I try to be gentle with my review: Two week after singing up, a senior pooped in the water. During this time the pool was open and it was as no big deal. Moving forward I Find a large group of diaper citizens 70-90+ When I try to address the issue, they tried to brush it off or give an example of some other sorts, such as well children poop and pea as well. Very lame. They need to stop taking seniors and send them elsewhere. I’m very fed up with them. They provide with towels, but they do not use softener with the towels. The towels are very rough . The quality of the shampoos and conditioners aren’t that great in the showers . The ladies working in the back room are very angry and on the edge. Twice I walked in with the cell phone in my hand and they started yelling that I should not be holding a phone . I was surprised, “how rude they were??” I try to explain to them, that the sign says no talking on the phone. I am just holding my phone . I found them extremely rude Pros: Amazing yoga, Zumba and dance classes. All the teachers and instructors are very inspiring and amazing . The gentleman who sign up our names is also very fair and takes care is you right away. The lounge area with the heated seats and the restaurant is amazing as well. The rest of the facility is pretty decent. The front desk staff are also extremely friendly and helpful .

For over two years I voiced my concerns to management and executive management regarding unsanitary pool conditions. Conditions became worse after the closing of the Howard Hughes Center facility and more people using the pool. Management was non-responsive and demonstrated annoyance when concerns were shared. I had hoped that things would improve after the remodeling but they didn’t . After sharing my concerns with the Dept. Of Health the pool was shut down for a period of time until it was brought up to standards. It was also exposed by the health Dept that the proper permits were not obtained by Bay Club and that the pool was not inspected before re-opening. A few days after Bay Club found out that I had notified the health Dept I received a phone call that they were terminating my membership. Shame on them for their retaliatory response. I now go to another health club just down the street. So worth the $20 more per month. I forgot how nice it is to swim in a truly “exquisite” pool.

Poor client services, membership staff was bureaucratic and generally unhelpful. "free classes" often booked or infrequent. Used the pool quite a bit for a time, so kept my membership, but will be will be cancelling as soon as possible as the club has degenerated despite a hefty monthly membership fee.

Terrible parking and way too overcrowded now. Great gym and great layout just nearly impossible to park and get machines. For the price they should fix this stuff.

I've been going to the Bay club on and off for the past eleven years, every time I'm back to LA I end up signing up again. There aren't too many options in the area for private gyms, I really wish the members from the Howard Hughes did not merge to this location, because they tend to not clean up after themselves and some talk loud on the phone while working out, but seems like they're not staying for too long after their contracts end. I'm excited about the new renovation, the facility looks much better now. They have a good variety of classes, the instructors are knowledgeable, yoga practice is very good similar to Yoga Loft, they have private Pilates and regular Pilates classes that are amazing to tone up. I enjoy my late night workout and equipment. There is a program of activities that change during the year such as conducting sound bath sessions. The management are nice and professional when I contact them of issues. Cafe and food menu is fresh with healthy choices and pleasant service The only concern is that the jaccuzi needs to be drained more often with more members using it .. or at least filter foam in the ladies spa. I'll update my review if this issue is fixed as I hope it does!

For the premium price, very underwhelming for a large facility with some good amenities and nice cafe. Parking is is horrible most times of the day and weekend. People on top of you on the gym floor, locker room, and pool. My guess is they will start placing two shower heads in the showers so people can double up. Gym oversubscribed and overpriced. It's a 24 hour fitness with lipstick. Private equity firm that owns it squeezing every nickel they can out of it. Ok with them creating a very profitable business. However, I wish the experience matched the price.

The club is nice but do not match the high fees. I put my membership on hold and was charged a full month then when I ended my membership was charged another full month within 2 month span.. I was called to ask for my feedback and when I gave my feedback there was no compensation for this error. I reviewed the policy shared with me and it did not support the fees applied.

I was skeptical initially, but I'm completely won over at this point. They've made good on their promise of new equipment. The ellipticals are a definite improvement. The same routine is now leaving me drenched, which really makes the dual speed fan a joy. The toiletries - shampoo/conditioner/shower gel are superior. And what really jazzes me, as retired Teamster, is the way management treats their employees. They took over, gave them a raise and promoted them to full time. Unheard of!!!

The Bay Club is truly the most family friendly fitness and recreation option in South Bay. I have children ranging different ages and there is really something for everyone. The kids club is very interactive professional and has amazing activities. I'm so happy we decided to make the investment to be part of the community absolutely a game changer. Additionally the whole process of getting signed up and visiting didn't feel like a sales experience. It felt like partnership!

I had a fantastic experience at Bay Club for the 2 years I was a member and I largely attribute it to Thomas Brooks - the Senior Membership Director. He helped me in any way he could when my fiance and I were signing up, was very understanding when I had to push my start date because I had to fly out of state for an emergency, has helped me numerous times with booking classes and rooms (which I don't even believe falls under his typical role), and has just been a fantastic human being. He is so kind and eager to help. I wish everyone was as good at their jobs as Thomas is.

GreAt classes, amazing staff. I Usually take ignite circuit training and dance Groov3 or hip hop. Then I steam and eat in the cafe and do work. It’s a real fitness club with high quality services and very clean facilities.

BayClub will be raising our rate by $40 a month, with less than a month notice - after they had already raised our rate by $10 the previous year without notice. They say that this change in fees would make them market price but this gym is just not on par with similar priced gyms and it has had a significant dip in quality over the past year- it is now way over capacity so don’t expect to find parking at peak and not so peak hours, you will have to park a block a way - there are not enough treadmills, expect to wait 5-10 minutes - same with a lot of essential machines, of which they sometimes only have one or two, and instead there are a lot of unused novelty machines - the lockers are ancient and easy to hack so there have been a lot of thefts and their only solution was to post a sign saying they’re not responsible and to leave your valuables at home - so don’t bring your phone keys or wallet to the gym - with two other recent Bay Club closures we are getting even less value for the money - NOT WORTH THE PRICE

Gym itself is great. Nice facilities and classes. Parking is rough. There should be a family entrance but most guys use this parking making it hard for families with kids since the children cannot use the main entrance. Also childcare is impossible. You have to be on the hunt for space a week before. What kills me is marking territory in classes. Let's say you go to hip hop at 9am. There are already towels on the floor marking "spots", people throw them then go to the bathroom, go outside, their towel "saving their place" you hear people complain how their usual spot got "taken", there are a few people with attitude just taking the front and sides claiming it with a white towel or water bottle. I've been to other gyms, even of lesser quality, never to one where people feel the need to mark territory. It's nonsense. They even do it for themselves and their friends. It is a weird vibe. Very aggressive for this area, not happy with this.

We have been members of the Bay Club since December 2022, and in that time (about 8 months) they have increased their prices twice (the most recent increase happened without a month notice, so even if you wanted to cancel, you wouldn't be able to do so before the increase went into effect w/ their 30-day notice cancellation policy). They claim that the increase was to make them "market price" however, what they deliver is not inline with gyms in similar price ranges and they have made no enhancements to the facilities to justify a price increase. The locker rooms are dated, there is carpeting throughout the locker room and gym floor, and most of the equipment is old. The gym is constantly packed, parking is a nightmare, and it's impossible to get into the good classes (of which they don't have many). The clientele includes a lot of teenage members that spend more time talking loudly and messing around on the gym floor, in the locker rooms and sauna/steam rooms than they do working out. Recently, I was there on a Monday night, and the women's locker room had towel and trash bins that were overflowing, clumps of hair in the drains/on the walls of almost every shower stall, and garbage on many of the shower floors (including a used tampon applicator). Not even close to being worth the price for what you get! We are currently exploring other options for gyms in the area.

the gym is semi remodeled, price that cost me to become a member was 1,970 for a full year. as the gym looks amazing, they allow anyone in the gym that can open your locker and take your valued items. this has happened before to other members and I don't see any re enforcement. towel service does run out, towels have stains. management advised don't bring valued items in the gym, because they higher end gyms like ours and equinox do get target more. so I advised them that I would cancel and go to planet fitness for $20 a month. knowing for sure items can be stolen. management agreed.

This club is a rip off! My renewal was mailed in prior to the due date but they said they received it after the date on the statement. They screwed me out of additional dollars. Buyer Beware!!!

Great place. The coffee restaurant is super good. I had a 2/2/2 pancakes were GF and delicious. Free coffee until 11am. Gym size is huge, super clean. You can find everything you want. Pretty cool basket ball court too. This place gave me motivation to work out.

Use to love this place but it's turned into a glorified 24 hour fitness. Management is unfriendly especially when checking in guests, and it's literally become a hang out spot for high school kids from El Segundo and Mira Costa. A section of the locker room has been closed for about 3 months and the water fountain has been removed as well. Pickle ball is prioritized over basketball and the club is genuinely ran as a family hang out zone instead of a professional gym. If you're going to pay 200 dollars a month for access to ONE gym (Santa Monica's steam room is down) and they closed the palisades location, it was simply a no brainer to switch the to the gym down the street. *hint hint

Shocked to learn my annual membership dues increase for 2020 is 50% more than I paid in 2019. There has been nothing like this in the 20 years of membership in Spectrum/Bay Club. While increases for improvements may be justified this seems excessive by any measure particularly when improvements are not consistent among Club locations. Very disappointed.

This club is AMAZING! It's huge, and full of something for everyone. You walk in and there's fire pits and lounge seating to enjoy a smoothie or the delicious cafe vida. The staff is amazing, and there are fantastic classes. The kids space is unreal...

The club has a good amount of equipments, cleaned, but there are a few trainers, they’d bully members, this must be their routines since Devin Harris ( manager of trainers) would join in to make it more obvious and threatening.

The facility is clean. The staff is very welcoming. Lots of workout equipments available. Exercise classes are available, however I haven't done any in awhile. Do my own floor weights. Some days l go swimming 🏊‍♀️. The pool lanes are busy. Watch out for the kids swimming after school. The place is busy after 4 pm. So, get there earlier.

I’ve been going to gyms for about 20 years, and the El Segundo facilities, staff, and classes all far exceeded my expectations! Every staff member I interacted with, from the front desk to the fitness instructors, was extremely knowledgeable and professional, and even the gym members themselves were wonderful to interact with (I am not used to this). The El Segundo facility has every sort of equipment imaginable, including TRX, reformers, and a pool, and the classes are understandably popular. Be sure to sign up as far in advance as possible, and try to show up at least five minutes before class and chat with the instructors before diving in. The Ignite class was especially fun!

One of my favorite parts of the day is going to this gym. They have many great classes, a wonderful daycare if needed, the food is good and the sauna, steam room situation is a relaxing treat. Everything is clean and well maintained, the people who work and go there are kind and pleasant. Parking can be challenging on a bad day and popular classes need to be signed up for in time to not be put on a waitlist. Coffee is free from 8-11 am and the shower/locker rooms are equipped with anything you may need.

The best gym I've ever been to. The staff are great. The kids club is amazing. It's the only place I know that watches my kids while I workout. They're always upgrading the equipment. The trainers are amazing. And did I mention free coffee before 11am?

I have been a member of Spectrum for many years, and have visited the El Segundo facility...enjoyed it immensely! Living in Woodland Hills, I have full access to all the Spectrum facilities (Thousand Oaks, Valencia, Canoga Park) and I find them each time clean, comfortable and certainly what I look for in a gym...full workout capabilities. Reading Chad's review puzzled me, but them I realized he goes to the gyms for the restrooms, not to workout...sounds like he needs to go to WestHo - 24 Hr Fitness. I give this particular location 5 stars!

Love this place because it’s spacious! Basketball courts, swimming, dance and yoga studios and racquetball, you can’t beat it! Ample Exervise equipment, ample stretching and floor areas. Also, Cafe Vida food is yummy! I only wish you had quick pre and post workout recovery products.😎

The facilities are excellent and the maintenance staffs are very efficient, equipments are clean . The years I have been going to the bay club I have never waited for an equipment. The club for me is a Santuary , very relaxing especially at the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi

Reviewing prep swim coach, Rob Savage, who is the "swim whisperer." He's will get your child in great shape to qualify for Junior Guards. If you're looking for a coach who praises your child after each lesson then he is not the right coach for you. Parents are not allowed and participation medals are definitely not handed out! He gives praise for improvement, focus and implementing his instruction. His classes aren't easy, but he gets results! Our daughter loved the way he pushed her to bring out the best in herself. Wish coaches across all sports took this approach with children as it also built immense confidence and character!

I was looking for a clean gym to join close to home. I joined Bay Club of El Segundo last week after visiting with a member and tried out their aqua workout with Vivian the coach of the day. Vivian was upbeat and her choice of music was great for working out in the pool. She is always smiling and kept us all moving with foam weights and noodles and my friend and I went home feeling great and a bit sore with our arms and glutes worked out! We went again for her Friday class and enjoyed it tremendously ! Thanks Vivian! Looking forward to more classes with you. Thanks for motivating us !

Joined this location Bay Club less than a month ago and enjoying mostly the pool classes and spa so far . Tried a Zumba class this morning after Ms. Karla V. sub on a Friday aqua cardio class and fell in love with her energy, music and choreography! This morning being my first Zumba class I was happily tired and my quads burning from Karla’s class. I can see all her students loved her vibes! Thank you Karla!! Hope to attend more of your classes and get healthy!!! 💕

We love doing swim lessons here. Alyssa is our 2 year old son's instructor is so caring and wonderful, really makes him enthusiastic about learning to swim! Karrie, head of the department, always organizes fun events for the kids at the pool. We loved doing the Easter egg hunt in the water! And floating pumpkins at Halloween! Definitely recommend the swim program for toddlers!!

My father-in-law, Robert Bates, just turned 93 on 3/31 and the wonderful people at the Spectrum Club, where he has been a member for many years, gave him a birthday party. They invited many of his old friends, some he hadn't seen in many years and even went to his house and picked him up, as it is getting harder for him to drive to the gym. Thank you to all the wonderful people of this gym that made his day perfect.

Awful experience, cancelled membership and they kept charging me. Thankfully I kept the paper I signed to cancel. So I brought that in and they apologized, "yes we'll refund your money"... no response after that, and many other calls to the lady in charge. The only thing that saved me from hundreds of dollars of fraudulent charges and Spectrum's ineptitude was my credit card company.
