Great place to buy some gifts. We usually purchase our Chile ristras from here because they are large and sprayed with a gloss. They hold up well all year long on our outside patio. We also like to purchase a couple of bags of frozen chile to take to friends or family. Each quart bag holds about 6 large roasted and peeled chile. I haven't tried the salsa yet,but the Mrs. Rentrows habanero queso will light your tongue on fire and then your pants. Watch out, this is hot stuff! Save yourself and dont purchase the cute green chile air freshener. It stinks! I still have not been able to get that smell out of my car. It looks super cute, but dont open it and what ever you do,dont hang it in your car.

Great hidden gem! The woman at the shop was very knowledgeable about peppers and spice! I learned a lot. Lots of cute pepper trinkets and hot sauces to buy and it all supports the students, so that's awesome. The teaching farm was beautiful and full of very unique looking peppers. There were grapes as well. Worth the stop!

Call ahead to learn the best place to park. It’s a great place to go to learn about chilis and buy seeds, sauces, and more. The woman who works there, April, is a delight!! She is not only very knowledgeable but friendly and kind. She grew up in the area and gave us excellent local restaurant and bar recommendations!

Not necessarily easy to find and you have to pay to park (meters). The store is small, but they have some very interesting free print-outs, t-shirts, pepper seeds, stickers, hot sauce, candles, etc. at reasonable prices. We will definitely be back!

This place is super local and part of the University. Great place to find things spicy and savory. Cook books, sauces salsas, candy. Love it here. Go if you're looking for cool stocking stuffers.

If you are a Chile head and are near NMSU, this is a must-visit (and one that most people don't realize exists). Not the widest selection of pepper related things, but the items are all selected with a purpose. They all tie back to NMSU or at least to the state. Plus all relate to either the history of pepper research at NMSU or to the popularization of NM cuisine. There is also the botanical garden and pepper gardens just up the street 5 minutes or so. This makes for an interesting side trip.

Quirky, but cool to visit if you are a spice nut with a little bit of time. They have a variety of sauces that you can taste, and for me most exciting a lot of seeds that were available for purchase. Not a ton of signage expect for their current projects. The room is located within an academic building but well signed. The garden which is a drive away wasn’t worth it as it didn’t really appear to be open to the public.
