The Italian Kitchen is one of those iconic establishments that you must try for authentic Italian cuisine. Nestled deep in the Five Points Area, it's a place you should go to get a hearty, wholesome meal. The atmosphere is rustic and very cozy, but it is a warm and inviting place. I used to love coming here in the past, but parking was really difficult and was sad if I could not eat here. I am grateful that they fixed the parking situation and was able to eat here once again. I went for their classic Meatball Spaghetti with the meat sauce. I also opted for their House Italian salad that accompanies this meal. All in all, it was delicious faire and I recommend you come and try it out before hitting up a run of the mill Italian restaurant where you can go to any city and eat there. I strongly suggest that you go during an off hour so that you will be taken care of by the amazing staff!

We were so excited to order from here tonight after reading all the reviews, but unfortunately our meal was beyond awful. I ordered the chicken parmesan which the menu states is served with spaghetti—I received spaghetti that was smothered in meat sauce. I’m unable to eat beef and pork and had the menu said meat sauce on there I would have ordered it with just marinara. The breading on my chicken was so horribly salty that it rendered it completely inedible. My friend ordered the spaghetti with mushrooms and meat sauce—he said the mushrooms tasted like they were dumped into the sauce straight from a can. They clearly were not fresh and lacked flavor. Even the garlic bread was flavorless. The only thing that was done well was my son’s simple spaghetti with meat sauce. We’re very disappointed that we spent $50 (after tip) on a meal that was completely inedible. We certainly will not be back.

I'll give this 5 stats because of how quirky it was. Tiny restaurant that was obviously once a house.kitxhwn is smaller than most apartment kitchens, but they produce a lot of fairly good Italian food. Service was quick and friendly. It was also nice that there was no wait even on Black Friday!

You won’t REGRET it!! Super delicious! The taste was authentic, meals were very well served. It was my first and definitely not my last! My spouse and I each received huge bowl of salad, Chicken Parmigiana, and a side of Spaghetti and complemented with delicious lemonade! $40!! 😱 Def a great price. Staff was very warmly friendly.

WARNING - Do NOT get the breaded cutlet. It was a paper thin piece of unknown small breaded meat. We asked for the chicken patty instead and were charged for it. Please remove this $13 item from the menu. The cheese sticks were okay, likely from frozen. The rest of our meals (4) were good, but could have been made at home. 3 stars for the delicious Cannoli.

Came by for some lunch and found the place really hopping. Food and service was great! Met the owner Santiago Alonzo III. He's a very personable guy and a great fit to this long standing establishment.

Tina found this quant little ol Italian restaurant for us to eat at tonight. They said it's been in business for 73 years by the same family. The sauce was good. Tina had the Eggplant Parmesan with spaghetti meat sauce. I had the lasagna of course. We both got ministroni soup and a real nice salad. The spumoni ice cream we topped it off with was great! Of course I had to have a Stella Artois! Was a great place!

Grew up eating @ Italian kitchen.. Leave immediately after closing!!! Or will Be Towed .. Owner refused to apologise for towing my beautiful truck, or offer to pay for towing or free food equivalent .. was rude & walked away.. waitress recognised me from the night before, but told the owner, what he wanted to hear . Extremely disappointed. Adding to this , they’ve never seen a black card before, treated me like a thief, extremely frustrating & publicly shamed me for having a black card.. charged me half a dozen times. Was called by amex to verify mistake.

The Italian Kitchen is an El Paso icon and there is a good reason why it is still serving delicious Italian food today. The restaurant has a parking lot in the back. The restaurant building is cozy or quaint well ok it is small so for a big party it might be a challenge.

This is the place I tell everyone I know in El Paso to go if they want authentic Italian-American food. It reminds of what I grew up with. No frills; just great sauce, and great food. I love their Southwest take on lasagna too. Their Alfredo Green Chile Chicken lasagna is FANTASTIC. Not to mention their Chicken Jerusalem. Whatever you get, you won't be disappointed 🤌

So I do like the food and it had good taste. Took a long while to get to the table. I understand we had a party of four, but it took over 40 minutes, and they got one of the orders wrong. Didn't make a big fuss because it had already taken so long. There's no way I was going to wait another 20 minutes to get the plate corrected. We got seated in a back room and felt like the staff kind of forgot about us. Our drinks were empty, and we had to constantly ask for water or refill on the tea. Not what I was used to. It had been a while since I had eaten there. Don't really know how soon I'll be going back. For sure, I did not feel like I got my money's worth. Just didn't feel like service or food was worth over $100 spent there.

Their spaghetti with meat sauce and mushrooms was decent, except they use canned mushrooms which is a BIG deal breaker for me. And if you ask for extra powdered cheese on the side for a take out order, you do not get a small container of cheese. Instead, you get a teeny tiny amount of powdered cheese that comes in itty bitty prepackaged paper squares. For one, this does not qualify as "extra" cheese due to how small they are, but on top of that, they taste so nasty

I had a good memory time since I was 2 year old in the year of 2000-2001. My family and I been to Italian kitchen. I remember the restaurant look like a small area and owned old house in 1948. The employee in restaurant is so sweetest and kind behavior. The parking may hard to go inside. My favorite menu is spaghetti chili con carne con queso since I was 10 year old in 2009. LOVE YOU ITALIAN KITCHEN!!!

This review is in no way to harm their reputation for their food, it was fantastic as always. I arrived early to reserve a table for 5 knowing they’d be busy on a Saturday night. I walked in at approximately 5:35pm and asked for the table I needed to which they gave me a table for 10. The rest of the party was to show up after 6 from church. At about 6:05, After ordering a water and a beer, I was asked by management how much longer because they didn’t know it was gonna be an hour before they showed up. There was multiple parties showing up that needed a similar sized table. I understand the need to keep business moving and happy, but I feel it was a little rude on their part when they’re the ones that gave me the large table for ten people. The manager must be afraid of confrontation, because she doesn’t say a word, and her vibe is extremely uninviting. I honestly felt like getting up and leaving to another Italian restaurant. As I’m sitting here typing this up, I feel like we’re being rushed to get out the restaurant. I, most likely, won’t be ever coming back to this place. My girlfriend and her family have been coming here 20+ years and it’s safe to say that The Italian Kitchen has lost some loyal, lifetime customers.

Dining area dirty...food on the floor and walls caked with sauce, who knows what else. Food was bland with little flavor, most of it tasted like it could have been made at your local walmart. Bug in my drink. Nothing that would make me recommend the place to anyone or return....I hoped for better but did not enjoy the meal.

The food is home-made Italian, not frozen out of a box. I wish it was cold it always feels a bit warm. It's a small place but that's the Italian warmth. Like you are in some Italians kitchen.

Some friends took me there last night for dinner. I had the Fettuccine Alfredo with Shrimp. It was fantastic It was just as good as Olive Garden and less expensive. I couldn't even finish it all. I'll definitely be going back again. You could count on it.

I was on the job with Favor and had accepted an order for The Italian Kitchen around 5:00 p.m. Just my luck "traffic hour" but i was not worried up until the point where I attempted to contact The Italian Kitchen. I could not get a hold of anyone via phone. I did mot email them because in my opinion it is always best to know who your speaking with and email is just not it. Once i arrived and placed my order (6:23) since their phone was not working it took approximately 35 minutes to receive the customers order. I was offered water once and reassured numerous times but i stand by my rating. But to each their own and don't knock it till you try it people because everyone's experience is always different Bon appetite. Did I mention it was valentines day

They served a pretty good quantity of food. My Chile Alfredo Pasta flavor was not so appealing the chicken breaded come from a bag not fresh. And the salad that come with it was just plain lettuce top some thin cucumber. The toast very very buttery. $$$ prices about $12 some dollars for the plate. Place is in need of a renovation very old. I had heard it was good, I differ in opinion waitress was very courteous and nice. But food quality was not there.

I enjoy this small Italian place. It is worth the drive, prices are reasonable and food is delicious, always comes out hot. Staff are very nice and attentive, come whenever you need them. Parking is small, need to park in the back of the restaurant going through an alley. Nonetheless, this place does not disappoint every time we go. My kids get a free lollipop every time we visit.

The salad to start is great. The homemade Italian dressing is amazing and I get extra to take home. The sandwiches and pasta are delicious. You can't go wrong when you ask for the pasta baked. This place gets crowded but it's for a reason. Because the food is great. It has a very homey feel to it. The waitress has always been very attentive to my family and myself. They work with items on the menu to satisfy your needs. I wouldn't go anywhere else in town for Italian.

The service was horrible. My party of 3 sat and ordered right before a party of 7. An hour later my party was still waiting for our food. The party of seven was already packing up their food to go. I paid $27 for 3 drinks and 2 salads. A waste waste of money. No one had the decency to acknowledge us and apologize. I will never go there again.

I really enjoyed the place, It feels like a home kitchen rather than a restaurant. Only would enjoy it if it was a soda fountain instead of bottled everything (soda, water, beer) definitely will be going back.

2020 is their 72nd year. That alone says a lot about this cozy place in a house converted to a comfortable, feels-like-home, family restaurant. The dishes were well prepared and delicious Italian fare. Service was prompt, friendly and (thankfully) un-intrusive. This is our fav Italian and do recommend them for those looking for a homey Italian dining experience.
