8/13/22 update. (1) You never responded directly to me via email or phone about all these issues, except only for me to find this inadequate google response. (2) you did not address the poor quality of service by personnel at the front desk and you use the excuse of staffing shortages. So you hire rude incompetent people, is that your solution? (3) And my dog was having an allergic reaction, possibly anaphylaxis and you want me to find a reputable veterinary emergency room in close vicinity? Pathetic response. 8/6/22 update. My new dog was stung by a bee today and when I called to see if I could bring him in to be seen on an emergency basis for possible allergic reaction and especially since the dog is already an established patient, I was told they had no openings and that this practice does NOT provide emergency care. ITS TIME FOR ME TO FIND A NEW VET!!!!!! 8 years I've been using this vet practice. Not anymore! 8/4/22 update. No response received from practice manager. Vet services are very expensive and they require payment in full at the time services are rendered. If staff can't be professional and courteous, then I will take my business elsewhere. 7/27/22: Recent Front desk staff turnover. Front desk personnel disorganized and ignored people approaching and standing at the desk to be checked in. One individual extremely rude and provided misinformation. When confronted about her attitude, she became even more indignant. Unprofessional and discourteous, poor representation of vet practice. Dr Glawe and his vet tech Selene are professional and provide high quality veterinary services. Front desk is the portal to access veterinary care and front.desk personnel should not be making medical decisions that they are not qualified to make. This has been escalated to the hospital practice manager and response remains pending at this time.

I was recommended here, because my friend’s dog goes there for vet care. My 3.5 month old rescue puppy got slapped in the face by the veterinarian. I don’t think this is typical veterinarian behavior after talking to friends about the scenario where puppy was growling then the vet reached for her and nipped the vet, where a slapped occurred. The technician prior to the veterinarian visit, took my puppy vitals including ear temperature fine with a treat and did not slap my puppy.

Dr. Monica Watterud and Dr. Riley have been the absolute best. Dr. Watterud I previously worked with and i admired how she connects with each pet. She points out things not all doctors look for. She does full exams and is very thorough in what she’s doing. She is very welcoming and knowledgeable. I recently had to take my Luna to get 2 mass removals done, her surgical doctor was Dr. Riley. Never have I ever had a surgical doctor call me before surgery, after and the next day. The communication couldn’t of been better. She explains everything in detail. You can tell she truly cares for your pet.

I'm so glad we found Dr. Lauria and Hampden Family Pet Hospital. From our initial visit with Dr. Lauria, she was incredibly friendly and determined to figure out why our German Shepherd was having so many gastrointestinal issues. After a few tests, she quickly figured it out and our girl has been in great shape ever since. It feels very reassuring to have found a veterinarian that we and our pets love.

Hampden Family has been my regular vet for my two fur babies since November 2022, and I could not be happier with them. Everyone is so welcoming and kind, appointments are so easy and accessible to book, and the vets have been so considerate and caring in their treatment of my pups. Always helping me figure out where I can save money, while still getting the best care. It feels like they genuinely care, and they're very human in their approach. That means everything to me. Don't hesitate, this is definitely the vet you want!

One word- disappointed. We have been coming to Hampden for 4 years and always had a great experience. However, our dog needed urgent attention and the soonest we could get an appointment was more than a week out. A few suggestions- teach receptionists more empathy and understanding. Our pets are family and when they are in pain and need to see someone, the first response shouldn’t be “can’t, won’t, or go to the VRCC.” Offer to take down information for a possible cancellation. Go talk to a vet tech to provide input as to whether or not this is a true VRCC emergency. Secondly, add a small daily block into vets schedule for urgent matters or walk ins. This could prevent the only resolution of “we can see you in a week” or “go to the VRCC.” Unfortunately we won’t be sticking around to see if some of these suggestions will be implemented as we’ve already sought out another vet who comes with high regards and can fit us in within 24 hours due to the urgent matter. I hope this constructive criticism is taken into consideration for all of the remaining patients and their pets.

HFPH came as a recommendation from a neighbor for my dog’s TPLO procedure back in May. If one pet parent took as much time and care in selecting Dr. Glawe for their dog, I knew I needed to check HFPH out. From the moment of the consultation, Dr. Glawe and his team were kind, sweet, warm, and welcoming. Surgery is scary but Dr. Glawe took great care of my boy. Their price was reasonable and it included everything, which was appreciated. You can tell he really cared about Walt. We followed Dr. Glawe’s post-op instructions closely, which I knew he appreciated. Thanks to him, Walter is back to playing with his sister and going on full walks. If you need a TPLO for your pup, please check out Dr. Glawe!

Not the same since Dr Abbey retired. We’ve been going here for over 13 years and sadly the culture of the office has changed drastically. Vet turn over is really high, there’s not a single vet on staff who’s been with the company for more than year. All the vets we’ve seen were good, but when my dog got sick last year, it felt horribly impersonal. We were pushed from vet to vet, practically starting over at each visit since there was no history. I had to advocate hard just to see the same vet and with my pup’s health concerns, it was a horrible experience. Ultimately he was diagnosed with a terminal disease and we chose to move to a home hospice care for more personal and compassionate support. Those working there are good people, their surgeons are very competent, and I would recommend them in an emergency situation or for specialized treatments. But not as a primary care provider. The issue is at a higher admin level, if you can’t keep staff, something is broken. It’s also important to add they are now part of the Petco umbrella with the move to Thrive Pet Healthcare. I’m not sure how this will effect them going forward. Basically, if you’re looking for a small office feel where you will see the same vets regularly, this is no longer that kind of practice, but if your primary care vet recommends this office for specialty services, they will take care your pet. After over a decade with HFPH, I’ve now moved to another practice wanting the personalized care they no longer provide.

I went in today to get my dogs Bordetella vaccine. While I was there, I was told Dr Monica is no longer with the practice (she's been seeing my dogs for over 20 years). When I went to pay, their I found out their fees have doubled! They definitely should have let people know ahead of time that their provider was no longer there! The front staff & vet tech I spoke to were friendly, but I did not recognize anyone.

This practice was bought by Thrive and all my original vets have left. However, I have found all the present vets and techs I've seen to be caring and knowledgeable. Would recommend them to anyone who loves their furry family members.

All of the veterinarians were extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. I was very worried when I arrived and was very reieved when I left. They treated my dog perfectly and the treatment was exactly what he required!

We've been visiting Hampden Family Pet Hospital for the past three years and have had nothing but good experiences! We first took our rambunctious boy there for his checkup and vaccinations and have been taking him there ever since. All of the staff are always super nice, the vets are kind and knowledgeable, making appointments is easy, and we never have to wait long (or usually at all) once we're there. FOR FOLKS WITH SHY KITTIES - Dr. Leonard is amazing!!!! We recently adopted a semi-feral kitty who is VERY shy. Squeak was living outside of our house and we've been working over the last year to befriend and socialize her. We had to move house and decided to bring her with us and were unsure of the process since she had only ever been an outside kitty and was terrified of anyone who wasn't us. Hampden Vet worked with us to provide a mild sedative ahead of time so that we could bring Squeak in and make it as low stress on her as possible. Dr. Leonard (their resident cat expert!) is very calm, gentle, and was great at handling Squeak despite her not even wanting to come out of the carrier. They even gave her some numbing cream since she had to get quite a few shots. You can tell Dr. Leonard has tons of experience handling shy kitties and really cares. We've since gone back for a sick visit and this one went even more smoothly. The vet tech (didn't get her name but she was great!) was very thorough and organized all of our concerns ahead of the doc getting in there. Dr. Leonard was able to examine Squeak in the room and then get blood and urine samples in the back. She followed up with the results and left a nice voicemail and email which I appreciated. Definitely recommend Hampden Family Pet Hospital to all kitty owners!

Use to be a wonderful place for pets care. Now corporate owned and all the good vets left. I switched my fur babies to a new clinic and SO much happier! Do not recommend for anyone to go here.

Simply the best vet in Denver. Fairly priced, well staffed, smart veterinarians. I have had only good experiences here. I’m very fortunate to have this place in my back pocket

I've been taking my puppo and kitten here ever since I got them, and every single experience with Hampden Family Pet Hospital has been amazing. Every single team member is professional and knowledgeable, and it feels like they really care. My dog recently had a tooth extraction and Dr. Spadaro called daily for a few days post-op to check on him and make sure he was recovering well. You get what you pay for, and I believe this place provides the best.

Love this place! I always leave here feeling like my dog is getting the best possible care. They’re thorough, informative, gentle and kind. They even worked with the separar emergency vet and neurologists that went to after my dog was hit by a car to obtain all informations, X-rays, and records in order to provide the best care for my baby. Can’t recommend enough!

Safe, gentle staff and a calm atmosphere. I feel like all of our concerns were heard and our dog was in very capable, knowledgeable hands. I’m glad to have found this practice!

I love this vet. Great care maybe a little pricey but they do such quality work it's worth it. HOWEVER, LOOK AT YOUR INVOICE. They charged me for a rabies vax that I clearly said no to. They took it off, it took about 5 days to refund and they didn't actually give my cat the vax so no real harm no fowl. They're humans they make mistakes. Just check your invoice-$95 isn't a small charge.

All of the staff are extremely friendly and great at communicating what is happening and going to happen next. From check-in/out, tech care, vet care and the pharmacists, I always feel like they are doing the best for my pets needs. They go above and beyond to make the visit as comfortable as possible. Dr. Skinner has been amazing and contacts me via phone and text to answer all my questions and allow me to make appropriate decisions for my dogs care. Highly recommend Hampden Family Pet Hospital!

Dr.Nelson was wonderful! Unfortunately my 2 year old Cat Otis had to spend 24 hours in the hospital for monitoring and IV fluids for a fever. Dr. Nelson called daily with updates and gave different options for diagnostic testing. She was kind, considerate and sympathetic as it was so hard to see my cat go through this. Highly recommend! Otis is home now and doing so much better! Thank you Dr. Nelson!

We have been taking our little Baxter to Hampden Family Pet Hospital for about a year now after friends of ours recommended them. The staff here are really nice and professional. We typically don't have to wait very long for any appointments. They are also very thorough with the appointments and treatment plans. Great with follow ups and the Vet herself will text with updates after bloodwork and etc. I love that they love my pup as much as I do and you can tell they care. Thank you Hampden Family Pet Hospital!!

I can't say enough about this place. It's clean, the staff is personable and our Dr. Spadaro was wonderful with our recently adopted dog. She made great recommendations and was great in getting to know her patient and making her feel comfortable. Her suggestions for us have been great and we look forward to working with her again. Thank you Dr. Spadaro, for making us and Bella feel welcome and well taken care of

My family has been taking all of our pets here since I was a little kid, so naturally I chose to take my boxer Forrest here. We just had to put him down this past Saturday, which was extremely difficult for my husband, daughter and I. The staff, especially Dr. Begin, were so supportive and great in helping us through that process and letting us take our time with him. Over his 8 years they took such good care of all of his different types of needs and helped us figure out so many things! Great withs cheduling, rx's, questions and advice etc. As our hearts heal we hope to bring a new family member here again because we know that they will be well taken care of and loved as if they were their own.

My pets have always gotten the BEST care at Hampden Family Pet Hospital. Let's just say I'm one of those CRAZY pet owners who make most people roll their eyes. Hampden Family Pet indulges my craziness and has always treated my pets as if they were their own. Dr. Monica is my usual vet and she really is the nicest person on the planet and I can't tell you how many times she has gone WAY above and beyond to help my dogs. If I could clone her, I would. She's too modest to take credit for how AMAZING she is, but SHE IS. THANK YOU, Dr. Monica! I also have to call out Dr. Etheridge, who saved my dog's life last year. (Ya, no small thing, eh?) Ruby had Tick Paralysis (I hadn't ever heard of it), and without Dr. Etheridge, I don't think Ruby would be around. This past weekend, I saw Dr. Riley and she was so caring and gave Ruby the absolute best care - Ruby was really sick and Dr. Riley remained calm, figured out what was wrong with Ruby and got her back on the right track. It really is true that this practice will treat both you and your pet like family.
