(Translated by Google) (ES / EN) Fantastic views! The viewpoint is wonderful, without a doubt one of the most beautiful towns in the area. Loved this mountain village, the castle and dolls house museum are well worth a visit. Make sure you allow time for a wander round the village streets. Definitely recommend

This is a very popular place, not so much for the castle itself but for the views and the pretty tourist village on the hill below. We visited on a Saturday and it was very busy with everyone struggling to park despite three car parks within 5 minutes walk of the castle. Entry to the castle is through the village and then via the attached house, which is a museum of nineteenth century middle class life I think, I didn't really pay much attention as I don't read Spanish and the period doesn't interest me. The castle itself is really just a series of viewpoints and there's almost nothing to show the original walls or towers. It had been an important Moorish castle until the Reconquista but suffered damage from earthquakes, from a mine in the War of the Spanish Succession and was finally permanently decommissioned in 1848.

Oh my goodness what a feast for the eyes!!!! This place is not to be missed on your visit to the costa Blanca. Historic, picturesque & very charming. Easy to navigate but there are a few uphill steps that the elderly or people with walking difficulties may find challenging. A bit slippy underfoot in places due to the very worn pebble paths so please wear sensible walking shoes. Pushchairs for children would not find the walkways easy to use. Gift shops are very reasonably priced and not there to rip you off. Restaurants and bars to provide refreshments and toilets situated on the car park. Well worth the visit and would highly recommend you go. What are you waiting for???

Lovely little town which we accessed from your Jeep Safari, lots of little shops and things to see. Just worry noting if you want to pop up to the top , it's 23 euros , but if you've travelled that far, you'll want to go in and take some fantastic photos

Beautiful little mountain village with spectacular views across to the lake. Visit the mansion and climb up to the towers to get the best views. Play park for the kids, icecream shops and lots of souvenirs.

Beautifull viewpoint on the lake and the surrounding mountains. The little village is also worth visiting despite the great amount of tourists. Some nice terraces for a drink or a little snack, also a lot of parking space available. A little gem in the hinterland from Benidorm.

Lot’s of small shops and it’s a very cute place to visit! We went with a few people including our grandma. She made it all the way up to the village, so if you are able to climb a few steps it’s definitely worth a visit. Also nice to visit the very blue lake at the bottom.

Love this place. Great for photos and beautiful scenery. Some cafes supply carry out sandwiches etc but can be busy so if Yr cutting it fine to get back on your bus, make do with a mars bar. If Yr fit enough, go through the museum under the arch and access the steps to the top for panoramic photos. There are little museums in the village which you can visit cheaply and they contribute to the overall experience. Enjoy. M

This is a lovely location to bring the family. The mountain and valley views are breathtaking. The quaint town full of restaurants, shops and museums is interesting. We particularly liked the 18th century Spanish home with traditional mills, presses and other implements of life back then. There’s an amazing view of the reservoir and dam below - the colour of it in the sunlight doesn’t look real - it’s turquoise. The parking is inexpensive at 2€ for the day. There are lots of things to do including visiting the castle and walking.

El Castell de Guadalest or simply Guadalest  is a town of Valencia. Guadalest has an area of 16 km² and it has total population of 189 inhabitants(approximately). It is an excellent place to visit and you will experience vibes of a castle. It has exceptionally good view of lake and high rise mountains. It has spacious parking and strongly recommended for tourists. For more details follow me on YouTube: @life.beyond.borders

OK it's a tourist trap. But it is one worth stepping into. The views are amazing. If you can, arrive early and avoid the coach parties. You can "do the walk" and be sitting down enjoying a well-earned drink before it gets busy busy.

Most amazing view from the top of the mountain pass as you drive over the top. And the exhilarating feeling seeing the turquoise lake is second to none 🤩 we loved it so much we drove back twice 💙

I really like this castle! Small and cozy, with antique furniture and interior items. Nice balcony overlooking the lake. Entrance costs 4 euros for adults, 3 euros for children (under 10 years old).

Beautiful hilltop village, offering spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. Some quaint souvenir shops and bars en route.

  • 5/5 Tony M. 7 months ago on Google
You ideally need to get there fairly early as carparks can soon fill up. Modest parking charge. Very short walk to Castell. The walk up to the top is fairly steep but helped by a combination of steps and a ramps for wheelchairs. You might want two people to take turns wheelchair pushing! Note, many of the footpaths are cobbled and whilst we were there in late August, the cobbles appeared to be polished and slightly slippery even when dry. The winding way up is very interesting with many interesting buildings and shops. The church you pass is fascinating with an interesting history. The view over the walls at the top is tremendous (if you have a head for heights!) with a reservoir at the bottom of the valley which was a striking deep blue on our visit. Ther are several street cafés, bars etc but can get crowded. Some offer good value (for a busy tourist attraction) especially those at the bottom before you start the walk up to the top. Well worth a visit especially as free.

Most interesting place to visit. We came as part of a tour. Would have liked to spend the day there as so much to see. We only had the time to visit the castle. Highly recommend.

Nice to visit. Unfortunately no signs in the different rooms, so bit hard to see what's inside the different rooms. Nice overlooking to lake Guadalest!

Guadalest is a beautiful little town situated within the mountains with great views. It cost us €2 to park and we spent most of the day checking out the museums, shops and enjoying the coffee places and restaurants. I’d highly recommend acquiring tickets to enter the museum for the castle. There’s allot of artefacts and cultural history regarding the town and then the tour leads you all the way to the top of the castle with magnificent views at the top. Overall it was a great day trip out.

Really nice village. Definitely worth a visit. Plenty of small restaurants and quaint little shops with lovely viewpoints and a nice church. The castle is low cost entry and is worth visiting, open to 8pm most days. It is a like a small stately home inside then outside there are steps up and around the rock and battlements. Stations of the cross like the way up. Amazing views over the turquoise lake in the valley below and surrounding mountains.

Guadalest is an amazing day out. Loads to do and see with a good choice of shops, bars, restaurants and museums. The view from the top is astounding and well worth the price of the museum, which gives you access to the highest part of the town. It is very easy to spend several hours here, just browsing the unusual shops.

It is one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, a great place to explore. You need a day to visit, the village has many museums: Dollhouse Museum, Microminiatures, Museum of Salt and Pepper, Ethnological Museum and Medieval Museum. Here you can enjoy nature and history.

  • 4/5 Tony P. 9 months ago on Google
Lovely views and a very scenic drive to get to Guadalest. We were disappointed to find (at 1:30pm) that the castle closes from 1-3pm, fortunately we were there in 2019 so have at least seen it previously. Lots of souvenir shops, a couple of restaurants at the top and also a couple of microminature museums there to visit.

Wonderful place to visit. The village was built on top of a hill/mountain and fairly well preserved. There are museums and churches to see and many buildings have been built into the mountain itself. There are also impressive views to be had from observation ooints

A niice place to spend a few hours. You can visit castle, several mini museums and lots of stylish shops. If you come by car, definitely try the sapphire blue lake below the castle.. The water is deep and perfect for swimming. Can't suggest for small kids and poor swimmers.

very lovely village and definitely worth a visit. there's a parking lot for 2 Euro (cash only) and the entry for the castle is 4 Euro. it's a little 'touristy' but that's fine.

  • 4/5 Stephen 4 years ago on Google
Nice small village in the mountains, BUT super touristic. The main point of the village is the castle, but you can perfectly visit Guadalest without the castle. You’ll still get astonishing views! The shops were selling typically Spanish souvenirs, overpriced ofcourse. It also seemed like they all had the same product offer. Although there were some shops that were selling unique products and reasonably priced.

What an experience and definitely worth a visit. Lovely little town at the bottom with cafes, restaurants and shops. The castle itself was about 4 euros each to get in and worth every penny. Starts off with a look around the house which is lovely and then a climb up some steps to the top of the castle with breathtaking views in every direction. I can’t describe how amazing it was there. Absolutely loved it. The dam you see from the top is only a short drive from here

A lovely scenic spot to visit for a nice (but slightly challenging) walk. Has some amazing little shops that sell all sorts of trinkets and some truly beautiful views from the top of the castle. Especially the famous teal colour lagoon down in the valley. Not really one for the little uns though as there isn't much to entertain them

  • 5/5 Menasseh 1 year ago on Google
This village is one of the 100 most beautiful villages in Spain, and rightly so. As touristy as it is (parking spaces for buses and cars and only souvenir shops and places to eat in the city) it is absolutely worth it. Entry to the castle itself is 4 euros.
