Whew…. Where do I even start? The food was dreadful…. I couldn’t believe how tasteless the food was … no seasoning no nothing .. just there…. The breakfast and tacos helped me survive. They have no elevators. If you got luggage be prepared to walk everything up the stairs. The room was nice , but the AC worked when it wanted to.. my room felt like a sauna sometimes..The phones in the room didn’t work either… No 24 hour room service.. Seen so many popular reviews about this resort before booking and STILL don’t understand why. 😂 I won’t be back! Back to Breathless I go !!

I am shocked by any negative reviews here, overall this was an excellent experience. The staff is extremely helpful and kind, I never met one person I felt any differently about. Our room was gorgeous, clean and the bed was comfortable. Our fridge was restocked daily and all towels changed over. Before our last night we used the app to request a room clean and they did a beautiful job! The bartenders were engaging and the drinks were great. The phone app allowed us to request more waters and pillows and both were there in under 20 minutes. The buffet was excellent for all meals and had such a variety. I didn't have one bad meal. I understood that lobster is out of season there so it makes sense it's not on the menu. That's okay because the rest of it was great! The nightly entertainment and ability to pop over to Santa Fe's night club was great. We did leave the resort a few times, and a cab was called for us by one of the staff members. The resort is exceptionally clean and well kept - I can't emphasize this enough. I woke up early every morning and watched them clean all the pool areas exquisitely while sitting on my balcony. The people were great, it was clean and safe, the drinks were excellent and the experience a 10/10.

Great views super friendly staff . The hotel is getting older but still really nice place to hang out. It was 14$ cab to the downtown area but it was only a 5 min ride. The food was good not amazing. As for night life it was not good at all they did have live shows but when they end the hotel shuts down and finding anything to do is impossible unless you go into downtown area. No dancing and only one bar open late. As for the view it was amazing from anywhere on the resort.

Two Stars says it’s “OK” and I suppose I could agree on some aspects, but overall it gets a 1-star “Poor.” Primarily, our main complaint is that our room smelled like a week old wet used kitchen rag, we attributed it to the “cleaning” products that were used to “clean” our floors. Every day, the floors had a weird and smelly wetness/almost stickiness to them after the room was “serviced.” Yeah maybe a slight overuse of air quotes…. But seriously everything stunk terribly, including our clothing. Everything, worn or not, went directly to the laundry the minute we walked in our home. The luggage is airing out on the porch as I write this. Food — it’s OK overall for an all-inclusive. The “specialty” restaurants were nothing special at all. However, the drink selection at this place is fairly OK and certainly better than the all-inclusive we stayed at down in Tulum, so it has that going for it. You CANNOT go into the ocean out in front of the resort, by the way, an important detail not advertised for obvious reasons. That is the reason we end up with a 1-star.

All-inclusive...true. But it depends on your expectations. There are six restaurants, a snack bar, 24 hour room service and a lobby snack area. However, the restaurant menus are smaller than I expected. The food is OK, not bad but not great. The best food was at Promenade - large buffet. This is the only choice for breakfast and lunch. Dinner we didn't get to them all. The Italian was decent - appetizers are buffet style. Pizza is awful. Lasagna was mostly cheese and pasta - lacked flavor. Same for ravioli. Except for pizza I would have stuck to appetizers. The breakfast is good. Wide variety and plenty of choices. They were out of Bloody Mary mix 😕. I like the in room dispensers. They don't out full bottles in them - maybe 1/2 full. But you can ask for more. Fridge was limited to Pepsi, diet 7-up, beer and a couple cans of tonic. Again, you can ask for more but some margarita/bloody mary mix would have been nice. Room service is very limited and just OK. Turkey sandwich, basic club (no bacon), basic nachos (no meat / just separate ingredients on a plate)....order two - small portions. They are very fast though - 15/20 minutes. The pools were very crowded. The entire hotel is a little loud...room was OK but the surfaces are all hard everywhere so sound echos and carries. The beach was closed for dangerous weather a couple days when we were here. There weren't umbrellas and chairs on the beach like we expected...sit in the sand and sip on cocktails isn't what this place is about. We got a good deal so, over all, worth it. However it isn't a luxury hotel.

Before I booked this hotel, I read all reviews, there is only one thing I agree that Spirit is not the best. 1.check-in is fast 2. Room is remodeled and looks a new one. 3. Facility is located in the best place . 4. Customer services (waiter/waitress)are excellent. 5. Breakfast I gave $2 tip, Lunch $2-5, dinner $5. I didn’t drink too much but each cup I paid $1. Very very good hotel for a family!

All good reviews here are fake. Or 99% are. Only left a few 1 stars. And this deserves it. Room smelled like wet sewage. Most of the Staff are rude. Food is not great. Putting it nice. Stupid rules Also asked to be woken up to catch the shuttle. Not only did they forget. They charged us $50 for staying 15 min past checkout. No joke. Reused to let us leave before we paid it and made us take a taxi they picked. I can go on. And we supposedly paid for the better hotel. 100 different and this stands out for all the wrong reasons.

I loved my stay at Riu. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The rooms are deeply cleaned and done every day. There’s lots of options for food and a la cart options like Italian, steak, Japanese, fusion, and Indian. Indian, Japanese and Steak are must try! It’s not Michelin star but it’s pretty good for an all inclusive. The location is great, lots of available lounge chairs, pool water was comfortable. No issues finding a place to lay down. You can also visit the other Riu resorts when you stay here. The difference between this palace and the other is that this one allows kids while the other is adults only and more of a party vibe. I liked this Riu though because it’s a little more quiet, bigger, albeit a bit older. Weather for December was perfect - I’ll definitely book this Riu resort again!

Had an amazing time. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. Very family friendly as well. Just be careful on the floors. My boyfriend slipped and fell twice. Dry off thoroughly! We finally got the okay of the land about 3 days in. We tried all the food except the Mexican restaurant, but even the themed restaurants had much of the same food as the main buffet, so we aren't missing out on much. I ate my fill, drank too my heart's content, and really did enjoy everything about this trip. I'd definitely return one day.

I’ll give this Riu Cabo San Lucas resort 3 stars for the beautiful grounds and location but I was pretty disappointed with everything else :/ I’ll preface by saying I’m not usually one for an all-inclusive resort because I like to experience the authenticity of the food & people wherever I travel too, so my expectations were not high. THE ROOM: clean enough, there were some hairs and dirt around the toilet which I don’t really care about. The bed was very hard and springy, impossible to sleep comfortably unless you are really drunk etc (which probably isn’t a problem for most people who stay here 😅) there was black mildew all over the white curtains and the whole room smelled like it, as did all of my belongings when I got home down to my makeup brushes and my purse. I don’t think this is the hotels fault, it’s humid there and it is what it is, but maybe some bleach would do the curtains good. AMENITIES The pool/bar areas & beach lounge/bar areas were absolutely gorgeous and worth every penny of the stay. Right on the water, $5 Uber to downtown (you have to walk all the way out of the resorts complex to get an Uber though) I recommend going to town for authentic tacos & margaritas. Nothing on the resort comes anywhere close to the ceviche at The Office THE FOOD/DRINKS Absolutely disgusting, most of it inedible. I was actually shocked by how bad it was. I was hoping for at lease Olive Garden quality.. this wasn’t even middle school baseball snack bar level quality. At the Krystal restaurant, the steak tasted like burning rubber. It was very perplexing. Many dishes just had weird flavors that aren’t reminiscent of food. I’ll eat overcooked, dry, unseasoned… I’m not picky. I’d eat steamed broccoli from the freezer, with nothing on it… but the food here is just … not what food is supposed to taste like.. it’s hard to describe 😅. We also ate at the Japanese restaurant.. I ordered fried rice thinking it would be safe… it was straight up Rice-a-Roni but even saltier With cut up uncooked plain tofu on top and some bell peppers that were somehow flavorless 🤔🤔. The breakfast & dinner at the buffet was ok or miss. I got enchiladas that tasted like rotten cottage cheese and fish tacos that tasted like peanut butter. Even the Mac n cheese was bad .. like how?? If it’s too hard to get real cheese, just give us Kraft and call it a day!! Anything!! (By the way I did not/ do not have Covid lol) it’s just plain weird how bad the food was. The drinks were also disappointing. My dream of drinking margaritas by the pool while gazing out at the ocean were quickly dashed because the margarita tasted like cough medicine. Stick to beer & shots. Overall- a fine experience, but I would not recommend it to anyone, I’m sure there are other resorts just as beautiful with better food and drinks so I’ll keep looking for that.

BEWARE. The poor reviews are spot on, and this place is a nightmare. The rooms are indeed damp & humid, which may account for the black mold we found growing on the ceiling. Bugs in the bed at night bit us up and down our legs, and I suspect BEDBUGS among them. Blood and what looked like fecal matter was on the curtain, and the water in the bath smelled strongly of chemicals. The food presentation was the only good thing, but once we tried to actually eat, it was tasteless slop. The restaurants all had pre-made food that you could tell was sitting for hours. The sushi rolls were so dried the rice fell out like pellets. The seared tuna was ice cold, and looked like it had been sitting for hours. Room service was just as bad - all the food is in seran wrap, pre made and just sitting for goodness knows how long. It was like airplane food, but with less taste. The pools are crowded, and you are given two towel allotments for the day. Really!? The service is slow, and the whole atmosphere feels like a poorly run cruise ship on land. AVOID this place or please read the bad reviews and believe them.

Food made me sick more than once. Went in two minutes after the buffet closed and got kicked out. Outlets in room don’t work at all, and there are only a couple regardless. Rain shower doesn’t work, just the detachable hose. Room service was nice and the bartender Angel at the pool was fabulous. The restaurant’s were just not quality food. Even the sit down restaurants. Drinks didn’t taste much alcohol in them. Definitely not as good as I had hoped for my first all inclusive. Some towels had stains and the sheets did as well. Won’t give you any masks, but they’re required in the buffet. Sucks.

Absolutely the worst experience! Our A/C did not work 4 out of the 6 days we stayed there. Our trip was in July so the room was really hot and we didn't get much sleep due to that. This was communicated with management, in which each day they would tell us it would be resolved by end of day. On the 4th day, our phone line was blocked because I called each day asking for an update. Staff was rude and not helpful. They refused to switch our rooms or find any way to accommodate us. What was meant to be a relaxing vacation turned out to be a total nightmare. If you can avoid this place, I would recommend you find another hotel with the same price but better service and a full functioning hotel where basic amenities are met. I tried contacting them and no one has returned my calls or emailed me back.

The room had a nice view and the staff were friendly. The room in building 7 was dated and smelled musty. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. The pillows were flat and lumpy. To get into the shower you had to take a really high step up and the tub was slippery (so be careful getting in and out). The food was not warm unless it just came off the grill and didn't have much taste. The safe only worked part of the time. The elevator door closed quickly even while holding the open button, it would close on you even if you were half way in.

I don’t post reviews often but I never been this disappointed at a resort that calls themselves 5 stars. This is a 3 star resort at best. Bed is so uncomfortable but did have a nice view. They have a thin sheet as a comfortable. Room really is really run down. The team that does transportation from hotel to airport was so rude. Food is subpar. Got sick once. Please don’t stay here

The palace is a very beautiful resort right on the water! The food is very good, lots of options for dinner and all of them are great! The bar service is mediocre but the customer service is terrible. While we stayed, we talked to countless individuals who had personal items stolen from inside their safes including passports, ID, money, credit cards, computers. Their management did absolutely nothing for any of these people. They never once got an apology or recognition, in fact they questioned their guests about their stolen items. It is clearly a staff member stealing these things and the management supports them! Stealing someone’s passport/ID can be a lifelong detriment; this was not taken nearly as serious as it should have been. We are paying a lot of money to stay at a 5 star resort and there is no safety. On our last day, we went back to our room to find our hotel room door wide open and our balcony door (which was dead bolted) wide open. We will never stay again which is disappointing because it’s a very nice resort.

So here are my reasons for a 2-star review.. Some food is overcooked (no big deal), but what I really noticed was you have to check the food you get due to the fact of it being undercooked or has spoiled. Went to the "Italian" restaurant and got the ravioli with lobster tail. The lobster was rotten and smelt like the worst cheese you could ever imagine. I actually had to get up and throw it in the garbage cause it smelt so bad.. our party of 4 all got food poisoning and / or a stomach bug from this resort. I have been to Mexico 9 times, and this is the first time ever having such a terrible experience at a resort. We weren't the only people either. There was a total of 15 people that all got food poisoning. This is not a 5 star resort it's a total 3.5 stars. The rooms had a very strong musty/ moldy smell to them that stuck to absolutely everything we took with us. All in all, I will never come back here, and I will go to a much better resort.

Worst all inclusive resort I have stayed at. Someone with a key came into our room & also open the safe & took money from my husband’s wallet. We found out when our key card wouldn’t even alert the keypad. Make a written claim & had management go in our room with some sort of machine to see who accessed our room. We’ve been back for a week & still no answers. Food was not good. The only place that we liked was the Japanese & Italian restaurant. You can’t go eat at any of the other hotel restaurants as we were told. You can only go eat at the buffet not the sit down restaurants. Alcohol is watered down. The thing we did enjoy was the amazing pool & the hotel entertainment. All workers are great except the older man that worked the Pepe’s food stand by the pool. However they had the best food. The Hamburger there are good. They also had good tacos on Saturday morning. The best buffet was Mar de Cortes. If you’re older or have problems walking this is not the hotel for you. Everything is spread out & they have tons of stairs. So it’s definitely not wheelchair friendly. The rooms are nice. We had a great view of the ocean. Workers at the towel house are not very friendly or helpful. We had our maid take our pool towels & they didn’t want to help & gave my mom the mangers name on a sticky pad to go look for him/her. My brother was not having that & told them they need to go get their manager since there was more then one worker. The lady resort supervisor that came to speak with us was full of excuses. I ask if it was because we are Mexican American & spoke Spanish to their staff. Because we we only spoke English, they were much nicer. I all this to say I wouldn’t stay here again. I have traveled across the states & other countries besides Mexico & this is definitely not a place I would spend my money again.

The staff is super nice and helpful! The location is absolutely gorgeous and the resort itself is a beautiful open style design. We had no problems getting anything done. The food was good, I wasn't coming in expecting Michelin star food, some dishes are definitely better than others, but I think everyone can find something they like.

Review is based on a pool visit here and not a actual stay. Grounds - Very high end looking resorts especially the pool area. Pools are very nice and kept up, decent seating area, and good location for restaurant areas outside. Staff - Everyone seemed very whatevers and not to happy to be at work and keeping it very casual. If asked for something they would help. Crowd - This place is definitely an older crowd that just wants to go to a quiet place and keep it chill. Pretty chill but not to my liking. Overall it looks It looks very nice, but too quiet for me.

Girls trip! What a fantastic stay. Visited during a hurricane and pandemic. Felt pretty covid safe, plenty of activities, fresh tacos, fries and Don Julio Blanco at the pool. Easy walk to the Market at the other building. Buffet was meh, but we survived our stay. Nightly entertainment. Party at the pool next door. Would go back.

Rooms are garbage so much noisy. May be from washroom side or may be broken fan or something. Specifically 3142 and 3141 Told to the reception area so many times but no one bothered.Location is ok but no I won’t recommend 👎🏻. The room service is pathetic and whenever we called for order and every time they refused that they don’t have that item. And last time we went to other resort and provided everything in the rooms.👎🏻

Although the presentation was beautiful the customer service was horrible. In addition to that, the food was not good and the 24/7 service was not that at all. The room service was cold sandwiches and when you called they acted as if you were a bother. The remote didn’t work so we had to get a new one, the air conditioner was either cold or hot no in between and a Milky Way and change came up missing from our room which was so petty to us. You literally had to leave to get a good meal. The one stand out was the Neon Party at the Santa Fe, it was pretty fun and high energy. Overall I give it a 2, we will NOT be retuning.

We had an excellent time here for a week. The ground were immaculate, the amenities are perfect and the food was typical resort fare with lots of choices for every meal. We would return here without question for another week of vacation.

All inclusive , here for a wedding. Staff are super friendly. Very family safe and fun. Buffet has loads of fresh fruit and options for children. evening Restaurants provide highchairs and excellent three/four course meals 😋 easy to access town for shopping, only bummer is you cannot swim in front of the hotel because of strong current /under toe

The food gets old pretty quick, after day 3 we were over all the food there and explored downtown for some better food. The dinners are pretty good but you want variety when your paying these prices and breakfast and lunch are the same buffet style/quality food every day. They're transportation services did a terrible job for us, they made the mistake of booking our departure transport at 6am instead of 6pm and when we went to ask the "transportation services" company they said there was nothing they could do.. This alone ended up costing us 80$ for airport transport through uber.. A service that is included with your stay and should have not cost us anything.

Food is okay. Same as any all inclusive. Staff is really good for the most part. My main complaint is my things were stolen out of my room. I was warned by a friend who was robbed here earlier this year but I didn’t think my clothes would be stolen. I don’t know how to fit my entire suitcase into the safe but apparently you need to. The hotel doesn’t do anything about it other than offering a new housekeeper. I recommend if you stay here to not use housekeeping at all. I feel like they assume you have money if you are here and it’s not a big deal to have your things taken. Here on a budget and I can’t afford to replace my items. Use lots of caution with your things. In fact just leave your things at home. You’ll have the same experience.

Warning..Staff stole our cell phone from bar second night we were there and management did nothing about it or prevent from happening to others. We were at the bar off the lobby with all of our friends and left as they were closing for the night. We started walking to our room and noticed I did not have my phone and went back to the table where we were sitting. All was cleaned up and phone was gone. Went to front desk as we assumed it would just be dropped off. No phone at front desk. My wife had her phone so we looked on the location and at that time nothing. We checked again about 2 am and there it was in a house about 20 min away. We text the phone to bring back to lobby in morning and took many screenshots of the location. Next morning went to front desk asked if a phone was "found" and no phone. Told front desk what happened and asked for manager. The HR manager was called and told her the story and showed her and staff the screenshot of where the house was that our phone was at. We asked them to look up if one of the staff members that worked at closing the night before lived at that location. Management did nothing. Advised best not to go to that house and find the phone(duh). We told them are you not concerned you have a bad staff member stealing from your patrons? We had 22 ppl in our group celebrating a 50th birthday and they all of course are uneasy now with security. The best HR manager would do is offer to help us if we wanted to have a police report written but in house they would do nothing. We had already wasted our time with management and half the day trying to make sure the phone was deactivate etc. Did not want to waste anymore time. Management never contacted us the rest of the vacation to check in nothing! So sad that a bad apple tainted the experience. We did have some very nice happy staff. Josue at pool bar was excellent and fun personality. The food was not great. Mostly bland. We ordered a chicken Cesar salad from room service and we got towels delivered instead. Our room did have a musty smell that lingered like a wet kitchen towel. The views were beautiful and when I checked in we were given the room upgrade that I requested if available on line. Buyer Beware that you are NOT is a secure safe place and management will not care about you.

Rooms are nice and clean, but nothing special. The balconies are quite small but good for 2 people. Service was mostly fantastic except for the odd server who didn't seem to remember we were there. We went to the steakhouse twice. The first time we were really rushed through and felt pressured to order the next course before we were ready. The second time was much more relaxed. The hotel was very nice but the weather was very hot and humid for November and there aren't a lot of inside, air-conditioned spaces to relax outside of our room and a couple of restaurants. Lastly, as the hotel is mostly open-air, you can hear music and partying from other areas quite easily (for example, while in the lobby bar listening to the pianist or violinist, we could easily hear the wedding music and party sounds from the celebration on the beach or pool area below. )

We had great service and were very relieved after reading many prior reviews that there were no hidden costs. Everything was upfront. We did not pay extra for WiFi, a wristband or extra uplifts for certain dinners. I’m not sure why the people that wrote those reviews stated that. As far as thievery, there is a safe in each room so if people got things stolen they weren’t using the amenities provided to keep your belongings safe. In all we really enjoyed the whole experience.

Was here for a week prior to memorial day. Beautiful resort with great accomodations. Food was good and drinks were plentiful. We did not have any negative experiences during our stay. If you are considering the Riu Palace for your vacation, just book it.

We went to the Riu Palace for our friends’ wedding in November 2023. Overall, the hotel is great! They have one pool set up to be loud, with fun music playing throughout the day and another set up to be quieter and more chill so you can choose your vibe. The entertainment was great, staff were phenomenal, and the hotel was beautiful. The food was better than the average all inclusive, and we loved that we could go to the restaurants whenever we wanted! The AC in the rooms wasn’t great, and we found the rooms were generally quite musty and all our clothes felt moist from humidity. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel especially if a swimmable beach isn’t that important to you

Have tried a few different hotels in Cabo and this place does have some beneficial things going for it, the rooms are nice and the pool parties were cool, but over all was a less than acceptable experience. The customer service experience was awful and nothing is properly explained on how the restaurants or any events work (information in app in unhelpful) so you spend the first couple of days trying to ask other guests to try and figure everything out because the staff will be no help in this. Once you are able to figure out how the restaurants work you will find hot dogs and cheeseburgers that in a nice way to say it are very bad. The waiting staff was very rude and angry, upon sitting down especially outside to see the view the waitresses were not helping anyone and more focused on getting people out then bringing anything to anyone and would be angry when you would get up and ask them for water. The food in the restaurants was bad and they were always out of something. We found ourselves eating out in town most meals. If you're looking for a good all inclusive with good drinks and food, look elsewhere. If you do not care about these things and want to party and spend time in the city then this is an ok room to stay in.

Ate at the steak house (Guacamole) our first night (yesterday 3/29/2022) and ordered two filet mignons; but received some low par steaks. Idk if they ran out but we just ate a few bites then left. We saw people eating steaks that looked like real filet mignons, but ours definitely were not. Also, We were hoping to upgrade to upgrade to ocean front at check in but was told there was none available only to find out that there was a couple who checked in after us that were able to upgrade to ocean front. Very disappointed.

One star because zero stars isn't an option. Weather was phenomenal and the guy calling taxis was very helpful, that is the end of the positive reviews. Not even sure where to start but food was terrible, the best thing I could find was grapefruit for breakfast. Actually lost weight staying here so I guess that's a positive? Left the resort and ate locally for my meal of the day 5 times. Drinks were okay? Requested "topshelf" alcohol but most of the time bartenders would just put their house option in. Gave up on that hassle and just drank can beer out of my room until I decided to buy a bottle from the local liquor store. Friendliest employee was the guy calling for taxis, most others acted as if you were bothering them. Would not recommend this resort to anyone.

Everything that you could want/need on vacation is included at this resort. Gorgeous ocean views, beautiful rooms with balconies and modern bathrooms (including a rain shower), wide selection of food and drinks and professional hard working and courteous staff. You have access to all three properties and if you really wanted could spend your entire day at a property other than the one you’re staying : eating, enjoying the pool and night time shows and then just return to your original hotel to sleep. There is an option to go to a Vegas like pool party during the day or night 4 times a week called the RiuParty. You feel welcome comfortable and relaxed. Would recommend to anyone

We were nervous about staying here based on some of the reviews we read, but we honestly had a great time. The staff was excellent and there is always a seat by the pool for you. We only ate at the buffet every day and it had enough variety for us. I think this is a nice vacation location and would recommend it, it’s just not a *five star* hotel. Our room was fine, the communal locations are where this hotel shines, like the lobby, lobby bar that looks out at the oceans, etc.

We stayed at this resort for 7 nights. Our stay at this resort was very relaxing and pleasant. The service we received throughout every single day was above and beyond. I would have given the room a 5 star with the exception of wishing the room was cooler and that we had cold water in the shower. One day all we had was boiling hot water from the shower, called the front desk at 4:30am and they sent someone up to check it out immediately. Had to move us to another room. Other than this our trip was excellent and will be back again next year. Thank you.

Very clean place the staff was always cleaning. Service was good to. Every employee we had interactions with super respectful, some even remembered us. Pools always clean. Close to down town. Our room was clean, huge shower. Beautiful view! Definitely will be coming back! First time here

Room had a great view. Staff was very friendly. Buffet has a large variety and the food was of higher quality than a typical buffet. Restaurants are also very good. Krystal was the best. Enjoyed our stay.

I had a great stay here. Staff are amazing, they work very hard. I highly recommend this resort. The prices are very fair for what you get. To make the most use of it i recommend attending as many activities and entertainment shows. It was my second time staying at this resort in 10 years lots has changed but still great customer service. I will be back!

Not the way to ring in turning 40. After my Egypt trip was cancelled, we decided to give Cabo a try last minute. Keep in mind we booked the most expensive room category here. After getting to our room we immediately noticed a huge crack in the door where anything could crawl in or someone peek in. Even worse, use it to enter the room. There we other problems throughout the room which made us think it wasn't supposed to be rented. We were switched to a another room (this one maintained much better) It actually had a cleaning card to show the room was cleaned, the bar was stocked (unlike the last room) and they brought my birthday cake (really good). Now it took about 3 hours to get this room so we ate lunch. Buffet was average but had a bug in my drink. After finally getting into the new room, we went to dinner and put a request in for a lightbulb in the closet plus the AC. We came back to all the requests completed but the room was still hot. We put another request in and got a call to change to another room. Instead of letting us know they couldn't fix it, they just marked it complete(more time wasted). The room they had switched to the TV was broke and just as hot as the room we were in plus on the lowest floor. We stayed in the hot room for the night and in morning moved to another room. This room stayed at 75 degrees.

A fun all inclusive experience. Food quality was great for the price. Amazing service. Beautiful room with a hot tub and a shower. Very spacious room and on the silent side of the building. We could rest without any problem. Fun games and activities. Amazing concert with arpa instrument. The hotel had a party ambience, but good when you can choose to either party or rest.

Rooms are lovely. Room service carts are so noisy, hard to sleep through neighbours getting their deliveries. No proper blackout curtains in the room so if you're light sensitive you'll not sleep past sunrise. Housekeeping services are excellent, but the restocking of the mini bar did not happen as promised and it was only after multiple complaints that they came around - other rooms/guests had the same issue. Front lobby staff are lovely, check in and check out smooth as butter. Restaurants have good food, but to get the really great meals always get what waitstaff recommend. The only meals that weren't up to standard was the salmon - both times overcooked and dry. At the fusion restaurant Krystal it was saved by the hollandaise sauce but at the Japanese, there was no saving it. There's no swimming in the ocean here. Couple of strong swimmers tried and gave up. Even walking in the surf can be dangerous so keep a close eye on the waves if you attempt it. Definitely not a child safe activity. There are safe beaches you can get a ride to. Lots of beautiful views and opportunities for photos.

Really good experience at this hotel! The service is amazing (you will never be without a drink in your hand) and the hotel itself is beautiful, especially the views. It's really well designed, as you have a view of the ocean from most of the restaurants/bars. I've seen some reviews that complained about the food, but I personally thought it was good. There was one night where the buffet wasn't that great, but the rest of the time it was good. I wouldn't say the Italian restaurant is anything special, but we still had great meals at all of the restaurants, especially the Japanese one (wow!!). Only negatives were that they never filled the bar fridges in our rooms, and I wouldn't say the entertainment is anything special. I've definitely seen better at other resorts, but we still enjoyed most of the shows. Parties are great though!!

The hotel was amazing, located in perfect view of the Arc from the infinity pool. The service was really great. We went for my wife Birthday and they made her feel special, specially the way the decorated our bed on check in. The food was really good, anything you wanted to eat, there was always something available to eat or drink somewhere. I would definately recommend as a must visit. They had great shows every night, and different event every day in the pool area.

I can't wait to go back! The staff are amazing, humble, cheerful, willing to help in any way they can. Rooms were spotless, hotel kept sparkling clean. Food was excellent. Especially pepe's tacos. Access to other resorts was made easy and fun. Night life is great fun for any crowd.

Stayed at the Riu Baja California - overall experience was decent. Food was a disaster, most meat grossly overcooked, and we had to go into town for decent food. Be prepared to pay Vegas prices in town with exception of Happy Endings, and El Tequiero, local pubs (very fair pricing and good food ). Pool area at Riu had two types of music playing through the speakers at the same time which was not pleasant. Bar pool was closed several days. Looking down on the three pools from our room, you could definitely see a big colour difference in the water. The bar and exercise pools were much lighter in colour, you can imagine why. Have been to Mexico 10 times mainly because of the excellent food, sadly, Riu was not a reason to return. Room was nice and clean. Have been to many true 5 stars, this is definitely not that.

This place is beautiful. There were several reviews complaining about the food. I personally thought the food was great other than it needed a better variety. The people were nice to us. They were very helpful. The reason for the 4 star is because we didn't know the Santa Fe was shut down and we went over for the water park and they security person sent us to the adults only then when we tried to return they made us go threw the beach and we didn't have the proper clothes or shoes on for that. So that wasn't a good thing.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Plenty of pools to choose from, resort is beachside, lots of great dining options and the service was pretty impeccable all the way around.

I got no sleep in this hotel. The walls are paper thin and our room was directly over the laundry service or kitchen.. I was awake all night long with the room beside our partying until 5am. The staff were great but this is not the place to get some relaxation. I probably would have liked it more if I was 21.

Stayed here during "Big Cabo Fest" and loved it. The staff was so nice. Raul, our waiter was the best of the best. The place was super clean! The pools were nice and there was always enough room to lay out. The front desk was super helpful and kind.

First time visiting Mexico and chose Cabo to celebrate mine and my son's birthdays. No issues with transportation to the hotel or check in. Stayed in a Jr suite with a garden view but the location of our room on the property still allowed for a view of the ocean. We are in day 3 of our 5 day vacation and have had a few minor issues with the room but nothing that couldn't happen elsewhere. The property is beautiful and the staff has not been rude as indicated by other reviewers. The food has not been the best but we have a few more restaurants to try. The Riu Parties have been a lot of fun. So far a great place to vacation.

Had a great time! The rooms were very clean and the common areas. The staff was continously cleaning throughout my stay and also very friendly. The hotel has different events for people to attend depending on you preference. The hotel is all inclusive, the food and drinks were okay. If you come in June make sure to bring a light jacket or blanket at night. Since the hotel sits next to the Pacific Ocean it gets a little chilly.

Honestly not as good as I was expecting. First time to Cabo, and this was just not the quality of what I'm used to in Cancun. Rooms are fine, but the quality of the food was average. Entertainment was bad. It was people lip syncing on stage. I'd never go back.

They did a very good job, clean and fun. All the staff except our maid appeared to love their job and really were fun. We had a few follow through issues and had to ask fro things 2 and 3 times. However, We enjoyed our time very much.
