Firm mattress. Firm pillows. The bed was made of only 2 sheets and 1 thermal blanket so I was pretty cold all night. You can hear all the traffic from the road. The man at the front window was a really rude to an older women in front of me however the young lady who replaced him was a little more professional. The rooms were clean. The lock was broken. Most likely will not stay here again. .

The Staff / Front desk lady was very nice.. however the facility is much worse than what they post.. I feel like I’ve been catfished coming to this dilapidated property.. from the horrible asphalt.. the rooms, the bathroom and the odor!! Wow .. no smoking??!! Doubt it, seemed like there was a tenant that smoked and lived in that room.. underneath the bed was full or dust and pills and other trash from previous guest.. the bathroom, well I might as well go to a truck stop bathroom because it’s about the same .. the exhaust fan was nasty AF, the bathtub was falling apart.. the faucet only seem to have one setting for temperature, which is HOT AF! the AC is horrible.. this is definitely not a 3.5 Star.. more like 1.5 STAR. The only reason I grade it at 2 because they don’t have .5 star.. and that’s because of the wonderful staff.. but the rooms and property is Nasty AF!!

Our room smelled like smoke , their was a wet spot on the carpet, their was water in the tub, the tv remote didn’t work. There was no working fire alarm in the room. I brought it to the front desks attention and because I used the restroom and my son pulled down the blankets (to get in bed) but never got in . I wasn’t fully refunded . The area was sketchy, hotel didn’t look like it did on the website, false advertising on their behalf.

We were able to check in effortlessly, and the location is prime! An easy walk to any convenience store or grocery store as well as fast food across the street. The rooms were kinda small and the parking lot is not well lit at night, but other than that it’s a decent spot.

One of the worst stays I've had in a hotel. The only thing I need from a place like this is a decent mattress, and this one felt like I was sleeping on a piece of plywood. I woke up feeling sore and bruised. On top of that, there was paint peeling off the walls in the bathroom, a wall lamp was falling off its mount, a table lamp had a short and only worked if the cord was propped at a specific angle, and the microwave display was so bright it illuminated the entire room. I tried to block it with a hand towel, but the towels are so thin that even folding it into fourths didn't do much. I stayed in Airbnbs on other legs of my trip that were the same price as this place and they were all well-maintained, comfortable, and clean; some of them were even hosted in hotels! I guess I learned my lesson. For positives, the shower was very clean and the staff were pleasant when I checked in and out.

Absolutely the worst stay ever. Staff was rude, room smelled like pee, no breakfast, no hot water or heater in the room uncomfortable beds. no hot tub. I know what you’re thinking, it’s probably not that bad and it’s cheap. Honestly paying a dollar to stay here would be too much. I’m not sure what the working staff actually does but they don’t clean the room. I saw all the reviews before booking and just ignored them. It really is as bad as everyone says (or worse)

My room got canceled on a holiday weekend 4th of July, I booked with reward points and was told it was canceled for my credit card being declined. No credit card on file, booked with points. No room, 500 miles away from home on a holiday weekend. Would give me a room for$217. Double the normal rate.

Over $110 per night you get a very small motel room with a queen size bed. The Days Inn is not on the beach, there is about 10 to 15 minutes walk to the city’s Moonlight beach. But overall it is conveniently located, close freeway and a shopping center. Our three nights stay were very uneventful.

My wife and I feel blessed to have found this motel. We have been coming in once a week. I'm undergoing some health treatment, and this location is very close to the clinic. Rest is very important for my treatment, therefore being able to get a good night sleep prior to my medical appointments makes a big difference. The rooms are decent, clean on a very safe and peaceful area. The staff are very polite and helpful. Being that we're on tight financial budget, the room rates have been very affordable. There are minor things that could improve but nothing that would make me deter us from future stays.

Great location close to Moonlight Beach and really accommodating staff, but unfortunately the room I stayed in had a bed bug infestation. Front desk staff said they had a similar issue earlier this year. They offered to move me to another room, but I chose to move to another hotel nearby instead after washing and sanitizing all my belongings. Really not a great way to start a vacation but I appreciate their willingness to refund my stay. Keep an eye out and check your mattress if you choose to stay here!

I can't complain much given the price point. The rooms are very decently priced for the location and I'm happy to say that sleeping on the back side of the hotel was also reasonably quiet. The rooms however are only moderately clean and minimally supplied. We had to request and additional towel (only two towels were in the room for 3 people) and toilet paper as there was only 1/3 of a roll for our two night stay. The plumbing is a concern, but if you are careful everything works. The walls between rooms are also quite thin. That said, we knew it wouldn't be anything special and if your goal is to spend time on the beach and have a place to stay that allows you an easy walk to a grocery store and downtown Encinitas then, this location is great. We were really only sleeping and changing clothes in our room and in that sense we felt good about our choice.

It was nice to visit Encinitas and be relatively close to the beach. The bedding was clean and the beds okay and the room was resonably clean. Unfortunately our refrigerator didn't stay cool so we could not keep any food or drinks in there, the bathroom tub was draining very slowly so you had to stand in water while you took a shower, our TV had a damaged screen so it was difficult to watch TV. Our stay at the hotel was okay, but not great. The best thing was that it was close to the beach and restaurants.

My stay was average. The light on the table did not work. The T.V. did not function properly. The bed was adequate for sleeping. It would have helped if the bed a blanket. The shower, the sink, and toilet all worked properly. I would only add that Days Inn may want to consider a refresh of this property to make it more attractive to all of it's traveling guests.

I Love this place! They could stop the breakfast and just lower the prices, or offer a better breakfast with organics or just fresh fruit and vegetables? I walked to the beach in about 15 minutes one day. Me and my daughter enjoyed the snack bar at the moonlight beach I think it is called. I got the Sonoran dog and she had the childrens egg sandwich. The value is worth the money.

The room was filthy. No other rooms were available. Things kept breaking. Even the small refrigerator fell out of the weak cabinet that it was in. We tried to get the leaky bath faucet fixed as the leak was so bad it was like the faucet was turned on. The only thing they did to it was tightened the faucet. It still leaked. The room also stunk. Smelled like an old folks dilapidated home. The sheets even stink like they had not been cleaned in months. The carpet was filthy and worn out. It had holes wit nails sticking up. Gross.

Older property that needs some love. Carpet was so dirty that I had black residue from it on my feet. TV had moderate damage to the LCD. This is more of a road side motel that is about 1/4 mile from the ocean. Needless to say it's in a fantastic location. They doubled the room rate over new years but it wasn't worth the extra money. An accurate price point may have warranted an extra star (realistic expectations are a big thing). I could see it as a solid 3-4 star property if someone cleaned it up and gave it some maintenance and a deep cleaning.

We found the room clean, beds (2 queens) comfortable, we slept well, loved the dark curtains so we slept a little longer. The only complaint was one cockroach on the wall, which I dispatched with my shoe. I left the body on wall so housekeeping would see it. I did tell manager when I left and he was concerned. Other than that, I’d stay again. Great price, near where I needed to be, and beds were so comfortable! I liked the prepared breakfast bags with yogurt, juice, pastry, granola bar. All properly packaged and chilled.

this place was probably one of my top three most hotels or motels in our life. The rooms are small. very dated. they were also under construction which the desk person did not tell us so we had to walk around the entire building to get to our room on the second floor even though it was right around the corner from the other day. breakfast was a joke it was some kind of bag thing which we didn't bother to even take. The floor was broken up The toilet scared us into thinking we were going to have a spillage because it came up to the top before it even went down. it's right off interstate 5 if far enough away not to hear the traffic sounds. never again.

Pros: Very comfortable bed with pillows that far exceed most motels' Cons: Room was a bit musty, almost as if someone had been smoking in there. Room a tad dirty. TV had no remote, which seems important for using the appliance. A/C was pretty weak and did not cool the room.

Stayed here for 5 days, Great value Great location When I asked room service to quickly run the vacum over our carpet halfway through our stay getting a “yes/si” would have been nice and having them pick up our trash and soils towels would have been a plus as well. Probably would even have earned them a tip! However I did like that they gave me fresh towels. Front desk was very friendly and accommodating. Rooms were great. Overall I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone passing through!

This is the perfect hotel for a weekend getaway in S.D. The downtown area on Main Street is a best kept secret and the stores across the street offers everything you need if you don’t feel like venturing out. There are some minor fixes that need to be done.o

It was one night that I doubt I’ll be coming back unless there are no choice. When I booked this it said there’s full breakfast, they fail to say that it’s only a brown bag grab and go! Uugghh! The room was not bad they try to make it look clean. I’m assuming they are under construction and upgrade. And wet paint on the corridors… also be careful the certain pastries bag are open … I didn’t think it was worth the amount that I paid for a room in the middle of the weekday! I doubt I’ll be coming back …

Most if all because I love the town of Encinitas! Also by staying at the Day’s Inn I was very close to Moonlight Beach and the natural foods market - Lazy Acres across the street. My hotel room was quiet and received morning sun, and the staff was helpful supplying me with what I needed. I stayed on the third floor toward the back facing the hills with trees. I hope to return when I can.

Old style furniture but clean and sturdy. Carpet kind of iffy but bearable to walk on. Francesca's very very nice. Very nice printer he really made me feel like I was wanted there. Housekeeping very polite very quick and clean like I said, clean. Crystal comfortable feeling when you walk in the room. Not very much I can say it was just cozy that's about it that's the best way to describe the room I liked it a lot though for the way it was I liked it.
