35 Meter high tower, nearly 350 steps in 3 stages. 400 meter away from the parking the path goes upwards already. Using no steps until the tower is possible but steepth and all gravel. Amazing views! On the top floor/stage there are signs on the ground signing which destinations are visible in good weather conditions. Enjoy!

A wonderful observation point. Not crowded at all. Were there on Saturday in the early evening - just two more families/couples except us. I usually hate stairs, as I'm not into the best shape nowadays, but it was not complicated in any way even for me to climb up, as there are two lower in-between points (till the top one), perfect for a small rest. At the top it's a bit scary, especially when the weather is windy, as you may feel some jiggles underneath your feet 🙃 I personally wouldn't recommend it for those, who are afraid of height or have some kind of seasickness: it's really easy to get dizzy for the rest of the day after climbing there. Free parking is 3-5 mins away, many benches on the way.

This 300+ stair tower is built with spiral staircases. It takes less than five minutes of climbing the stairs to get to the top without obstructions. The view is fantastic albeit a bit nerve-wracking for those innately afraid of heights, when windy the tower may flex and shift.

Best Part about Herrenburg! Only the bravest will make it to the top! This structure is very sound and sturdy, even in high winds and icy conditions, I was about to climb to the top!

I’m not in the least scared by heights, but even I had to hold on to the hand rails! Well worth the climb to experience an amazing vista! Beautiful forest walks around it too! Car park and visitor centre seems to get busy at weekends!

Fun to have a look around black forest, if the air is clear enough, you can see far.

I really like the place. You can find bus connection from herrenberg Bahnhof. Bus runs every half an hour on week days. From the waldfridhof station, just cross the road and go to Parkplatz. From there you can go to the schönbuchturm. There is less internet connectivity and less signal of mobile network so load map before you go there. You will enjoy 360 view from the top of the architecture. Also it will be very good point for the sunrise as well as sunset. I'm thinking about watching full moon from this tower. Also city light is not so much at this area so better for night photography as well. Must visit. There will going to windy so bring jacket suitable for it because you will going to feel cold at top.

Impressive structure, airy, open and elegant. Wide and easy steps. Sways slightly and purposefully in the wind, but is absolutely safe. Excellent view all around.

Nice place, shaky if you are able to get to the top. Lots of paths to hike or ride on bike.
