We were recommend here by our driver and very much enjoyed our experience. We decided to do a 2hr full body massage, plus reflexology and steam room. The facility doesn’t look very luxurious from the outside but don’t be put off as it was a much more authentic Ayurvedic treatment than we found at hotels. The quality of the treatment was very good and small touches like herbal tea served the end made the whole thing very enjoyable and relaxing. I would definitely recommend visiting if you are staying in the area.

We have enjoyed the spa, which has been a memorable experience in a special place, based on a different idea of luxury based on true and simple things. The treatment is all about pure relaxation with full body massage, steam bath, and a good shower. All staff is super professional and carying, without any rush.

One of the most beautiful spa experiences, had a wonderful couples experience with a massage and sauna followed by herbal tea, all set in a tranquil environment! Would reccomend!

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised to be given a couples room for our spa which was great. The massages were excellent and the steam treatment was great too. They offered us tea afterwards and I would definitely recommend a visit to the spa. Also they do accept card making payment easy.

It was amazing to experience authentic Ayurveda treatment in this beautiful setting. There are lockers to secure your belongings. Most massages on offer are a package. I enjoyed a 2hour package, including full body massage and reflexology. The reflexology was amaxing and literally put me to sleep!!! Which is testament to how fantastic the therapist was. The massge was followed by a traditional steam to aid the oil absorption. This was followed by a herbal tea and relax in the sitting area. I was given a complimentary bar of soap. The experience was well worth the extra you pay as it is a unique way to experience authentic Ayurveda therapy.

This place is a tourist trap. Driver takes you without telling the prices and even the name of the place just to get their share. One would expect exceptional service and massage for 40-60€, but what you get instead is a poor hygiene level and a massage that is performed by a random person who is probably not a masseur scooping heaps of ayurvedic herbal oil on your hair :) It was a bad experience and a waste of time. At least we had some good laughter with my couple in a stinky steam bath after the massage trying to clean the excess oil as there were no showers :)

A huge disappointment. I wouldn’t recommend this centre, despite the fact that it comes recommended. We were quoted $75 per person for a 2 hour package and was only provided 1.25 minutes, because we were the last appointment of the day. And the massage was below par and very substandard. This place is a ripoff. The so called doctor is all about the money and didn’t offer any consultative advice.

Tourist trap. Our driver recommended the place but we quickly realised he was more into his profit rather than true experience of ours. The only it has to do with Ayurveda was the lady at the front desk explained the meaning. Than a Very regulární massage followed. You can take a final shower in a building Very simimar to an old barn with cheap cosmetics from a supermarket. The pricea are presented in USD and Very far from local prices. Avoid this place and find Something local. The experience would be double for half price.

Unfortunately, we didn’t read the reviews before our guide brought us here. As many already mentioned - extremely overpriced for a very basic experience. The “doctor” is just a lady that explains you prices. No shower after the procedure, you will just be offered a cold towel (small one), so be ready to throw away your clothes after this “authentic” experience. We had a 80 mins procedure: 60 min massage + 20 min steam bath for 75€ for two persons. Nothing exclusive for this pricing.

Unfortunately I have to agree with the other bad reviews left here. Prices are waaay too high (40 euros per person for 40 min full body massage + 20min steam room) and there is no shower afterwards…Which will lead to the massage oil ruining your clothes.. I also agree it is a tourist trap and should be avoided!

You start off this spa experience by meeting the “doctor” but really it’s just the sales woman who deals with package and payment. Kinda bummed there that this would be more of an experience. We did the 40 min scrub & Ayurveda massage Honestly, the staff were pleasant & the ladies were really sweet. But the “40 min scrub” is really like a 15 minute scrub, the rest of the time they just leave you on the table with the scrub on your body. The massage on the head was a bit aggressive & my hair turned into a giant knot so I had to ask her to stop with that, but the body massage was nice $ super mellow. This facility should warm their oils & scrubs in the future. I was cold the entire experience & needing to swat away at the mosquitoes. So maybe screens & better door patrol too.

I discovered this place thanks to my driver and I can confess this is the best massage experience I ever had in my life (and I did a lot, trust me!!) I selected a 3h package that I could customize. I have severe bottom back pain amd the masseuse took it very seriously, I can say that after this session, I feel much more relax and painless even if the pain.does not disappear. The head oil experience is very interesting, steam room full of herbs gives you the sensation you are part of the forest. Finally, the very quiet atmosphere (if other customers respect silence) is part of.the experience. It worths the price and the time!!!!

Three of us had a 2 hours massage & foot reflexology. The place is in a good location & consist of several small houses. The layout is cute, creative & good quality. One of us was satisfied with the massage, whereas two of us were very disappointed & felt it wasn't much of a massage & that the massage ladies lacked the necessary skills. It's usually too late when the massage has started, but we feel more should be done to train & assure the necessary skills. Initially they insisted that I (man) would have a male masseuse, but we agreed quickly & nicely that if I would have massage in the same room as my wife it would be OK with a female masseuse..👍

We didn’t see the hotel and were taken by our driver for a massage as it was ‘authentic and cheaper than our hotel’. The massage was very average and the price was more than double the price of our 5 star hotel, we tried the hotel massage the next day and it was superb. There was nowhere to shower after the massage so we left very oily and my partners dress was ruined. Disappointed.

My partner and I came here for a 2.5 hour Ayurvedic treatment, including a massage, foot reflexology, shirodhara and herbal steam room. The price for this was reasonably high - about the same I would expect to pay at a high end spa in Australia - but it was the best massage I have ever had. The guys who did the massages were very friendly, professional and clearly very skilled. The facilities were clean and the towels and showers seemed clean and well-maintained. We came early in the day (at 10am) which had pros and cons - it was quiet in the spa and not too many people were there at the same time as us, but obviously it may be better to schedule your massage after hiking in the heat 😅

The therapies of the center weren’t something special for its price and we where waiting for an amazing experience, even if the therapist was kind and they did their best. After the therapies we went to the steam room and the paint of the bench stayed all over my body. Never cleaned before. When i complaint they just said to me that the paint is ecological. WHAT? Because is ecological you stop cleaning before people getting inside? So no hope . Sorry that you use Ayurveda for just high profit.

BEWARE OF THE TOURIST TRAP! The prices are far too expensive. It costs almost double what we would have paid at our hotel. Unfortunately, we only found this out afterwards. In addition, the drivers (obviously!) receive a commission. Avoid this place! At least the massage was good. But it doesn't make it any better ...

Best Ayurvedic treatment center I've been to. The location and its natural surrounding and smell gives a relaxing feeling when we enter there the first place. The staff was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to my well-being. The treatments were carefully tailored to address my specific needs, and I felt a profound sense of relaxation and healing throughout my visit. The center's commitment to traditional ayurvedic practices and natural therapies was evident in the high-quality treatments and herbal remedies they offered. I'd like to mention Roshan, Madusanka and Bashini for their excellent massage services given when me and my family visited there. Recommend this place!

Very very bad. My masseuse continually asked her colleague for advice (2 people in each room) and left me for long periods of time. Guide took us there. Complete tourist trap. I waited very cold, I actually had to ask for a blanket twice. And when they finally took off my facemask, I was freezing. My masseuse, and her colleague rushed me to a hot shower and she even got in the shower with me to help get my circulation going. Terrible. Very embarrassing!

I found the massage too soft, even though I told the masseur to increase the strength. It was also very expensive, USD 75 for a 2 hour massage. Perhaps it was to pay for the massage oil. For those who are used to Thai or Indonesian massage, this ayurvedic massage may not be up to your expectations.

The treatment center had a calm and serene atmosphere, The staff at the Ayurveda center were knowledgeable and friendly. The center offered a wide range of Ayurvedic treatments, including massage therapies, herbal remedies, and detoxification procedures. I opted for a full-body massage with Ayurvedic oils, and it was one of the most relaxing experiences I've had. The therapist was skilled and used gentle yet firm strokes, targeting specific pressure points to release tension and promote relaxation. Highly recommended

I had the two hour Ayuravedic massage with reflexology massage and end with a sauna. It was wonderful. Leaves covered the sauna floor so it was epic to breathe in. Very nice Sri Lankan village atmosphere with all the cottages. And very busy $US75 for most packages -$112 AUD

To the general manager of Athreya 2 where we had our treatments on the 12th of August 2023. The massage therapists were good and did a good job about massaging. Only we are very disappointed with the management and method of conduct. Prices not known based on your face only!! Backroom determination of the price by the so called doctor?? We asked for a second session the next day and the prices went up by nearly 100%?? No price list, but a backroom discussion where they determine the price, very awkward!! Also after the massage we were drinking tea in a hut and a person was on face time talking disturbing our peacefulness. When complained to the management we were ignored about it. Terrible service, they do not know what is acceptable at a ayurvedic center. Will definitely not go there again. Many great Ayurvedic places in Sri Lanka with much better service and value for money!! Regards, Dil Tirimanna

Our driver brought us there. We didn’t know anything about the place and the prices before (unfortunately). It is extremely overpriced, we paid 75$/person for 2 hours treatment, which was alright. The “doctor” only talked about prices, but not much details about ayuverdic medicine. ( although her colleague was really kind and she introduced us to some details, but we had to ask them specifically to talk to sombody else, who can provide us more infos). Luckily we could get a warm shower in the end. One more thing i would like to mention, if you have a sensitive skin, avoid the face massage with oils. Even though i haven’t asked for one, i got a short face massage, and now all my face is covered with pimples:(
