The lighting of the beacon on the Green at Theydon Bois, Essex on Thursday 2nd June, in celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. There was a very good turn out and a good time was had by all. At the end of the event we all sang the National Anthem - fortissimo!

First visit to Theydon Bois my bike and really liked it. The Green was a lovely place for a stop over as it was well looked after and peaceful.

Lovely walk around the green and surrounding areas. As the ground is very wet is nice to walk or run round the green on the path . Plus a pound where children fed the ducks .

This is a very special place to me, but it has no facilities of its own, so for the purposes of visitors looking for parks, may not be first choice. There are shops and pubs next to it, and a lovely new playpark across the road from the duck pond. However, parking can be tricky on weekdays. It used to be no parking between certain hours, so you need to pay attention. It's also within walking distance of Epping Forest, where you might lose signal (in case you were hoping to use Google maps).

Mini kids fair today was lovely.. £10 entry for kids but you can go on all the rides. Games areas are extra & food and drink you have to pay for but the kids love it..!!!

Great place just to chill out by the lake watching the birds and fish if your into fishing. This lake still has a close season for fishing but during the season it is free to fish as long as you have a rod licence. Carp, tench , Rudd, perch and one grass carp.

The Green at Theydon Bois is a lovely place to sit and enjoy the sunshine. There is the pond that can be fished and ducks visit along with a large area to soy on and a children's playground just over the road. You are an easy walk to the Tesco Express, Bakery and other shops for drinks and lunch. The only reason it is not 5 Stars is because the Council closed the public toilets.

Peaceful and quaint village pond. Where ducks are in a row while the geese looks on. Bird food can be bought from the local dry cleaners. Also seen dads and sons doing bit of fun fishing when the weather is good.

Theydon Green is a charming village with a lot to offer. The picturesque countryside setting is perfect for peaceful walks and enjoying the beauty of nature. The friendly community here is welcoming, and you'll find a strong sense of camaraderie. The local amenities, such as the cosy pub and quaint shops, add to the village's charm. It's an ideal place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and savour the tranquillity of rural England. I highly recommend a visit here for a taste of quintessential village life.
