Overflowing with drunks, addicts, homeless and every variety of aggresive littering and theft, this station has become a lowlight of the otherwise lovely neighborhood. Could need some refurbishment and definitely more law enforcement.

Construction site, as most of the train stations currently in Germany. Pls check your track before departure, several last minute changed. Opposite the back entrance is a free Corona fast test centre

Bustling bus and train station with all in one shopping (Rewe, Rossman, McDonalds, KFC etc) and various food. Try Asian Wok’s fried rice which is a thumbs up, the Asian chef’s cooking is far and above the normal gebratener reis we have been used to in Germany

I’d rather take 5 busses to reach my destination rather than have a layover there. The station is dirty and full with drunk, aggressive and/or homeless people. Beggars have flooded the streets and apparently if you simply just walk by you’re getting verbal offenses. Lack of law enforcement. Last but not least, for a woman it ain’t safe there to walk on her own. Personally I feel mortified to take a walk there when the sun is down.

Connectivity to almost all places in Hamburg. In addition we have a Lidl in the building, near by many consumer stores are there. ATMs machines are there , so nearly all the things available. Security wise too it's much safer than other stations

The shops and options / food are good. But what's really distracting is the amount of poverty and homeless. Barely every 2 secs someone begs you for food or money. Homeless everywhere. The smell is also very bad. It's extremely sad for a country like Germany

A semi big train 🚆 station of nice Hamburg. ICE, EC, regionals trains 🚃 and S-Bahn are there to transfer you inside and outside of Hamburg city 🌆. The S-Bahn is under ground and the bus 🚌 station is outside. This train station 🚉 has almost all things that other train station 🚉 has. But I did not find the free WiFi in emergency 🦺 cases.

I mean, it's a train station. But they really need somewhere for people who have long layovers to wait comfortably. A free lounge for ticket holders with soft seating wouldn't be a terrible idea.

If you are in transfer during the night, don't count on toilets! They are closed till 5 AM. Do your business before you come at Altona or you have to wait till your train comes 🙄

You can find anything from homeless people to drug addicts, smelly elevetors to mountain of pigeon poo which is basically not cleaned at all. I really wonder if anybody feels responsible cleaning this place and where all the tax money collected goes to. Place is disgusting.

Nice Station, you can find every shop on this station, for groceries you can find Lidl and Edeka, also Media Market for electronic items on top floor, restaurant and breakfast items on ground floor. HVV and DB office for any inquiries and also there are some Hair Salons on the station.

It is like a small town railway. Platform may change suddenly. Watch out for the Last minute changes. Tickets can be procured inside less crowded but may take to purchase tickets. Indian restaurant are available vegan options are available. Good number of restaurants and easy access to station. Well connected to Frankfurt.

Altona Bahnhof is clean, well structured and amazing place to arrive in Hamburg. I believe it is even better than the Hauptbahnhof of Hamburg. It is the door way to many opportunities.

The Station Changed a lot. The small quick restaurants became very expensive also. But there are Supermarkets in it which are open on weeeknds and holidays. Its clean and safe space.

The train station is not blame for my rage. The train is. It’s simply a place where late trains arrive and leave from. It was strikingly massive, and the locals are helpful.

Hamburg Altona Train Station is one of the major transportation hubs in the city of Hamburg, Germany. As a frequent traveler, I have had the pleasure of visiting this train station on several occasions, and I must say that it is one of the best train stations I have ever been to. The station is located in the Altona district of Hamburg, and it's easily accessible by public transportation or by car. It's a modern and well-designed train station with a spacious and clean interior. The station is also equipped with all the necessary facilities that travelers might need, such as restrooms, food outlets, and information desks. One of the things that I love about Hamburg Altona Train Station is its excellent connectivity. The station is well-connected to several major cities in Germany, as well as other European destinations. The train schedules are also well-organized, making it easy to plan your journey and make connections. Another thing that I appreciate about this train station is its security. There are security personnel stationed throughout the station, and there are security cameras installed in strategic locations. This gives me a sense of safety and security while waiting for my train or while moving around the station.

Cute small station compared to the main one. Difficult to get lost, simple and clear. Restaurant wise kinda ok but not the best options. If you can take the train from here instead of the main station, it would be emptier to find a place for your luggage.

Altona is interesting place, always active and close to the Elbe. The train station is mostly full. You can find also homeless people around it. So take care and let the life flows.

Typical German station, usually chaotic in the summer holidays due to building and repair work

  • 4/5 Avina K. 2 years ago on Google
Large train/ bus station with a shopping complex built around it. There are several food places: restaurants, bakeries, fast food joints, etc. It is a busy place with a variety of people roaming around, so be careful with your belongings.

Busy. Not enough elevators. And those that are there are dirty and smell. Yahh...well. It's a train station. 🤷‍♀️

  • 4/5 Nattasha K. 2 years ago on Google
Actually it is good, but I think they need to put a more clear signs to each S-Bahn or bus. Else everything was fine

  • 4/5 Pavel L. 2 years ago on Google
I wouldn't say it's a pleasure to be there, but if you need your bus you will find one. And of course there's a HVV store and some press and bakery.

  • 3/5 mercy k. 2 years ago on Google
Easily accessible and not as busy as the main station. Exits can be sometimes confusing
