Our experience could not have been worse, I cannot believe this place is still open to the public. We went today with a group of 15, we asked if one of us could check it out before paying but they said this was not possible and we needed to pay first... so we all decided to pay and go in. Usually termal pools have multiple pools for you to try different ones. This place only has 3 tiny tiny COLD pools, one for adults, one for kids and one for ‘babies’... there are signs that state temps 38 degrees, however temps were maybe 25-28 degrees. All 3 pools are very, very small, man made, above ground level and not clean at all. None of us felt comfortable enough to try the only adult pool and we decided to leave. Of course we didn’t get a refund even though we were there for less than 10 mins.

If you are stopping here after a hike for a rest and a warm bath then great. It is a good little stop. If you are planning a special trip for it don’t... you may be disappointed. The place is small offering very basic facilities. Water is 38°C but feels cooler in the pools. 3 smallish pools of different heights plus one for feet only. We arrived around 14:30 in a Sunday afternoon and it was still busy I can imagine it can get pretty crowded. Mud of two types is offered (face only) but you can buy more if you want more. Signs say “ don’t stay more than 45 mins in the pool “ but we were and no one said a thing. We welcomed the rest but cannot say we fully enjoyed it

Super fun! I think maybe 7 bucks to get in but make sure to check out the 2 "giant cups" on property. The visit will be what you make it, it's not the Palms Resort but it's fun for the money and the people are very kind.

The perfect place to relax, rest, disconnect from everyday life. The water is not hot - just warm. But enough to be relieved. There are only two swimming pools and a foot soak bath. Everyone also gets a small mud container for a skin treatment. It's worth it!

This place is NOT GOOD for kids, they charge $5 per kid for absolutely nothing and they want kids to stay steel and completely quiet while having the audacity of charging their entrance fee. Their employees are extremely rude and unprofessional, there is no customer service whatsoever.

The forest surroundings are very relaxing and beautiful. The mud was fun (included). The pools were small, old, and only luke warm. The minerals gave a brown tint when we were there.

We had to wait a bit to enter the wells. Very full. Clean facilities and friendly guides.

During weekends it gets busy, however, waiting times to use the pools are no longer 30 to 40 minutes. Upon arrival they give you detailed instructions on the use of the facilities and pools. The facilities could be in better condition, or provide better maintenance.

Avoid at all costs. Unless you are fond of lukewarm water brimming with pipe rust. In that case, make sure to also ask for the mud bath, so they can give you a ketchup cup with some mud to spread on your face

They are open! It is $7 for adults. I wish they had mud pools, but they do give you enough to put on your face!

Terrible place and a complete waste of money. The place is a dump. The pools are not warm, despite what they say, and too small. It’s like sitting in a normal temperature, cloudy pool. If you pay, there’s no getting your money back. We went in, didn’t like what we saw, and tested the temperature and found them too cold so we asked for our money back. No way. Once they’ve got it, it’s gone even if you don’t like it and don’t use it. Stay away! You’re wasting your money.

It's a very rustic and basic place. It's smaller than you think. Perhaps my tastes are a bit fancier. The foot thermal spring is cold water, which is refreshing, I suppose, but not thermal. The water is murky in all the pools. The staff are very nice and friendly however.

It's tranquil and the staff members are pleasant. However, the water isn't as warm as I would have liked but it was still nice. I really enjoyed the tuning fork massage.

Small and water not very hot… too bad

  • 1/5 Rachel B. 7 months ago on Google • 11 reviews
NO HOT WATER. We were dooped. It's not worth it. The water is tap water temperature. And the place looks run down. Mildew is growing everywhere. There are tons of leaves that need to be raked. Walked in and walked out without ever taking a dip or using the mud mask. The people in charge need to use the money they collect and clean up the place. The railings of the bridge are broken, and color is chipping. It's a great idea, but poorly executed. $24 for three people to just walk in and walk out. Very disappointed. Two thumbs down.

nice place; bit rustic, but in a lovely environment. you get a mud/face mask; and after shower there are 2/3 pools with thermal heated water ( average to warm).

Malisimo has claustuphobic and expensive stores like rooms, dirty pools and lack of staff. They must study hospitality, very expensive for what they provide.

  • 5/5 Brian S. 4 years ago on Google
For the price, you can't beat it. Free mud facials and warm pools. Don't expect Terry cloth robes and cucumber water. This is a rustic, beautiful little hot springs that is great after a hike or just a lazy afternoon. Bring your own towels!

A nice way to end a day of hiking and exploring el valle. The place is small but worth a trip. As noted by many people this is not a luxury spa type location so set your expectations accordingly. The pool itself was nice but not extremely warm. It was roomy enough to walk around in and have your shoulders submersed. Enjoy!

This is a one hour visit for natural thermal bath (45 minutes max) and volcanic mud face mask (about 15 min). There is a small area with private huts and benches where you can experience the humid primary forest, all this at the crater of an extinct mega volcano.

  • 5/5 Martin L. 1 year ago on Google
I offer a mixed opinion of the thermal pools being reviewed. On one hand, I describe the location as the perfect place to relax and disconnect from everyday life, while also noting that the water temperature is just warm enough to be relieving. I also praise the staff and the provision of mud for skin treatment. However, I also mention that there are only two thermal pools and one foot soak bath available, which may be limiting for some visitors. Additionally, I warn that those who are planning a special trip may be disappointed by the basic facilities on offer. I also note that the water temperature feels cooler than expected. Overall, my review suggests that the thermal pools may be a good option for those seeking a quick rest and warm bath after a hike, but may not be suitable for those seeking an extravagant or luxurious spa experience. Visitors should be aware of the limited facilities and relatively low water temperature.

I wish we would have more time. This was part of a tour we did with nexus. But it was well worth it. Got mud to put on my face. Then wash up and dip in a spring water to relax. Great tour.

Don’t get sucked in! The pretty pictures they show at the gate are nothing like inside. They are brochure lies. The pools are very small. One is basically a bathtub size. The “thermal” water are not warm. Imagine going into a dirty looking, lukewarm pool that’s slightly larger than a bathtub and you’ll get the idea of what this place is like. And if you pay and decide it’s not what you wanted, forget about getting your money back even if you did nothing other than look around. They only want to scam you for your money. Avoid this place. $7 per person may not seem like a lot. You couldn’t pay me to back there.
