I’ve never liked the coffee at governors in Ellsworth.. and I love coffee with my breakfast! . Today my friend Staci encouraged me to try the coffee. She said we changed it’s! I’m now on my 2nd cup and can sit here and drink it for the next two hours! Well OK that’s a little overkill but I am so happy to finally be able to drink coffee at governors and it’s absolutely delicious. I have no idea what kind it is and I’m not even going to ask! All I know is it was delicious! Thanks governors for changing your coffee and making it better tasting in my opinion! Those of you that like the governors coffee before it is so much better.. Your staff it’s so kind and sweet and sincere… the service is always great and the food is really good (thanks Chefs) Thank you from one satisfied customer!

Loved this! We had to stop here for a family dinner 😊 Our host was so sweet and complimented me a bunch!! 💛 The quesadilla was so good! Thank you for the family friendly service! Tastes homemade like grandmas cooking 🫶🏼🩷☺️

We stopped in for dessert and what a fantastic decision that was! The Nightmare was simply decadent and the carrot cake was amazing! Service was really good once we got seated which took a bit longer than it probably should have but everyone was friendly so it was all good. I can promise we’ll be back!

The service at this location was quick, and considerate. We had Michelle as our server this AM. She was quite helpful and knowledgeable in assisting my wife, choose a gluten free meal. The food came out, and it was good! I had some apprehension art first, as the silver dollar pancakes came out and 'felt' a bit tough. But the whipped butter, and the real maple syrup, made them great! The scrambled eggs were perfect. It really tased like I made them myself. Maybe they have my recipe . . .

We went yesterday for a Bridal Shower..the food was delicious, their cake..top notch baking skills!! The servers were so friendly (even with the delay in getting our forks haha) and the atmosphere was great! 5 stars!

It's consistent and inexpensive. The service is always quick, and the servers really excel at taking care of guests. The food is ok, it's your typical greasy spoon diner. I usually order the New York Style Reuben Sandwich. It always comes out hot. It just isn't really different from any other I've had, and to some people that's not a bad thing. Governor's Restaurant serves patrons quick, familiar fare at a low price point. The real draw is the baked goods. They make very good cakes, cookies, rolls, and pies.

We visited this restaurant for my father's 73rd Birthday. Timmy our waiter was really friendly and helpful. The food (generally ) was really good. We stopped by for lunch, and Dad chose the clam chowder for starters (which he stated was delicious) and the lobster roll for main. Mum was a little disappointed with her chicken pot pie, saying it was a little bit tasteless, but ate it all anyway. I had the maple fried chicken was really nice. There are lots of things to choose from on the menu, so there should be something for everyone. There is also a fine selection of cakes to choose from, and the choc/peanut butter one was awesome. We were all really surprised when Timmy brough over some ice cream with a candle in it as a birthday treat (a nice touch). Overall this place gave us a cozy atmosphere with very friendly service. I would recommend everyone to visit at least once. We are going back for breakfast later in the week.

Just your standard breakfast chain type of restaurant. Took a very long time to get our food. Breakfast was OK, but blend and blah. There is a much better brkfst place on Ellsworth main street

I was looking for a place to have breakfast on our way back home, and we stopped here. I choose it because of the bakery you can't go wrong with places that bake their own goods. And they weren't disappointed, we had the banana bread french toast Soooo good I had to ask if they had a loaf to take home, and they did, not fresh frozen which it was ok with me. The only problem was that the coffee was very weak and didn't even taste like coffee, other than that fully recommended.

I like to get take out. I was happy with the chicken pot pie and ordered it several times. Then things went downhill. The first thing was that the piece of chicken pot pie was a pile of moosh, not a slice of pie. The next two times the size had shrunk significantly and the crust was burnt. Sometimes they forget to include a roll. To jclay: after speaking with the team a week ago, I received an acceptable chicken pot pie take out order. I would like to see consistent quality on a regular basis moving forward.
