For my fellow Americans looking to try it out: It's a great local indoor water park. Don't let the language barrier stop you, as it is a great place to wear your kids out. It's probably best for kids up to around 14. Here's the process: -An all day family pass for two adults and all your kids (yes, all of them) is around 22€ -You get these tokens. They are "tagged" to your account, so don't lose them! -You'll go through the turnstile one at a time. Wait for the light to turn green as it "logs you in", then take the token and go through. -Head downstairs. There is over big coed locker room, but with closed small changing rooms you pass through to the actual lockers. There is a side room with hair dryers by the stairs as well. Bathroom/shower areas are separated (Damen=Women, Herren=Men) after the lockers. -Available lockers have the arm bands attached to the front. Stick a token in and turn the dial. Load the locker and take the arm band with you. It has your token in it and can be used to buy food cash/card free, so lock those up. The arm band opens the locker again. Only one person needs the arm band, so don't take up a bunch of lockers. -There are three areas: spa/sauna, lap pool, and water park. Only the sauna/spa needs you to scan your arm band in, because (I think) it's a separate cost. Everywhere else is open to go to. The lap pool has a blow up obstacle course and a shallower pool for general swimming/playing. Yes, bring your pool floaties if you want. -The water park has a bunch of rotating features: wave pool, jets, bubbles, waterfalls, and whirlpool. There are a bunch of nooks to discover and explore. There is even an swim out to an outdoor pool. The water is heated, so it's actually pretty refreshing. -There are two slides. The entrance is to the bottom right as you face the water park area inside. The tube slide is with or without tube. You can just grab one from the pile at the bottom. The top "blackout" slide is not for tubes. Wait for the green light to start on the blackout slide, but go as fast as you want on the tube slide. Recommended age is 6, but no height required or staff manning the slides, so use your discretion. You can go down doubles, triples, whatever. -For food, order and just place your token or arm band on the metal box to add it to your tab. Only eat in the food area. It seemed like you could bring in some of your own food, but I didn't see any rules. -Need the bathroom? Look for "WC" which stands for water closet. That's the bathroom. -At the end, go in reverse order: lockers, changing rooms, then upstairs to turn in your tokens. If you didn't buy any food, just put them in the turnstiles to leave. To pay for food, go to the desk first. They'll scan them, you'll pay, they'll give the tokens back, and then you go out through the turnstiles. Last advice: It can get crowded. Try to avoid peak times for max fun. Enjoy!

This review covers the sauna, not the water park. And I have no photos, of course. Mobile devices are not allowed in the sauna area, so we typically leave our phones in the locked car on their chargers and use this time to unwind and disconnect. There are several saunas available for folks to enjoy within the main building and there are three larger saunas outside in the garden along with a connected indoor/outdoor pool. There are hosted sauna events outside every thirty/sixty minutes where sauna specialists will fan the warm air and various aroma therapies for those inside. Do take advantage of these shows. They are very refreshing and, by definition, therapeutic. If you are new to the German sauna experience, do some research before going. Clothing is not allowed, but you will need a towel, shower shoes, and a robe. These are also available to rent if you do not wish to bring your own. But leave insecurities behind and simply enjoy the culture of freedom that Germans have enjoyed for centuries. The sauna is a beautiful, healing place and Monte Mare is a standard-bearer in the industry. The staff are always pleasant, the facilities are clean, and the restaurant/bar have many options from which to choose. Two thumbs up for Monte Mare!

Today was our first time going, we will be back again. It was clean, great for all ages, there is so much to do it does not get boring fast. We could have stayed all day. The slides were a total blast. Highly recommend.

Loved every single second of my visit here. As an American, I was very comfortable with the nude sauna here. Everyone was in their own vibe amd just enjoying the amenities of the establishment. The hot saunas were THEE absolute best I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. I will definitely recommend and will be a life long member.

**editing my review. As much as I had a lovely time, I started some type of fungal/bacterial infection on my foot from the spa. So just be aware. My husband and I went yesterday to the sauna and wellness section. He made reservations for massages prior and booked everything online. It was our first time at Monte Mare, my second time at a European spa, so I had a rough idea of how they operate. I will say that the website gives absolutely no information for first time visitors, on what to bring, or how anything is. He did pay in advance to rent the robes and towels. I do agree with other reviews with how some maintenance and grounds up keeping does need attended to, but otherwise it was a lovely experience and not too crowded for a Saturday afternoon. I cannot give any reviews towards the family and children side, only the wellness spa side. As for anyone new to European spas - everyone is naked! I love that aspect, very judge free zone, no one feels uncomfortable, everyone was very nice. I’ll also add that as an American currently living in Germany, I never expect places to have English in addition to German, but with not being allowed to use your phone in that area and everything in German, I can’t use google translate and don’t want to feel like an inconvenience asking what everything things mean (I am learning, slowly). Tips: - Save money and bring your own towels, robes (if you want), and sandals for walking around. You take off your sandals going into pools and saunas. -You can bring your own bag into the area (I saw quite a few of them), and bring some water or snacks to also save some money. My husband bought the ticket that had free cups of water and coffee. - Absolutely definitely try to book a massage. We booked the “ChillOut” 60 minute massage (it was included in the ticket price he booked) and it was AMAZING! 10/10 recommend. We both had great experiences with our ladies. -They give you a token when you check in. Don’t do what we did and share a locker at first because everyone needs their own locker to give you a bracelet (when putting in your chip), and that’s how you get through the gates, pay for things, etc. And then you use it to check out as well. My husband had to go back to get our second token to make a second bracelet to get through the one gate before entering the spa area. Like I stated, overall 4/5 experience. We’ll probably be back again before we leave, but will also try other spas in the area as well. I personally liked my first one better.

Great! They dropped a bit on their decorum, especially the garden - fewer flowers, etc., but on the HUGE plus side they've finally fixed the 12°C dipping pool!

My wife and I went and got relaxation massages. They were fantastic. Both masseuses spoke English. Jenny, my masseuse was great. Would definitely go again and try the other types. Only reason it's not five stars, it was a little confusing on what we needed to bring/not bring and where to go once we got there. If you're going for just the massage take some flip flops or slides to wear once you go in. Obviously if you're going for the spa and swimming you will need towels and bathing suits, but it was unclear when we made the reservation if we needed to bring a change of clothes because the massage place is located on the spa side.

I really want to like this place more, and as a rule try to only write positive reviews but my overall experience here tells me this place is likely mismanaged from the top down. On the family side, the building is not being maintained well, the water quality is questionable, generally smells unclean and made my entire family itch. The staff seems undertrained, overwhelmed, inattentive is some crucial safety spots and understaffed in others. Although the entry price is reasonable for a family the food quality was poor, overpriced and came out at really random intervals. My kids like it here and the slides are fun but that would be the only reason I would return.

Worst experience ever. Small and over crowded place. Totally customer unfriendly, understaffed reception. Don't waste your money here.

Wonderful facility with beautiful features and staff that is so pleasant and accommodating. Colleen is an exceptional massage therapist. This place has the very best atmosphere. I always leave relaxed. Also the recreational pool is well kept and great for families.

I've noticed that they have stepped up their maintenance and I really appreciate this. Also the people working there now are wonderful and very concerned about the customer enjoyment of the sauna experience. Aufguss schedule is now fully available online again and more easily accessible ☺️

The pool could be a little warmer and it is expensive for what you get.

super comfortable and beautiful. I think there is a need for more variety in the cafeteria menu, and more variety in the music that is played (latino music)

The swimming pool itself is ok. At least the kid had fun. But it's strongly recommend not to buy meals there. It can take 1.5 hrs from queuing to finally getting what you ordered - most likely average fast food craps.

Schönes Schwimmbad, für alle was dabei.

We didn't visit the spa side. It's a nice place in general, but we picked the wrong day because it was absolutely packed! It's also a bit like a maze and takes a while to get places. Lastly, for how many people were in there, the pools didn't seem big enough to accommodate everyone.

Good indoor pool for lapswim. But sometimes often theres practice going on so… 50/50, you have to go in early to avoid crowds. For kids… sometimes the kids pool is not warm… depends on the season. Been in and out of this place for 6+ years. It gets the job done for entertaining kids. But timing is key. also maybe they need to add more slides? Anyways, dont lose that circle token! you need that for locker to and get out of the place… or you have to pay extra… as usual….

Lol employees get mad if you take a picture. So you can't bring your phone inside. I was just taking a picture to put in here for my reviews. Only 1 slides. There is small outside pool that is okay. And a small lazy river pool. Try to go on weekdays so less people. On the weekends it is full like you almost bump into each other kinda thing 🤣 it's not good. Don't have space to swim.!

Cool place to take your family in Kaiserslautern. Prices are very fair for a family pass. Inside concessions are reasonably priced too. There’s large pools for adults, a sports pool, slides for all ages, and a kids pool. The maze of changing rooms and bathrooms can be confusing, but it’s not unmanageable. Keep up with your plastic tokens! These are key to be able to buy stuff at the concession stand.

Nice Location with lot of parking areas. Many school students really enjoy this pool 🏊‍♀️

This thermal pool is compact but multifarious, and gives you a friendly and cozy atmosphere. During my visit beginning of May 2022, some features were unfortunately not in operation, for which, I found no information on the website. Prices are higher than expected, especially during weekends. The reason could be that there is no concurrent in the surrounding. Anyway, I give this pool three stars, but with some improvement, they would deserve four stars.
