It was thirty years ago my wife and I first discovered Gaylords in San Francisco and would eat there when we visited the city. This was one of our first experiences of eating Indian food and we loved it. We ate there so often they got to know us and fortunately on one such time there the owners daughter was getting married. We were invited to the upper floor to behold the wedding party. The wedding garments they wore were so full of color and beautiful I quickly realized why there food was so delicious. Our last twenty-three years in California we spent in Hanford California where there is a very large Sikh population and we soon were eating their great Indian food . We ate at Asoka in Selma, the Brahma Bull in Fresno, and the Clay Oven there. One of our favorites was also Gateway to India in Anaheim California. When we moved to Kentucky we soon started looking at and eating at the many Indian restaurants in our area. There are some great ones close by and we even explored ones in Tennessee that we loved. The one we have declared our home favorite is Namaste in Elizabethtown Kentucky.. This restaurant serves some of the very best Indian food we've ever eaten. I can highly recommend it . If you live there or close by and like Indian food then I would encourage you to give them a try. If your passing by then you would do well to stop in for dinner. If your up in Bardstown doing the bourbon tour then complete your visit with a trip here for dinner, its only a half hour from Bardstown. If you like Indian food this restaurant will not disappoint. It really is a little gem nestled in a wonderful small town.

Namaste? More like "nah, i'm going to stay" for more. Very chill atmosphere, restaurant dining environment with storeshelfs full of different Indian items for purchase. The food was perfectly done and full of delicious spices, meats and vegetables. Had good portion sizes and the bread alone is worth the visit. Definitely a place to come eat if you're in the mood for some Indian dining.

Very, very good food! Hubby had Tandoori chicken; I had the buttered chicken. The garlic Naan is phenomenal! Both dishes were well prepared, deliciously flavorful, and priced just right. Love the serving bowls!

My new favorite food is the namaste soup. It’s so good. I’ve been twice in one week just for the soup!!! The rest of the food my family ordered was divine. The wait staff doesn’t seem to speak English super well, and there’s some social awkwardness there. But overall, very friendly. I also plan on shopping there. Lots of good products and amazing spices, etc.

The portions are big and we are happy they let us decide how spicy we want our foods to be. Ate the leftovers for dinner. Yummy

Nice North Indian food!! Tried Onion kulcha and chicken korma!! So tasty!! Masala tea was the best part! Reminded me of road side dhaba chai in India!

I've been eating here for about 10 years now, and I have NEVER had a bad meal here! The staff are some of my closest friends. I used to work here, and I would eat the food every day. I never got tired of eating Indian Cuisine for every meal! This is the tastiest and healthiest food you can find in Elizabethtown at a reasonable price! I highly recommend the Lamb dishes, Vegetarian dishes, or the Tandoori Chicken with some delicious Naan Bread!

Very nice atmosphere and customer service, I was greeted promptly when entering. Being my first time they offered their popular dishes and ensured I didn't get my plate too spicy, but I knew what I wanted. The portion looked small but it was enough for dinner and lunch the next day. They have a niiiiice selection of spices in the store area too! I'll definitely be back as the food was delicious 😋

I have been here a few times and I’ve only tried the Namaste Curry with chicken and a side of the Garlic Naan. We always have leftovers. The food is very delicious. If you don’t like spicy get mild and if you like spicy get mild. If you like the spice that makes your nose run and flares up your sinuses then get spicy. The spicy is for real spicy.

I ordered the Namaste Curry (chicken) and told them to make it super super super spicy and to "pretend like I'm from India"... boy did they deliver. I always ask for the hottest curry available, this is the first time the bell has been rang. 10/10 Flavor, 12/10 heat!

It was a very delicious experience. The owner was very friendly and the service was super quick. We ordered samosas to start with. They lacked a bit of salt but were well compensated with the mint and tamarind chutney. For the main course we had mutter paneer, namaste chicken curry and garlic naan. The entrees were accompanied with rice. The quantity was good and we had asked it to be made Indian hot which tasted yum. The garlic naan was crispy, buttery and delicious. The mutter paneer and namaste chicken were heavenly. We just couldn't have enough of those fabulous dishes. For the dessert we had mango lassi which was a cherry on top. A perfect meal on labor day. Glad we checked it out. Connoisseurs of good food must visit!

This place is really good I’ve ordered many dishes and usually go in groups of 6+ and they are still pretty quick and the food is always good . It’s surprising to get good food and good service in a big group but as of yet they haven’t let me down

Food was good and portions adequate. Our drinks were not refilled until they sat empty on the edge of our table. Waiter never came by to check on us spent his time talking to a fellow coworker or friend. For the price of the food you expect better service. The restroom doubles as a grocery store. Bottom line, probably a better grocery than restaurant. No plans to return

Second time there today & it just seems to be getting better & better. Service is great & food is delicious 🤤 good portions. I had the mango smoothie drink for dessert, highly recommend it. This place is amazing! Can’t wait to go back.

You'll be hard pressed to find another Indian place this good in our region! Granted, we don't have many around here, but this one is very good! Staff is good and the atmosphere is decent. Nothing fancy just a good restaurant atmosphere with a large selection of Indian items to purchase, along the walls. There is always Indian music playing on one TV and 24/7 Kabaddi on the other. (Kabaddi is basically a version of a game of tag mixed with Olympic wrestling played on a field.) Prices are a little high but in line with everything else these days. 2 of us just ate for a total of $60. We had the crab cakes appetizer (highly recommended), 2 plain Naan breads, shrimp Tikka Masala, a salad with chicken, and 1 soda. After tax was $54 and I tipped $6. To be fully transparent, I do know the owner. Not super close but we're friends. He's a great man and very prominent member of the Indian Community in Central Kentucky. The food is authentic. The staff are all Indian and I can't imagine the food would be different in India. They are still regular visitors to India and the ingredients are all imported. Even the tea is Indian. It is good but wasn't for me today. You can buy it from their store.

Edit: This part of the review is not recent. We always love going to Namaste. The food is great, and they always try to accommodate. This time we tried a new appetizer: the lasooni gobi. We were SO pleasantly surprised. The sauce was simple (I could taste the ketchup), but they had flavored it enough it didn't seem cheap and I didn't mind. I usually get the murgh Chettinad but decided to go with the tandoori chicken. I just did medium spice but could have went with spicy. I ended up with (essentially) two leg quarters and an extra leg. This came out on a sizzling plate of onions (think typical middle of the country "Mexican" restaurant fajitas). The chicken had a great flavor and was cooked just right. I should have asked for some mint chutney which would have really set off the flavors. My wife went with the chicken curry (mildly spiced). She loved it and had plenty to bring home for lunch the next day. I could see the TV over the cash register which had a kabbadi match between India and Pakistan (the outdoor type). I just wish I understood the rules of the game. 😄

Hands down the best Indian restaurant I have tried. The service and greetings are one of a kind and such nice genuine people. The culture inside is great and a very welcoming environment. If your looking for some of the best food you can try then namaste is your go to. I was surprised how addicting it was lol I’ve went one time and now I’m there every week or every other week. They definitely have a unique taste to their food. Always has been a Grade A experience.
