We had our lunch here at the roof terrace. Also came back for dinner and more lunch. The food was fresh and so tasty! And plenty...we could not finish all. We enjoyed it a a lot. The people are kind an chef Hassan explains a lot of his secrets when you ask for it. The chef cooks with passion and hart. He makes you feel welcome and at home.

We came here for lunch as part of an AirBNB experience we took with Mohamed, the owner. It was AMAZING and you will not leave hungry! Everything is absolutely delicious and made with care and love by Hassan. We felt really taken care of and loved it so much that we came back the next night for another meal. The environment is beautiful and special, with coned ceilings that create interesting acoustics. During our evening meal we sat on the rooftop deck where you have an incredible view of the lite up mountain, and could hear the wild dogs howling in the background. It was gorgeous (sorry for the quality of the photo, but you get the idea.). If we come again we'll come back. We feel like we made a friend in Mohamed and the entire team (and especially Saber, our tour guide).

They catered to my vegan/plant based dietary requirements which was much appreciated. We sat on the rooftop so we were able to admire the beautiful view - seeing the valley of the queens in the distance. We loved all the meals so much we wish we could have it all again. Could not recommend more!

A bit expensive but meals are delicious and staff friendly. Chief Hassan is a beast 👌 The house is about 15/20min by taxi from Nil wesbank embankment. Area is quiet. Impressive view of Queens valley from the rooftop and wonderful sunset. 15/20min by taxi to queens/kings valley and hatshepsut funerarium. Clean apartment ( 2 bedrooms flat ) with air conditioning in both rooms. Pillows are quite strange..not my stuff. AC not working very well but still it's acceptable. Close to copt district, Habu temple, Memnom colosseus and Ramesseum. You won't see the Nile but you will be in the valley. Totally different from city center. A good retreat ! Up to you ! Flo

Malkata house staff are very friendly they welcome us like a family, rooms are clean and comfy and have all appliances needed. Food is great, Gourmet oriental food is what they serve, with talented waiters and the exceptional chef Hassan who kept cooking for 8 hours long to serve us the best meals we will have in life. I'm more than happy with the experience and will sure come again

Our stay at the Malkata house was a superb experience. The host Mohammad was very professional, welcoming and accommodating. When we wanted to do something, such as go on a camel ride, go shopping in town or anything else he would make sure it would get done. Sometimes driving us himself if he had too. The service here is more than anyone can ask for. The house mate and chef are very charming and always making sure to help you out should you need anything. Hasan the Chef was such a nice man and is a great chef. Each dish certainly is made with love. The accommodations themselves were impressive. Each room had such interesting acoustics because all the ceilings were made of brick and cone shaped. It was unique and beautiful. The exterior was also so lovely to behold. The views of the mountains all lit up at night from the rooftop were breathtaking. This house and its people were the jewel of the Nile. I would certainly come back because I know how nice of a ship they run.

I had a great experience here. The staff is amazing; Hassan cooks wonderfully, his Baba ganoush is full of oriental flavors. Ahmed is always here to help with anything. He really makes you feel at home. The rooms (the upstairs ones) were clean and really confortable. And the view from the terrasse unbelievable. It was my second time in Luxor and I was looking for something peaceful and quiet away from the hassle of the town. And this accommodation was ideal. The location is perfect for visiting the Valley of the Kings and Queens, Deir el Medina or for doing a hot air balloon ride. Going into Luxor isn’t too hard, it’s just a ferry away. I will come back to Malkata House !

The kind of restaurant that sets the bar so high that others pale in comparison. Some people are good chefs and others have got that gift to get all dishes they make perfectly balanced, tasty, interesting, etc. Chef Hassan has world class talent and his food would be a success in any major city. We tried a wide variety of vegetarian and meaty dishes and they were all unforgettably good. Even the dips and soup were to die for. Hassan's tag line after they bring out the food (a sort of parade of amazing dishes coming to you) is: "Don't talk, just eat" and that's all you'll want to do. Even though the restaurant is atop a hotel a bit off the beaten path, we ended up going twice (and wish we had more time to keep coming!) One of the highlights of our trip. Can't recommend enough!

This was (hands down) THE best food we had in Egypt! This is probably the best food in North Africa, I think. We loved it so much we came back the next day. The view is lovely, the quality of the ingredients is top notch, and the service was great. We had vegetarian and regular food, all received rave reviews. Perfect lunch stop while you're touring the west bank - be sure to make a reservation.

This place is incredibly beautiful and the people who work there are so kind. I had a lovely time staying here and getting to know them. Hassan and Ahmed are like family now. The food is so delicious! You won't go hungry with all the amazing things Hassan cooks.

Rooms were clean and food was good. Rooftop has a good sunset view. However, dinner was very pricey at USD15/person. Furthermore, apartment/restaurant crew tried to charge an exorbitant price for taxi transfers and mineral water. Please deal with extra caution.

Stay away. After seeing my doc, it turned out that the insect bites were from bed bugs. The location is overpriced, it's very remote and drivers often don't find it. The food is good, but 3 times as expensive as comparable food in the center of the city. Book your trips online to safe money. And please 🙏 don't go out after dark (5pm), take a driver.

Malkata House is one of the best places I have stayed in in my life, it's not just the amazing place itself, the wonderful décor, the beautiful rooftop overseeing the vally of queens. It's also the great hospitable and professional -yet very humble- staff, who made sure that we have the best experience in Luxor. Not to forget the most amazing thing in Malkata House which is the Very delicious food Chief Hassan made for us. He spent many hours preparing it for us so that it's ready for us in time, and he still kept his beautiful smile all the way till we were finished with our meal. Would definitely come again and recommend it strongly

I stayed in Malkata House with a group of my friends for one day, and we wish we could have stayed for much longer! The place is clean, cozy and very practical. The special dome design makes it even more soothing and with very amusing acoustics. The shared spaces are very nice for group gatherings and the roof was absolutely breathtaking! The views from the house are gorgeous and nature is very peacful! And the food was absolutely delicious!!! Special thanks to chef Hassan and his assisstant for such lovely dinner and breakfast and for their amazing hosting skills. They were both very sweet and welcoming and they always made sure we have everything we need. This place was the highlight of our trip! And we are certainly coming back!
