at Rafiki.

Some hostels are pleasant, functional and nice enough. Then there are those with genuine soul, who describe themselves as a family and genuinely act like one. This is Rafiki. From the abandoned kitten they've taken in who gets so much care and attention, to how ready the staff and volunteers are to help you - this isn't the kind of vibe you can manufacture. I assume it flows from the management team. I was unwell for my entire stay in Dahab and on this occasion, travelling solo. The staff were really helpful with recommending medicines and a pharmacist. Unfortunately I couldn't take part in any activities but there are tons! So the hostel would be ideal for first time solo travellers. The upstairs private room was larger and brighter than the room downstairs. Enjoy your stay!

Hey guys, just wanted to share my experience staying at rafiki hostel for the second time and it was unreal. The vibe was chill, the staff were super friendly and helpful, and the facilities were top notch. The dorm room was clean and comfortable with plenty of space to store my things. The bathrooms were always clean and had hot showers. And don't even get me started on the breakfast spread - it was delicious. Overall, I couldn't recommend this place enough. Whether you're a solo traveler or with friends, you'll have a great time here. Can't wait to come back again one day!

Staff is available all the time to respond to any messages, calls, or queries I was lucky enough to arrive there when Tina was still working there, she's such an addition to the team ❤️ The whole staff is extremely helpful Mostafa will help you with any place you wanna visit, morad is the best to show you around, take you on a hike 🧗 and the best tech 😉 Amir would go above and beyond to make you feel at home and welcome! The rooms are extremely cozy, the privacy curtains, the bed organizer, and the reading light are details I never imagined seeing in a hostel Lastly, the whole facilities are just top-notch! keep it up, guys!!!

I came to the hostel 9 days after it opened and I came back a second time 3 months later. This place is incredible and the people managing the place are more than welcoming. Here, you will feel at home and you will be part of a whole family: Rafiki's. There are activities organized everyday to let you enjoy and share with other solo travellers your experience in Dahab (karaoke night, movie night, cooking...). The rooms, bathroom and common space are very clean and there is a whole team to make sure that you will feel very comfortable staying there. I recommand this place, for sure you will never regret comming here. Be ready to extend your booking to more than what you expected because it is very hard to leave.

Rafiki hostel just feels like home as you pass the door. There’s everything you need to have a proper rest and meet the best souls out there. Though it has just opened, there are only two little things I would reccomend: having like little shelves next to the beds to put some stuff during the night (especially the ones on top), and maybe a guitar in the living room to have some really nice shared moments (but I’m sure it’ll come soon ! 🤗). Oh, and I forgot mentionning it’s a 5 minutes walk to the beach and all the people we met are just shining and so nice. What more do we actually need ?

First things first: 100% the best accommodation in Dahab! The hostel is completely new and modern and extremely clean. You immediately feel very comfortable and safe here. There is a very good breakfast (for free!) and the washing machine is also free. The kitchen offers everything you need. You can store all your things extremely practically under the bed and also lock them, which is actually unnecessary, as you will quickly notice. Every day there are events like karaoke, dinner or movie nights in the hostel, but the house is so well insulated that it is extremely quiet in the rooms and great care is taken to ensure that everyone can sleep, if necessary a snorer is also insulated. I've never slept so well in an 8-bed room, to be honest. The loudest thing is still the fragrance dispenser ;) Now the best: The team really tries to make your holiday in Dahab special and you can tell that they put their heart and soul into their job. Through Hashisha, Morad, Tina and Amir I have seen wonderful places and events that I would have 100% missed otherwise. In addition to the classic excursions, which you can of course book on your own, you will also be invited to parties and events hosted by the locals, to which you would never have access without the Rafiki Hostel. The Rafiki team is friends with almost every musician, artist or bartender in Dahab and if you go along for a few evenings you'll soon know half the city. And you meet wonderful people and will never be introduced as only a guest but as a person. I have never felt at home anywhere so quickly and i dont know how to thank for that. I came as a guest but I'm leaving as a friend. Morad, Amir, Tina and Hashisha thank you for hosting me. I will give 10.000 stars :)

Rafiki - is such a great plug-in spot. Here you have a comfortable stay, very helpful and smiley team, warm welcome from a local community and shortcuts to the best experiences in Dahab. I’ve been travelling all around Egypt and it’s usually hard to get a full information about the place, the prices and best restaurants. In Rafiki they not only recommend the best diving centre and snorkelling spots but tell where you can play volleyball and eat the best falafel. The rooftop and a pool area - my personal top though. 👌 Thanks

Mixed feeling about this hostel I have heard so much good about. The buildings are really nice and well maintained but the hostel is divided into three buildings distributed along one street between other private houses. So not convenient at all when you need to move from one house to the other one and run down and up the street. In my dorm the top bed was too close to the ceiling to be able to seat in it, very uncomfortable. Also, there was a giant and very loud fridge in the dorm which I believe would be more useful outside in the terrasse area. The staff is very nice but not very helpful. For example, they did not know how to send letters with already stamps on it “I don’t know how the Egypt post works” told me the girl from reception. They checked out by mistake my bed and took all my belongings to reception. Thanks to that I had a clean bed every night. They agreed to give a second pair of linen for free as they only give naked blankets otherwise. Towel is available with a fee and deposit. The breakfast is not bad but served only starting 8:00AM officially, it is more 8:30AM in reality. The huge and only plus of this hostel is the undeniable effort put into creating a good atmosphere by teaming up everyone, having a full schedule of activities all day and week long for an affordable price with an enthusiastic staff always available to chat with you. And of course the good price of the dorms.

Rafiki is family♥️ This hostel is everything you've been searching for. It has a cosy social atmosphere but also offers a workspace for all the remote workers, students and everybody really, who needs to get work done. There is daily events and activities happening, like trivia night, family dinner and volleyball. Rafiki has free breakfast, a kitchen where you can cook for yourself, a pool in the backyard, a rooftop with an incredible view and some great recommendations. Thank you for this incredible experience, I enjoy every day of my stay♥️

I had an exceptional time in Rafiki hostel! The staff is very welcoming and friendly, everyday there is some kind of activity to get to know other travelers. The staff provides tips what to do and to visit in the city, which really helps exploring. The kitchen has everything that you need. The outside terrace is a very good place to meet other people or just relax. Overall i think this was one of the best hostels I've ever been to and I would definitely come back in the future.❤️❤️❤️
