What a delight it was to stay at The View on Highway 20 in Elizabeth, IL It is a quaint motel that supplies all your needs and the price is very reasonable. We were also close to all attractions in Galena. The View is run by a charming couple who only wish to please. I highly recommend staying there.

What a Wonderful Gem on 20! My 75-year-old dad and I were visiting with family for an evening. They highly recommend The View Motel, said it was a run by Andy & his wife. And it was the best place to stay near at their home, in Hanover. You cannot book online, Andy wants to speak with you personally and he wants to know what your real name is, not the name of your credit card and likes to know the names of everyone in your party. He provided very easy confirmation numbers, who actually remembers their 10 digit confirmation number? We arrived the next day, he was waiting for us along with his wife. He gave us the instructions on how to use the TV remote, and to work the HVAC. And then offered us complementary water, soda, and/or wine. We were greeted with a Special greeting upon entering our rooms, hence why he want to know everyone’s name in our party. The bed was comfortable, the room temperature was great, & plenty of fluffy towels. There was a TV and a Keurig machine in each of our rooms and they had a community room with a refrigerator and microwave as well as literature for things to do around town. I was concerned with being right off the highway, but I slept like a baby! We will be back and hope to get to relax on the patio behind the motel with the amazing view of the valley!

My husband and I were going to camp in the area, but as a huge rainstorm was forecasted, we found The View, and lucky for us, they had a room available. Andy and Joyce were charming and great hosts. Andy recommended some routes to take for a scenic drive and good restaurants around town. The room was clean and comfortable and we felt right at home there. We will definitely return!

Andy and his wife were absolutely amazing! He made my birthday a little more special by writing it on the outside of the room window and a little decorations inside. We were greeted with a scrumptious glass of white wine. The actually view from the motel is also glorious. Everything about the motel was amazing. My husband and I will definitely be returning.

Andy and his wife made our stay so great. They are down home folks who make everything at their place like home away from home. Any requests were met with a smile. Had a great time sitting around the front and passing the time chatting. This was our first time in the area and our stay here will bring us back. First time in area, came for my Birthday weekend to explore Galena. Andy and Joyce made us feel like home right away. Room was decorated with a birthday greeting along with fresh cut flowers and a bottle of wine. Loved the small town feel of staying at The View! Definitely would come back!
