It was packed! The majority of customers were Indians: a great sign when the cuisine is Indian 😊 The place was packed! However the service was fast (enough) and caring. I tried for the very first time the signature dish: the Chicken Cari Dosa, with a spicy sauce. Loved it ❤️ Will be back!!

Our dinner at Masala Dosa restaurant was a true delight, with incredibly tasty food that satisfied our taste buds. What made the evening even more memorable was the unexpected visit from Swiss National MP Liste Nr. 7 Herr Nik Gugger, who dropped by after his October 22. 2023 election campaign. Spending time with him was a wonderful experience, and we were pleasantly surprised by his simplicity. Not only was Herr Nik Gugger's visit a highlight, but the restaurant's service team also deserves applause for their excellent service. They took great care of us and ensured everyone's needs were met. Moreover, the restaurant's authentic Chettinadu cuisine left us craving for more. We're truly grateful for such a fantastic dining experience at Masala Dosa restaurant, where great food, exceptional service, and the presence of Herr Nik Gugger made it an unforgettable evening.

Well, I’m a big fan of idli and not easy to fine restaurants serving idly. So was happy to know we have one in Oerlikon. Well, I could eat 6/7 idly of normal size but when I ordered sambar idly it was mini idly which almost disappeared in the sambar. Oh but the sambar was lovely! But the idly was just not enough! 😅 See the picture and good luck in finding those idly 🤣 Btw tap water CHF3 and the good thing is they put that on the menu so you’ll not get surprised 😅 Dosa was good! But just as the other reviewers mentioned, the chutneys were a little too watery 🤷🏽‍♀️ Anyway overall good taste but idly was very tiny 😅

If you're a fan of authentic and flavorful Indian cuisine, Restaurant Masal Dosa in Zurich is a must-visit. Their Chettinad Mutton curry is an absolute delight, and the inviting atmosphere makes it a perfect spot to enjoy a memorable dining experience. I'll definitely be returning to explore more of their delectable menu when I am back in Zurich next.

Authentic South Indian dishes are served here. The service is also amazing. The staff are very nice and cordial. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant. I go there with my family most of the time I am in Zürich. So far, our favorite has been their Masala Dosa. The side dishes are also mouthwatering.

Best place for south indian dish lovers. Taste is too good and authentic, sufficient quantity. Have to wait abit (overall 20min waiting) for ordering and then getting food on table. Simple nice ambience with food served on plastic banana leaf to give you that south indian feeling.

I’ll have to go at LEAST a second time and try more from their menu. Unfortunately I only managed to try a Dosa, wonderful crisp yet very light with a tasty potato filling accompanied with the 4 sauces. All of them very tasty when combined on the Dosa. The mutton curry with very deep flavours, the meat soft and soaks up the spices. The green bean coconut salad and the palak take some of the chilli punch out 😅, although the Kingfisher beers helped as well with that. The service was attentive and the owner dedicated and super friendly. A good sign for its authenticity - there were a lot of locals enjoying the food and drinks. You’ll see me soon again!

Found this place while traveling in train to Zurich so decided to have lunch there. The area where it is , is not that appealing but the food the service and atmosphere was great. It is a small family run business with authentic South Indian cuisine. As we went just on a whim we did not have reservation. Still they accommodated us and we soon found out by first fifteen minutes why reservation was recommended. They were filled completely by lunch time and not just by Indian population but by Swiss population. So just think how amazing their food would be.

Such a great place, funny, helpful and very kind staff, food was so delicious and I just had an amazing experience. Will definitely come back :)

A new gem place for South Indian food in Zürich. We have been to Basel and other places in and near Zürich for South Indian cuisine. This one is simply simple and outstanding!!! The owners themselves run the place and are very courteous. The food is fresh and reasonably priced unlike other restaurants in Zürich. Loved it!!!!

I wasn't sure what to expect. The restaurant doesn't seem too nice from the outside but the food is AMAZING!🤩 The restaurant is simple but the food is very complex and delicious. I will definitely come back again to try other dishes.
