Myself and a few friends arrived on Sunday morning for breakfast. We were first greeted by a friendly member of staff who sat us at our table in good time. Two of my friends went up to get their breakfast, whilst two of us waited at the table. Whilst they were up getting their breakfast, the manager on shift came to the table with a grimace on her face and said “who sat you here? I’m the manager here”, we were pretty shocked by how we were being spoken to by a member of staff. Our friends arrived shortly after, but the manager wasn’t done, Aggressively: “If you’re wondering where your friends are they've actually gone to pay for their food before going up to get it” (we were given no prior direction that we had to pay before we ate). We’d never been spoken to like that before by a member of staff working in restaurant, so understandably we were quite surprised. Avoid this place at all costs, most Toby’s that I’ve been to have been quite pleasant, but if you’re considering coming here for a nice, quick, cheap meal… Don’t. Also, to say the food was subpar would be a massive understatement.

What can I say good about the visit, the staff were polite and friendly! We walked into chaos plain and simple. The declaration the organisation has been serving roast dinners up for 35 years was seriously washed away in the calamity that unfolded. We looked online and found a slot available, our party was three in number. Arrived on time, shown to our table and portion size agreed. First person that went to select his food returned with a king-size plate but with proportions of a regular plate. Only two choices of meat/poultry Turkey and Beef, when the menu hints at having the choice of five meats/poultry (e.g. Beef, Gammon, Turkey, Pork and lamb). In the time I've used this particular restaurant I've NEVER experienced such a disgraceful display of chaos plain and simple. Customers were being turned away with the excuse 'the chef has had an incident with another member of staff.' Those customers had booked slots and were looking forward to a reasonably proced meal (some with children). What a way to spoil your trip? How on earth would that fill you with confidence to relax in that atmosphere. 30+ customers were turned away, simply because they weren't capable or ready for such numbers and the estimated covers they would be facing. No gravy in the pots, had to ask for them to be refilled. No accompanying sauces; again requesting them to be refilled. Condiments; had to search other tables ourselves .... total mayhem. It'll be a long time before we return or select with confidence another company restaurant elsewhere. Sorry Toby Carvery on this occasion you failed big style

A lovely Toby. Really relaxing. The member of staff who served us was brill couldn't do enough for us even when we pointed out the gravy wasn't hot she stopped wrist she was doing and got them all replaced immediately and couldn't apologise enough. Well definitely visit this one again. Food was yummy.

Good honest food. The quality of the carvery way surpasses the roast dinners in much more expensive pubs. Lovely gravy and very succulent meat. I go for the Gammon my partner loves the roast beef. Excellent value for money. Very friendly staff.

We had just returned from the airport and I thought perhaps we'd try the ' Too Good To Go App' for a takeaway, as we were too tired and it was too late to eat in. The food was 2 vegetarian carvery and one roast carvery, plus individual containers of gravy. All 3 of us thought the food was of the highest standard and very tasty, despite the lateness of the hour. The chicken and beef were especially good, and the roast potatoes, peas and carrots very nice. The quantity was also great , considering it was a takeaway, and we will use the leftover veg with today's dinner.

Went in Christmas eve for our dinner the waitress (short brown hair) was lovely and really helpful its just the food was awful the turkey was pink and the beef took a good 5 minutes to chew also my son ordered the footlong hot dog and while the sausage was 12 inches the baguette it came in was 5 inches we had to get dinner on the way home

We have been to this place many times and we have always had a good meal with no complaints whatsoever! These places are definitely value for money. The only comment I would make on this particular place is it is always very busy, but it always seems to suffer from staffing issues, namely lack of staff, particularly behind the bar. They do try hard though, so if your not in any rush and you don't mind a bit of a wait? Go for it, you won't be disappointed.

I went there for breakfast as they had a deal on . Kids eat free with every adult meal . It was surprisingly quiet which wasn’t a negative. The service was good . The ambience was warm and cosy . The buffet style eat as much as you like worked well. Everything was cooked well. You had a choice of scrambled eggs , bacon , sausages etc, etc . The extras for me were fried potatoes and Yorkshire puddings! 👍🏾 I did have seconds . 😂 the r only minor feedback was that a couple of bits were luke warm. I would have to go to check if it was a one off . All in all good value .

We visited WED evening for dinner time. I though will be quiet during weekdays so did not book it. BUT it was fully booked 😢😢 So lady staff was offered bar seat, and we had Carvery at bar table. It was around 5:30-6pm Would be better book for dinner if you don’t want to wait or seating in the restaurant area. Food was fresh! And staff are friendly even if busy time. And nice and clean restaurants area. We really enjoyed time in here.will be back !! We spent around £26 inc two beverages and 2 normal size carvery!!! Also they have plenty of car parking space 🚗

The amount of meat given was very small and our carver was somewhat miserable. Too many of the carvery items had been sat out for way too long and were very old and stale. Tables could do with being cleaned better; lots of tables around the bar area had empties on them for hours and had not been cleaned even by the time we were leaving. Definitely short staffed at this branch.

Food was OK, veg was tasty, turkey was good, but roast beef really gristly. Staff were really lovely and good service once seated, but had to wait a long time to get seated. Kids running around and shouting inside, but staff did try to keep them contained seperately.

The meat was lovely not dried out. Portions were really good. The staff were young buy they were so good and friendly. I left a tip not sure if you are supposed to it now but was definitely appreciated. Amazinglu the prices were really good. Well done

Food was luke warm, plates were cold. A very unpleasant Sunday lunch. Considering it had been refurbished & just reopened, it should have been the perfect opportunity to showcase a wonderful restaurant to encourage people to go to. It used to be a great place to go to & eat, we have been there previously on numerous occasions. We will not be going back here again.

Resturant was lovely and clean staff were extremely polite and welcoming also very well presented with their uniform. Food was lovely and tasty, nice and fresh and hot. Great selection especially enjoyed the sausages and the potatoes, bacon and onion mix was amazing! Myself and my 2 children left extremely full and happy had a great dining experience. Definitely recommend to all and we shall be going back.!

The decor is better than it used to be, but due to the 50% offer the food was more limited than I would've expected. My friends only had a choice of Turkey as there were no other meats. Also I was very disappointed with my order from the menu - being Salmon Wellington. I was told that this had being replaced and tried it anyway - it was a small piece of salmon wrapped in greaseproof paper with vegetables - what tasted and looked like pickle and other small vegetables with a buttery sauce. As I was still hungry, I ordered apple pie and custard. This came out barely warm, and the custard was an bland flavour and apple pie Luke warm at best. Also, we felt rushed as the staff started to clean down for the breakfast at around 8.50pm. I get that it was cold etc - but this seemed far too early! We left at 9.30pm and by then - we were the last people there, with all the sections closed and sorted for breakfast. Also, the gents toilets were not very clean either, with a broken seat on the lavatory and what seemed like a whole roll of toilet paper on the floor under the urinals and the tube in the sink. I don't usually give a bad review, but compared to our local Toby at Park Place, Mitcham - we have never felt rushed like this and they definitely don't clear down this early!!

The host who welcomed up was cheerful and welcoming. We were 15-20 minutes early so they arranged for us to be seated at our table as soon as they could. The gentleman doing the meat cavery was very pleasant! Very polite and patient with the customer while they made their orders. They brought out lamb too which was a nice surprise as absolutely love lamb and it was delicious! The food was cooked really well… whoever did the lamb and roast potatoes 🥔 yesterday… massive thank you 😊!!! My son absolutely loves the Mac n cheese on your restaurants so our only feedback from yesterday is please don’t be shy with the sauce… yesterday was more just pasta then Mac n cheese but he still left with a belly full and empty plate!

The staff were very friendly and attentive. There is plenty of room here, everything is nicely spaced out. The food was good, especially the meat, stuffing and gravy. Trimmings were mixed, but there was enough that was good for anyone to fill themselves up. Mashed potatoes were a low point. Great for kids! A proper filling hot meal and a lovely dessert for £6! The negative reviews of this place seem to be people expecting a fine dining experience for £10. Of course they could improve, but credit to Toby for the standard achieved at this price point. I cannot think of anywhere that matches the value here.

Staff did not acknowledge us when we arrived and we stood ages waiting for someone to show us to a table. A queue began to form behind us. Peas had sat too long and many were not only dried out, they were burnt and black. One of the two trays of roast potatoes were massively overcooked. They were also black. Worse still, the syrup sponge was a failed sponge that either hadn’t risen… or had sat for too long under a lamp to keep warm and was solid. It was just inedible. Absolutely will not be returning

Food is standard carvery fare. Waited 15 minutes after sitting to be asked for drinks orders. We requested our bill 20 minutes ago at the same time as the table next to us. Although they received theirs promptly, we did not. We requested the bill once more, and was rudely told to wait by the male waiter. Perhaps it’s because we are people of colour, hence the waiter thinks we can be kept waiting. It has now been 30 minutes. Please train your staff better. We spent more time waiting than eating, at a carvery! Absolutely disgusted.

  • 5/5 michelle m. 10 months ago on Google
If you want a carvery with all the trimmings, this is a lovely place to go - they have the beef, pork, lamb, Yorkshire pud and all the veg. You will definitely not go hungry here. The food was pretty good and our waiter was lovely. So i would definitely go back there.

Sat outside as it was a glorious day, had a lovely lunch, but the only thing that let it down was the area where the umbrellas and tables were, needed a good clean. I know outside is not easy keeping these areas clean but I don't think any of that area had been cleaned in weeks. Luckily I had some wipes with me to clean the tables. The whole area could do with a good sweep.

It was better than the last time I visited but the food still isn’t that great. The pasta that is served with the roast I think it’s meant to be mac and cheese however it tastes like plain pasta. Cauflower again didn’t have any cheese on just plain sauce. And the mash potato was probably the worst I’ve ever had not even mashed up properly there were still big lumps of potato which tasted raw. Very gross. Probably won’t be going back there u til they change chef again!!

We attended on Boxing Day and it was lovely and quiet. The tables were dressed nicely and it had a real Christmas feel! Our waitress was just lovely, really great interpersonal skills and was happy to pass the time of day with us in a pleasant way. The Manager was his usual pleasant friendly self which is always very nice. The Chef serving the meats was also very pleasant and so kind as I just wanted tiny slithers of meat. Our whole experience was lovely and so much better than our last visit, when it took over 25 minutes to line up for food. I think having Christmas music would have been a nice touch in the background.

  • 3/5 Lee W. 3 months ago on Google New
Booked for Christmas Day lunch and paid the £10pp deposit on booking, nothing wrong with that. It’s standard practice in the industry. However it wasn’t clear anywhere throughout the booking process that we were then expected to pay for our whole meals prior to the day. It wasn’t until over a week into December that I got an email saying my payment was overdue. I have never ever been asked to pay in full for a meal prior to the event, it’s just not a good practice. Anyway, I did t want to let it ruin Christmas so I tried calling on many occasions to get payment sorted, no one answered so I left voicemails and no one got back to me. I eventually got through one day to speak to someone and they said to call back the next day after 5pm. I did this but got no answer again. A few days later you emailed me again saying if I didn’t pay by the next day my booking would be cancelled. I tried a few times again, eventually got through to someone and again was asked to call back the next day. I explained this was not possible as you had threatened to cancel my booking. Miraculously then the team member was able to take my payment over the phone. Although there was absolutely nothing wrong with the food and service on the day, the whole lead up to the event wasn’t pleasant at all.

During our first visit to this Toby Carvery, we were fortunate enough to have the pleasure of being assisted by a truly exceptional waitress Jenna who went above and beyond to make our dining experience memorable. From the moment we sat down, it was clear that she had a genuine passion for ensuring her guests had an outstanding experience. She took the time to explain the process which greatly assisted us in making our selections. Her friendly demeanor and warm smile immediately put us at ease. It was evident that she genuinely cared about our satisfaction and was more than willing to accommodate any special requests we had. Her attentiveness was a perfect balance, and it was evident that she had a keen understanding of when to offer assistance and when to allow us to enjoy our meal in peace. She radiated positivity and created a welcoming atmosphere. It's rare to encounter someone who genuinely seems to love what they do, and it was evident that she takes great pride in providing exceptional service. In short, our experience at this Toby Carvery was elevated thanks to the outstanding service provided by Jenna, an exceptional waitress. She set a high standard for service, and we look forward to returning to the Tobys knowing that we'll be in excellent hands!

Lovely ambience. Very friendly and accommodating staff named Jenna. We enjoyed our brunch with our tourist friends from Canada. Highly recommended place that serves authentic English Breakfast.

We love a carvery and this place serves a good one. We will return, but would like the drink machine to be serviced/internally cleaned if possible. Tables could be bigger too as very cramped. However, the staff made up for those minor points, as always friendly and bring the joy back to the experience.

Apart from the server who forgot our cups it was amazing, king size full carvery. Got lucky with fresh meat just put out as we arrived, veg was nicely cooked not mush, potatoes were amazing with choice of plain and glazed. At the time guy in front stole last of the mint sauce but server did say they're just getting some but I passed the wait as wanted to enjoy the hot food. Server told us that there was no full fat drinks only diet, went up to the machine after waiting 15 mins half way through our meal to get our cups to find there is full fat. Parking was usual busy but spaces around just wish people would park in their space and not over the lines so I was sure to park in the tight space in our 4x4. Overall if it wasn't for the stressed out waitress it would have been perfect but my review is based on the food as service is what you expect from a carvery doesn't mean it couldn't be better just means it's never changed so at least its consistent service you get.

You get what you expect at this outlet of the chain of pub/restaurants. The environment is very good, with a clean & tidy set up. The quality of the food was excellent value for money & the waiting staff were also excellent (especially being very aware & attentive to our needs, polite & friendly). I have no hesitation in recommending this place for a meal!

I often come here with my mum. The carvery is great value for money. All the staff are so friendly and helpful but I must give a special mention to Jenna who goes above and beyond. Thank you for a lovely afternoon 🙂.

We chose to visit this branch as it was a welcomed chnage to our usual Windsor branch however we won't return. Barely any options for veg, potatoes underdone and my dessert was half a portion. Not worth the amount we paid and as vegetarians we order the meatless carvery so we had very little options to chose from and ended up leaving hungry.

  • 2/5 Chris L. 2 years ago on Google
Food was tasty enough, have used this restaurant dozen of times over years. The go to place for family gathering in the past. The staff were lovely and cheerful as alway. However my mood soured when went to carvery. The meat was drying out, the veg was empty it was 5pm and to be honest if it was not for being hungry I would have left. When we asked for more veg, they went "ten minutes" but kept serving meat. The roasted potatoes were to be polite just......brown covered in oil . The chef was in different and the presentation was appalling.

Dirty cutlery again on this occasion with the promised ruffled roast potatoes nowhere to be seen. For a business that says it represents the Great British Roast, it should take a look at itself with a critical eye. The basics are often wrong as far as the food goes but the staff are always very friendly. This place is, and has been for a while, crying out for a management team who can demonstrate and insist upon, excellence. Great concept, poorly delivered.

Started the night before going on the top of the world. Walked in, had a great team member Alison who was lovely! 5 stars to her! We waited in the que for ‘buffet’ for 45 minutes! No one bothered to tell us if there was a problem with the oven before entering. We wouldn’t of minded if we was told before. The chef was unnecessarily rude. I’m this long que we had children standing on our coats and scalfs on our table. No staff told them to get off. We did. Food was cold. Not that clean. The only reason I’m giving a 1 if for good service from Alison!

  • 3/5 Paul S. 2 years ago on Google
It's a bit unreasonable to expect only 2 members of staff to be able to copy on a Friday night. Come on Toby Carvery it could be a lot better. Food was good.

  • 4/5 Ross B. 2 years ago on Google
The best Toby in the area. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We felt out waitress Debbie went out of her way to make sure we enjoyed our meal there. And the roast potatoes were actually crispy for once 👌🏼

We have a son with Autism and another with serious sensory issues. One of them didn’t want to come in because of balloons as they scare him so the staff took them down just for him and also the staff were very accommodating for our other son who just wanted strawberries as a dessert! It is much appreciated and we’ll definitely come back

Been here a couple of times and the food and desert menu offer great value for money. Definitely recommend on a Sunday afternoon where you don't feel like cooking but really want decent food. Interior decor could do with a refurb (hence the 4 stars). However, staff were friendly and service was excellent. Would definitely recommend and keep going back.

Great value with the 50% off mains. Waitress was really nice and even made time for us even though she was really busy. Roast potatoes were much nicer last night then the previous 2 times I have been there.

8 of us came here yesterday for our daughters birthday and we were all looking forward to an enjoyable dinner here as we have been here and to other Toby carvers in the area. On all other occasions we had nothing to complain about, but on this occasion we had to. Each of our dinners were very cold and the beef which I had was tough like rubber. I had carrots and cauliflower for veg and that was cold also. We were so disappointed with everything.I spoke to the manager and he gave us the cost of 2 meals off but that still didn't compensate for spoiling our evening. Your kitchen staff need to improve on how they keep all of the food hot for the customers. Not worth what we payed for it

  • 3/5 Zoe C. 2 years ago on Google
Got taken out for my birthday, we booked and glad it wasn't busy. Also a bonus last day for the 50% of the carvery. The queue for the carvery wasn't long, but got to the seat and food was cold. Even the plates were cold normally need a serviette to hold the plates. Noticed staff were trying to sort out the heat lamps but that didn't get the food hot. Shame about this.

You know these places are always nice for a visit. But, what makes this one special is how the staff treat you. Real good, just like the food! Thanks chefs

  • 4/5 Richard R. 2 years ago on Google
2nd time this week but nowhere near as good as previously. Turkey carved like doorsteps, only a few roast potatoes available which were undercooked, likewise cauliflower. Chef seemed more concerned with getting on his phone. Maybe arriving at 8pm not a good idea if they've had a busy Sunday.

  • 5/5 cheryl H. 1 year ago on Google
I don't eat an awful lot but I do like the meat and I asked for a little bit of each and it was not a problem for the chef he was very accommodating. The service was quick and we eat and had pudding and left as there was only 2 of us. It was not to busy as it was Father's Day so I was pleased to eat and then go, we did not have to wait too long to queue for the food. Thank you

I was having trouble booking on line as party was for 11 and it kept loading and redirecting me I called Worcester park to speak to the direct. Got a lady named Jenna (I think, short hair, tattoo on back of neck) she was extremely accommodating, helpful and gave me a courtesy call back which I really appreciated. On arrival she was warm and welcoming and accommodated us all really well. The family all agreed she was a lovely lady.

who doesnt love a roast and Toby never fails to hit the spot. the bartender named Jenna makes the most amazing cocktails (a bit dangerous though as they go down way too easily). was impressed that the manager actually came over and introduced himself and ensured all was well. fabulous service.excellent food. great value. will be back.
