The acting manager or front of house was incredibly hard working and really positive and helpful with all of the customers. Disappointing for meat on this occasion we it was very fatty and the beef was so dry that it was inedible. The gammon on the other hand was better than expected but also reasonably fatty. I had to request to the servers to have less fat as about a quarter of my small serving was fat. I would like to not have to request a fair and decent portion. I will visit again as the managers can do attitude suggests that are someone that would take these comments on board and deal with them. Will update as appropriate (3 stars August 2022).

Great meals and ambience for a birthday meal. One of our party has a reduced stomach size so only required a child's size carvery meal. This was requested to the manager on being seated and was absolutely no problem for the staff. All in all a very comfortable meal experience. Well done to all the staff.

We had a really enjoyable experience on Monday, much better than our last 2 visits, the chef and manager were very attentive and interacted well with my whole family. After a couple of recent bad experiences, I was concerned about returning. The outcome of the visit is that we will be back again after this visit. Well done with staff improvements

Excellent food as expected, unfortunately there wasn’t any lamb roast available, however it was delicious anyway. Long queue at the time we went in, which is rather a plus point, the food must be good if so many people join in for dinner. Service was brilliant as well, will surely come again!

Disgusting is the only word to describe this place. The food appeared if it had been sat there for hours, the peas and carrots were brown. The chef was extremely rude, when asked if they had beef dripping potatoes, he huffed and walked off. The same chef also served two people of my party and then disappeared for 15 minute, this was a birthday celebration for my elderly father, who was extremely upset by the events. I asked to speak to the general manager, who said the food was fine and then sulked that he would have to serve me. He used terms such as Madame and hunny and was extremely patronising with the manor in which he spoke. He said there is no problems, only solutions after being spoken to so rudely I decided myself and my party should leave. The general manager said just go and didn't care waving us off. If it would have been said at the start upon entry that due to COVID, not all items would be available or the service may not be up to scratch, then I would have understood this. To sum up RUDE manager, RUDE chef and disgusting food.

Although you book a table in advance we were not able to get seated for another 15mins which was not a problem. Whilst waiting we order some drinks but because all seating areas are now taken up for diners we were unable to sit down which was our only bugbear. The food and service is excellent and prices reasonable. Recommended.

Food would be a lot more enjoyable if served hot rather than slightly warm. Seemed to be a shortage of staff serving the food. The guy was running back and forth to try and keep up with people who needed serving.

Really enjoyed our roast dinner at the Toby Carvery in Ewell. We received a warm welcome and were shown to our booth. The waitress took our drinks order and invited us to go and get our carvery. The carver was cheery and offered us 4 different meats. I went for turkey and gammon with plenty of vegetables. Everything was piping hot and so we're the plates. Our drinks were waiting for us at our table as we sat down to eat. The food was delicious. We were offered dessert but we were full, although it did look tempting. We will definitely be returning very soon.

Had the carvery, fairly slow service as nobody emerged from the kitchen to serve for quite a while.Had no table service, so had to get drinks from the bar ourselves, and didn't have a dessert because nobody came to the table to ask, or take our empty plates. Slightly different to the Hogsmill. The carvery food was good.

Always get a lovely bit of lamb and crispy potatoes but the sausages were really quite dry, happy they had parsnips. Good service from the chef friendly and chatty although we had to wait a while for the staff to come back out from the kitchen, maybe they were a bit understaffed that day? I'm sure will go back again and hopefully the sausages will be just right ,

Wife's beef was excellent. My lamb was dried up tough as old boots. When I showed it to our server who by the way was excellent in all other aspects. All I was told sorry and no offer of removing it off the bill! So sadly not a great experience.

Went for an early Sunday lunch. Highly recommended, great quality roasted meat straight off the joint. Coupled with very good service, it is difficult to find a better Sunday roast in epsom for such a reasonable price!

We often come here for breakfast. It's excellent value for money as it's technically a self-serve "all you can eat". We love a full English breakfast and will keep returning to enjoy the good food, the friendly atmosphere and the pleasure of no washing up. I've never been for the dinners so couldn't comment but the desserts menu looks amazing 😋

Very disappointed this time! After having lovely carvers here feel let down. Dinner was cold! Service was appalling, had to go looking for a waitress to ask for a drink to be ordered! When the waitress came she was not very professional her attitude was unthinkable. The carvery station was a mess, it looked like someone had a food fight. The chef had dirty clothes on which was not a good sight, 😕 It cannot be blamed on a busy time as there was only about 10 customers! I shall not be going there again!

Positive: The carvery and dessert on the festive menu were really tasty and excellent value for money. Our server was very friendly and efficient. The only, very minor, criticism was that the mash potato was weirdly solid and difficult to serve and the meat portion was a little small, but adequate.

come on a Sunday 5pm staff friendly but very busy chefs quick and funny and gave a resnable portion of meat. NO LAMB. why :( Sundays I thought lamb was a thing on Sundays overall much better than last time and I will be back although maybe not on a Sunday with the extra price got no diffrence...

Had Carvery here today, had to ask twice to get glasses for our drinks. Then once finished wanted to pay, our server was stood talking for 15 minutes to another table, so I got up and asked another server if we could pay and she stated she was too busy, and not politely either. In the end I had to interrupt our server. To be honest they wouldn’t have noticed if we hadn’t paid and now I wish I hadn’t after this experience. Would not recommend.

This is the first time we have been here of an evening. We have been here a number of times over the years, but tonight we had the best carvery ever! The beef and the gammon were delicious, as were the roast potatoes in beef dripping. We were all tempted by the crumble for desert, which was amazing. Laura was a very friendly, helpful and looked after us really well. We will definitely come back more often

Five of us all had 3 course festive menu. Very accommodating staff. Starters and carvery were lovely. No complaints at all. Shame that the Christmas pud was quite bland and disappointing. However, will definitely be revisiting.

Everything was perfect. I had requested a table with easy access to the servery (I have mobility issues) and this was provided. Our waitress was cheerful, polite, professional and efficient. The food was piping hot and delicious. The desserts were very indulgent. We will definitely be back.

My family and I were exceptionally happy with Donna, who went above and beyond our expectations. Thank you so much for accommodating us, at such short notice, (we were let down by another restaurant) you managed to get us a table in your very busy restaurant, and seat us together. We had a very good selection of meats and vegetables, food was great! Thank you Donna :)

Me and my partner have been coming here for the last few years and this was by far our worst experience. We queued for 35 minutes for our carvery, and the queue only got bigger as time went on. They had clearly overbooked. The kitchen staff were more interested in dealing with takeaways than jumping on the carvery to help the guy who was serving on his own. Eventually someone else jumped in to help after complaints for people in the queue, and you could see the pressure instantly lift from the poor guy doing it on his own. The 2 guys serving were great and so was our waitress until she saw that we pressed no tip on the card machine to which point she turned sour and couldn’t wait to get away. I’m not sure what she did to think she deserved a tip as she didn’t even bring our drinks over, the barman did. I get tips are a big part of that type of job but read the room. The whole restaurant was clearly frustrated at the wait time and not a lot was being done by any of the staff to ease peoples frustration. Apart from the service, or lack of. The food was ok, not up to their normal standards but still nice enough. Such a shame as this has always been the best Toby in the area.

I have given a 2 because the waiting staff were brilliant, polite and attentive. The restaurant was clean and tables were cleared quickly. However i have deducted 3 stars because the quality of food has deteriorated as has the servers. This is my second vist where the server wasn't at the serving station and they seemed unable to cut the meat which meant small portions. As for the beef, it was very fatty and very chewy to the point I almost gave up trying to eat it.

Had a fantastic meal at the Toby today, meat was tender, loads of veg and great potatoes! Vernon and his wife and the friendly waitresses made the experience extra special. They have done wonders here since taking it over. Thank you guys Brilliant!!!

Absolutely superb, been to this place over many years when we come down to visit family and experiences have been poor. However, the staff are so friendly now and the food is great value…highly recommend.

Had a lovely roast dinner with all the trimmings. Lad doing the carving saw me coming and made sure I had the giant boat plate, giving me the opportunity to put my friends to shame with my gargantuan appetite. Clean, and a decent sized car park. Really enjoyed this Toby Carvery and will definitely be back!

This Toby Carvery has got to be 1 of the best I have been to. I went there on Sunday 24 October 2021 and the food was delicious. Service was really good aswell. Since I found it so good I am going again tomorrow (Wednesday 27 October 2021) and I am excited. If you like a really big roast dinner this is one of your best choices. I recommend definitely giving it a go.

The food was good as usual as was the service. Shame never any crackling at Ewell but there is at other Toby Carvery's. I don't think it looks very good when the waitresses are smartly dressed but the chap who meets and greets at the desks is far from smart. A pair of shabby denim blue jeans hanging off of his waist. It wouldn't look so bad if they were nice smart, well-fitting jeans but his are more suited to a road-side cafe.

Visited for Sunday Lunch with my kids and arrived earlier than booked which wasn’t a problem and they kindly accommodated us and gave us a booth when my daughter asked if we could be seated at one. The customer experience from start to finish was flawless. Nothing was too much trouble, from the endlessly cheerful waitress Laura, whose Customer Service was next level to the lady who kindly went and checked the soft drinks refills machine politely and happily like nothing was too much trouble. The food was great, service on point - would thoroughly recommend as a carvery venue, thank you. 👨🏻‍🍳 Great food 🍹 Good drinks selection on free refills 🙋🏼‍♀️ Top tier customer service 💰 Reasonable prices 🛋️ Nice atmosphere 🧼 Clean and tidy throughout

Great food, all lovely and fresh! Our waitress was fantastic and really friendly! Considering the volume of the people at the restaurant the chefs were bringing out fresh meat and veg to supply the demand! The waitress and hosting staff were quick and efficient and we will definitely be returning!

The service was quick. After we had finished our meals, was asked if we wanted a dessert, we both said no. Then the bill arrived, not that we had asked for it. I also had a discount to use. Waitress wasn't very helpful and we felt like we was being pushed out. Apart from your carvery menu, there wasn't much else on the menu. We i return? Unsure at present. Everyone else was very helpful.

The food was amazing!! Best Toby I’ve ever had.. I’ve come to this one several times along side other branches but Sundays meal here was by far the best I’ve ever had!! Not one complaint, my whole family enjoyed the meal and for once we had seconds!. Staff very friendly, bubble and welcoming.. the front of house man sadly we didn’t get his name, he is the life and soul of the place.. also our waiter Laura made our service very smooth and also my 3 year old adored her. Great venue, great food, fantastic staff!

Always enjoy a trip to Toby Carvery. Service from the staff was good, very polite, and smiley. The food could have been warmer but the quality was much better than previous visits.

Although I had the king size roast, I thought there could have been more generous than 1 slice of each meat (4 in total). Unlimited vegetables including roast potatoes always welcome. All drinks (beer, unlimited soft drink, coffee) were at least £ 5 which was a bit pricey. Serving chef could have been friendlier & more communicative/informative/helpful. Waiting staff were excellent & quick.

Had a good catch-up with friends on Sunday 20/11/22. Great friendly service. I was very surprised at the price of my vegetarian roast. Considering I had none of the vegetarian or fish options just vegetables and a Yorkshire pudding the £11 and a few pence price was not much less than the 3 meat eaters! Very good food nonetheless.

Booked a table. No queue to get our food. It was very tasty and hot for a change. Price was also very good. We will be coming back again. Friends I was with been coming a lot lately and really enjoy themselves and the food.

We were greeted warmly by Donna the manager on a hot summer afternoon and guided to the A.C seating area which was so welcoming. She was so caring and kind and provided me with a creative ice pack to soothe my healing ankle fracture. The food was perfect and just right. Thak you Donna for a wonderful experience.

The meats, potatoes and gravy were all good. The spouts were tiny and rock hard and the cauliflower cool (not in a good way). The staff were pleasant enough. Although the place was not especially busy, we were shown to a 2 person table tucked away with no lighting. Fortunately we were allowed to move. But guys, those two person tables are too small. Be generous. Would it have hurt to join a pair of 2 person tables? There were three joined next to us to form a 6 person table with no one using them. Eventually a couple of people were allowed to sit there though they were no eating. It's a restaurant, right? This is the second Toby Carvery I've visited and the second that has been an underwhelming experience. Could definitely do better.
