You can't go wrong with a Spoons. And in the summer sun, with outdoor seating and big doors open, then this one is great. Bargain beers and low cost food .

I visited the Assembly Rooms in Epsom last night (31st January 2022) and as I went to the bar with my step-father I was asked to show ID. I never a problem showing my proof of age, however on this occasion the bar tender inspected it for about 2 or 3 minutes and reluctantly handed it back. (It's an official UK provisional driving license, and in date). Around 15 minutes later the same staff member came to our table and said "I've been sent round to check everyone's I.D - I can't remember if I checked yours already..."; which I informed him he did however if he needs he can see it again. He took it, tried to flash a torch on it then said the torch wasn't working so he took it out of my sight, presumably behind the bar? He gave it back after FIVE MINUTES and said it "was fine". I'm extremely uncomfortable with the fact he also didn't check anybody else so he was singling me out for some reason, and then taking my ID away from me. I don't understand the situation at all, and I'm 27 years old, have been in many establishments where this has NEVER happened and considering I was with parents and eating a meal it was incredibly unnecessary. I'd love an explanation for this!

I had the greatest English breakfast experience there with my friends. The service we received was nice. And loved the endless coffee and hot chocolate.

Good place , good atmosphere, a lot of seats. Customer service is ok when not too busy... Steaks club on Tuesday is always off not available , missing from menus also Currys club on Thursday not always available. Pizza not available ... Few things like others weathespoon offer they don't have it available, apart from that not a problem at all.

Quite a grand pub with high ceilings. Nice looking bar, slightly raised which gives it a quite separate feel. I saw a couple of fire places which might be quite nice in the cooler months. The pub was clean and tidy with staff constantly going around cleaning tables as they were vacated. The Guinness was excellent as was the Doom Bar

Great drinks and food just shame about the staff, we have a 6 year old in the family and the staff came over every 15 mins to say we needed to leave, even though one would say 9pm another 8pm. We ordered food well before 9pm and spent quite a bit of money on alcohol just a shame the time kept changing, how the staff treated us was awful and we won’t be going back to that one. After ordering food around 7:45pm we we were told we needed to eat and leave as kids need to be out by 8 bearing in mind the night before was 9pm. Such rude staff.

Absolute value for money. Had the half of chicken in both flavours (with a friend, not all to myself). Both were delicious. Table service was great. Staff were polite and attentive even though the pub was packed. Highly recommend 😋

Good, clean pub. Friendly efficient staff. It's a Wetherspoons, so toilets upstairs! 🙃 Usual Wetherspoons menu and drinks. Food we ordered came in a timely manner. Very nicely cooked. Very reasonably priced. Will visit again before we go back to Australia. Recommended 👍

Good old spoons. Becoming a British institution. Good grub, massive drinks selection. Refil coffee. Always a seat. Great. Assembly rooms looking a bit tired now. Excellent £4 pizza.

I just love the app. Ordering food and drinks from the table is an absolute game changer. I always hated the push and pull of the queing experience. Now I can browse the various drinks options and make sure I choose the cheapest double rum and Pepsi Max available.

I am giving them 5 stars because it was a very busy Saturday night, we had to clear some glasses from one of the few empty tables. But having ordered using the app, the drinks and meals arrived very quickly. The staff were friendly and efficient.

A very typical Wetherspoons. My main issue,as I have limited mobility, is that staff appear to be happy to keep the disabled toilet open to everyone. Tgis means that disabled customers have to wait whilst abled bodied people choose the easy option of not climbing the stairs to the main toilets. I have visited over 50 times in the past 6 months or so and this seems to be an established policy by the managers here. Come on guys, have a though for your less able regulars, please.

Blue light card refused. Stating dont accept! stars I'm usually a frequent customer to weatherspoon, as love the pub and food. I usually get NHS discount, like blue light card. But in my last visit like 2 weeks ago. I was informed they dont do any discounts!! Which did not make sense as all other Wetherspoons still accepting NHS blue light card. I was very disappointed. There's no consistency across the chain and I feel this decision was made the by the manager not the company! I I'll write to the head office for an update.

Had a couple of pints on Saturday lunchtime at a very reasonable price and used the app to order as sat outside enjoying Epsom. Didn't eat so can't comment but enjoyable all the same . Will visit again.

Ordered a small plate as a starter and steak for main, tried to add a couple of extras … really hard work.. all food came out together which I tries to avoid by ordering at bar, would of used the app if i wanted all together. Poor experience from Spoons.. waiter apologetic but nothing done to resolve my complaint. Adios Assembly Rooms, plenty of other eateries in Epsom

Not one of the best weatherspoons, ordered scrambled eggs on toast and got bread with chopped up poached eggs, also got a breakfast and instead of fried eggs got again chopped up poached eggs, nobody came to ask if the food was OK, no surprise in that as they knew what the answer would be. Real shame as these pubs are very good for value.

Very posh Wetherspoons. The building dates from the 17th century when it was a coffee shop and bear baiting pit! It’s now one of the most middle class Wetherspoons you’re ever likely to find. They have a wine list and cocktail menu!!! Order using the app to get table service. Dogs not allowed. Kids welcome.

I went for breakfast and the food was cooked perfectly. Everything was very fresh. But what makes this weather spoons stand out, was the incredible attention to detail. When I arrived they were cleaning the glass panels outside and inside was immaculate, no stale pub smell. The tables and chairs were all so neat. Even the menus on the tables looked neat and well ordered. Not a sticky table in site. Then there's the staff, friendly and happy what a lovely place well done to all the staff that made it so lovely.

Can’t know weatherspoons can you. Lovely example of a weatherspoons. Lovely town. I wouldn’t go to weatherspoons if I wanted a great steak but tonight I have had a Tuesday steak deal and I was super impressed with value for money. Steak was actually cooked to perfection and well presented. Staff were professional and polite. Happy customer.

I came here for brunch over the weekend, plenty of seats and a nice weather-spoons to visit. It’s easy to order by app or till, and the breakfast came out quick and hot. Very good value for money!

Nice bar staff working well together is always nice to see. Good flow. Service quick and efficient, nice looking food and good prices on beer. What's not to like? Haven't been to Epsom in about 3 years but I would return here again!

Good food and a quiet sitting area outside. One member of staff thought nothing about sweeping under by chair and hit my foot without any sight of apology. Either retrain or fire him pronto.

Went here as a family of four looking for some food and drinks before cinema. We went around 6pm Saturday evening. The service and food was quick to come out, which was handy considering our time restraints for the cinema. Food taste good, came out hot and staff were helpful. Great value for price. We also got a seat straight away as it wasn't too busy. Very happy

Ordered food and drinks at 7ish. Food came out at an expected waiting time, however the (included) drinks didn't turn up until half an hour later, also after asking 3 members of staff...finally a fourth member finally brought it over. But no apology for the wait.. Granted, it was busy inside, considering the current climate.. maybe too busy? But they were still letting people in.. I would consider a cap on the guests.

The beauty of any Wetherspoons is that you know what to expect. It may not be the best or most posh of pubs, but it offers a very good, clean, comfortable environment at prices difficult to find elsewhere. The pub grub is simple, good and served quickly and efficiently.

Wonderful place to eat in, food at affordable prices, friendly polite staff clean and tidy facilities, if in Epsom then this is a must visit

This pub had an inviting vibe about it drawing us in for lunch, chose a table in front of the fire. With the downloaded app we awaited our mixed grills which arrived within 15 minutes. As it was steak Tuesday & being a mixed grill an offer was available on our pints. Food was juicy & succulent with crispy chips. Will visit again.

Had a nice afternoon with friends. Food was lovely, no waiting too long. Their double gins are great value for money. Staff were very pleasant too. Was very busy in there.

A nice Wheterspoon in the heart of Epsom, just by the shopping centre. There are lots of tables and so much space inside. From my experience the English Breakfast was delicious, but the eggs Benedict not great. Anyway it's a good place to have breakfast, lunch or also getting just a drink

  • 4/5 Stuart M. 1 year ago on Google
A good meal ( not gourmet)but enjoyable, with a drink at a reasonable price 😀 so that we can do it again. Service was good too . Locals need to learn to tip to encourage good service. By the way the toilets are really good 👍 which is a tough job . I will return.

I love the decor and atmosphere of this Wetherspoons, it's like no other i've been too. Food and service was good. After 8pm it seems to be the place for 18 to 24 year olds, which was okay as I went in the afternoon.

The menager is Cory absolutely Rasist. Another staff sold me beer without asking my Id and they took my money I was waiting on my table then I asked for my beer then Cory asked my Id and I said it's not on me and I showed my id on phone I am 30 years old. And he didn't accept that and also offer me soft drinks and I said I would like to get my refund he said that they can't refund it. you can't ask to people their id after selling beer. It's not make sense and in addition they never asked to my friends their id even one of my friends 20 years old. Ihave never had this experience in my life before.

Ive been a regular visitor to this pub since August 2021; and an occasional one before that, prior to moving back to the locality long-term. One of the best JD Wetherspoons pubs I have known. The staff are attentive and friendly, and the service quick and efficient. The affordable food comes in generous portions and is served with a smile. Any problem is quickly sorted. From what I have seen, this pub is very popular and well thought of, and I can see why. Please, keep up the good work, and please know that it's appreciated!

You know what, can't knock it. We parked locally in the town centre and walked for only £2.60. They had plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the sunshine. We all ate as a family of 4 with drinks and it was all done and dusted for £33. Absolutely bangin 👍

It is a good place to go and great value for money. No complaints, free tea & coffee refills. Free WiFi. Had lovely chicken and chips.

Friendly staff, good surroundings and thrilled to experience their movement into cutting edge cuisine by serving stone cold fried eggs. Beer is good and cheap though.

Great place. Anytime I ask for the disability toilet they open it straight away. Service is always pronto! Especially with drinks and food. Thanks a lot !

Be fair, beer is cheap, lovely and warm, staff are friendly, and great service, simply great value. Other pub's need to wake up. Well done Tim, shame you don't move into other industries that also need to understand their customers and recognise the market.
